In Russia, people retire earlier than in most Western countries, despite the fact that the retirement age was recently increased there as well. In addition, Russian pensioners can receive a pension and work at the same time. There are quite a few pensioners who are in no hurry to remain unemployed.
It was a wise choice to knit your husband that scarf. It looks warm and I think anything you make yourself lasts much longer than anything you could buy in a store. 🙂
Prices look to be about 20-25% lower than a German discounter (for example the Spaghetti). That means a much larger percentage of a Russian's take home pay is going on food. Some of the items like the foreign made alcohol cost about the same as in Germany. That is a very expensive bottle of Jack Daniels if you are earning the average Russian wage. It would be like the same bottle in Germany costing €80.
Prices are low in Dollars or Euros. But what kind of salaries do Russian employers offer? Poland where I live is hardly more expensive. But the minimum salary is slightly above 700 Euros per month.
Maybe we should compare taxes at the same time? Yesterday I paid the heating bill for the previous month. I have a one-room apartment, which I own. I live alone, I am a pensioner. The payment came to 831 rubles. I refused to pay according to the meter - I pay according to the established tariff. I regulate the temperature in the apartment like all Russians - by opening or closing the window. If you add to this the cost of electricity, water and garbage removal, it will come to approximately 2.5 - 3 thousand rubles. Now decide for yourself - is it expensive or cheap, good or bad..🤔
I don't think you get it. The average Russian wage is 23,000 rubles a week, or $227USD/ $216 Euros. Those grocery prices are about half the price we pay here in Australia and our average weekly wage is $1,180USD / $1,124 Euro. Those Russian grocery prices are horribly expensive for the locals!

Food is expensive everywhere in the world. The crash of the ruble will definitely hurt you later so stock up now if you can. I spend about $500-600 a month here in Texas at a cheap grocery (Wal-mart). The prices are up about 40-60% in just a year. The manufactures are making products smaller as well. Ritz crackers are so thin now that peanut butter breaks it into pieces while spreading. Gonna get worse I think.
With food tariffs(later in the year), and tax/consumer tax and grocery they already passing in our red state :( ; I have no idea why they insistent in passing these bills here, especially when lot of us are prety poor; and small % of rich people which gets tax cuts. Food is going to rise for sure; I'd say by the time we hit 2028, food prices will be doubled by then; if we lucky, all depends on if "corporations" want to pass on the price hikes, which those tariffs which they have to pay; gonna be some scare years to come.. If you plan to buy anything expensive above 1000-5000+ .. Buy it this year of 2025, before price hike is added in 2026 or so, so save a couple hundred or 1000s $$$$.
I v seen a couple days ago when buying a grocery at russian mini market an old lady she was liturally shocked by skyrocketed prices and wondered for what reason 😂.
Since Trump was elected, I've already noticed that prices are lower. Ice cream that was $9 a half gallon is $7 at the same store. Coca-Cola was $9 a 12-pack. I just bought it for $4.99.
Someday the world will understand. We need to stop buying bottled water in plastic bottles. I remember when I was a kid you couldn't even buy water in the grocery store. Here's another thing to point out. If you notice the bottled water prices were higher than the soda prices. It's the same here in the USA. How does that even make sense. Here's another thing if it comes in a plastic bag or a box you probably don't need it.

Excellent Video! Beautiful Scarf, hat's off to you.
Hi from Germany I am careful what I answer😘
Hi. Have a great day 😊
Prices look to be about 20-25% lower than a German discounter (for example the Spaghetti).
It doesn't matter where you live, everywhere you lose 😂
@@AUNZAnon you have to actually have to get out of Moscow and St Petersburg and you will see that things are much different in the other cities and villages where the pensions are about 300 USD $. It’s a different Russian East of Moscow.
Ruzzian salaries ?? About $450 per month
I like seeing the grocery store shopping, its interesting
Why?
@@RusGirlVlog Because there are things in it that we do not have and are different. So it is interesting to see
@@webstars1998 oh, I see then. I also filmed such stores twice.

