@@ColonelDamnedersit makes sieges as Vamp Counts ez mode. Just get the enemy fighting your blob on a narrow street, cast at a slight angle, and watch it delete the enemy.
Surprised the dwellers below didn't make the list. It does great damage while also slowing down units inside it. Also its in the lore of life which is super useful
Flames of Azgohr at the bottom, feels bad. Considering that you can greatly increase fire damage that enemies take AND all your units have fire resistance it really should be higher.
@@joeyawiki3315 The other thing to consider is that, at least in campaigns, the chaos dwarves have so much more access to winds of magic than other races that you don't feel the high cost nearly as much.
2:40 Comet of Casandora has explosion radius as big as Foot of Gork's (not visible in the UI), but it's damage is the highest in terms of explosions. Overcasted version can clear out multiple infantry units that are blobbed, not to mention a good aim can also struck a large target for ~2k dmg. It has a very huge delay until it activates though. Nothing beats it in campaign. I would also suggest you test out Searing Doom (Metal) and the better version Slicing Shards (Slaanesh). SD can be made spamable at 4 wom for WoC and Slicing Shards is costly version of it but deletes units.
If you get the Flames of Azgohr close enough to a wall, it can go of beneath/inside it. Making all the spawned projectiles hit the wall as well, obliterating it in a singles cast.
I think another benefit from Flames of Azgorh is factoring in its Chaos Dwarf only, and most of the time your friendly fire is going to your Laborer meat shields or to your Chaos Dwarf infantry (with their fire and magic resistance).
Think you are overblowing the damage from the wind spells (get it) and discounting the value from stationary vortexes The wind spells usually only give value if you have perfectly lined up units in a good straight formation in my experience the AI tends to pile people into blobs rather than trying to perfectly engage along a line Also the wind units are very low utility for sieges and settlement battles or choke points - I’ll take a single cast of pit of shades any day over 5 casts of blossom wind or hellhammer
You forgot bouncing in settlement battles can actually be useful, if you have straight walls there. Spell bounce can make a winds spell hit 2 to 5 times (or more for fast winde spells like the Blossom Wind) the same targets, which kills any and every infantry unit
yea, the ai with warp lighting has fucked me up early game before. I dont get to use magic often becasue of how I ussually build my armies. Ie 7-9 infantry front line, a lord, and all the rest cavalry to hammer and anvil the enemy army into submission. but high powered magic does pair really well for armies that revolve mostly around a frontline of infantry like 6-8, a lord, and fill out the rest with ranged, I personally prefer ranged that can arch shots because weather my gunpowder missile troops will fire or not is a 50/50 chance left in the hands of a board fucking sheogorath with a narc on.
Wind of death deserves better, especially because if you use it like you are supposed to by bouncing it off walls you can wipe pretty much any unit in one cast. Also the aoe size of spells like foot of gork and flames of azgorh are half the reason you use them, the ai cant move out fast enough to dodge it like almost every other spell
I lost a multiplayer match to this spell... ennemy noctilus ended with 500 kills, at least 400 where from that one cast it was insane. He waited till i blobbed a bit and got a very nice sideways cast i didnt expect.
I know it is not technically a magic spell but the army ability for the Dark elves, Dark Conduit is the strongest spell of them all, got 3 charges and killed 2/3 of a rat army, around 2k kills, I had 3 units I died but end result was they had 128 troops left, 2 partial units and a few heros with the lord also. Never seen so much devastation, funny part is my guys were in full route mode and you can still apply it, was a massive blob of death, most of the deaths came from just 1 use, it killed like 5 or 6 units if not more in one shot. Was truly amazing to see.
Everyone has mentioned dwellers which should also be on the list, but also the fire spells, Kroaks spells (no friendly fire) and im also bringing up Bjuna... it can one shot most units and doesnt need aiming
Comet is the best, if you can cheese the ai into a blob which is pretty easy on most maps you can obliterate their whole army in one cast. I cant tell you how many times if got army losses in about 2 seconds after the armies clashed.
I would have liked to see that Burning Head or Flame Storm made the list instead of Blossom Wind. Even though they may not have the AP like Blossom the overall damage and leadership de-buff makes them much better spells.
Saying vangheists revenge isn't the best wind spell because the winds to value ratio is bad is just wrong. Taking overcast values, the spell does 108 damage to all enemies in a line, while costing 26. 108/26 = 4.15 damage to all enemies per wind of magic spent. Comparing it to the others. Penulbral Pendulum. 45/16 = 2.81 (and less armour piercing damage). Blossom wind 26/14. = 1.85 (the debuff is nice, but doesn't make up for the damage differential). And finally fiery convoction, the supposed no1 spell? 60/22 = 2.72. Not even close to vangheists revenge.
Most of the spells are copies, with different animations. What about blight boil? Burning head? Searing doom? Flock of doom spam? The most important thing is not the spell, is the caster. Strong legendary lords can reach 2k kills on a single battle. Tyrion, Gelt, Kairos, Morathi, Manfred, and so on. There are "bad" lores sure, but overall they are quite well balanced.
2:10 : Yep. That's me. My mother always told me one day I'd fly, I don't think this is what she had in mind. How did I get here you ask? Well, _(Baba O'Riley starts playing)_ it all started at 2:07
id love to see legend discuss warhammer 3 with this guys. Wind of death not even on the list...... says foot of gork is bad the puts comet on the list.
When wind spells bounce back inside settlements and hit multiple times. Glorious
Totally forgot to mention but a great point. The bounce can be clutch
@@ColonelDamnedersit makes sieges as Vamp Counts ez mode. Just get the enemy fighting your blob on a narrow street, cast at a slight angle, and watch it delete the enemy.
I just download warhammer last week and i just found that out right now and i have to try it later
2:10 *record scratch* Yeap, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation...
Surprised the dwellers below didn't make the list. It does great damage while also slowing down units inside it. Also its in the lore of life which is super useful
Feels like this list fails without Dwellers being number 1
@@jasonhickle7584no way
Awesome video chief.
But