Nice scarf but $20us = 2,100.00000 or more rubles
It looks like it's set up
Notice how most things are stacked right at the front of the shelves as if nobody is allowed to touch them
If nothing else it shows no one is buying much
Like the chocolates, mostly there were only two or three of most types racked at the front of the shelves and as cheap as they may be ticketed no one must be buying them and she's constantly rounding down and a hundred rubles doesn't equal a US dollar
Where something like the Jack Daniels was ticketed at 1999.00 rubles she called it $20us not $21us that's if it really is Jack Daniels and if something was 10,99.00000 she'd call it $10 when in reality it's more than eleven
And a lot of the time while they're filming there is nobody in the aisles and she's describing basic things like noodles as if it was the first time she's seen them, you just put hot water on them, and him shacking the can in amazement before puting it back, and just about everything they pick up is put straight back on the shelf even a $1.50 pizza but at the end they have a couple of full trolleys
Didn't notice anyone else coming out with full trolleys
I suppose it was payment, they got a lot of bottled water they mustn't have clean drinking water there
👏🧐
Food is expensive everywhere in the world. The crash of the ruble will definitely hurt you later so stock up now if you can. I spend about $500-600 a month here in Texas at a cheap grocery (Wal-mart). The prices are up about 40-60% in just a year. The manufactures are making products smaller as well. Ritz crackers are so thin now that peanut butter breaks it into pieces while spreading. Gonna get worse I think.
Eggs up 150% since march..at walmart....else?
Tariff as alibi?
Beautiful knitting!
Here's another thing if it comes in a plastic bag or a box you probably don't need it.
micro plastic in the body ..... :-(
Russian wages and pensions are a fraction of those in Europe and US.
As well as expenses
What a great insight into prices in Russia. Alex is like myself, love my sweets and biscuits 😂...
Am sure you're aware that prices are 4 to 5 times cheaper than some countries 😮
Though your salaries are 4 to 5 times less, i believe.
I've been to Russia many times in the past.

Wow.. $57.. that's a lot for the average Russians making $500 per month
What he bought would cost me at most 45 Euro, that's about $45. (but I also have absolutely no need to buy water, we have excellent quality water from the tap)

Yes, but you have to remember that some people make $510

Great content ...
Granny Smith are cooking apples - for making apple pie.
Not here (Europe) they're not. Bramley apples are cooking apples. Granny Smiths are eating apples.
thanks😁
We Navajo's love potatoes also. Our agricultural farm market sales 50lbs (22.6 kg) bag of potatoes for $10.00.

My buddy in the US pays $700 a month for his healthcare. Did you factor that in??
I was raised on an orchard farm. The Granny Smith are good for cooking, like pies. But not for regular eating.

@martingregory9881 interesting I'd never heard of that one. My dad, if he was still around might have. @@brianpentecostaldeplorable9841 I have had a look at the Bisbee red and it looks very nice I like a good red delicious apple . What really annoys me is with all the amazing varieties of apples the supermarkets and shops as a whole tend to stick to about 10 or 12 varieties . I know these are chosen for popularity and their shelf life but it would be nice to have a change and taste something different .
The ruble has lost over 3 percent against the dollar every year for the last 22 years. So I can understand why imports would be more expensive but things like apples or potatoes produced in russia paid for in rubles from farmers also paid in rubles should not go up in price as everything remains in rubles !
Same the Euro lost over 3 protzent in the world 👎
And? If Russians don't buy thing from the USA they don't give a sh!t about the USD value.
You shop differently than most couples in the u.s. Most men only get to push the cart, and sneak some candy or chips in quickly if wife isn't watching. The wife compares ingredients and prices and put into cart. Men only get to push cart or reach high and get things for wife.

Sales tax is already included in the price, which is indicated on the price tag on the shelf next to the product. No additional taxes are taken when you pay
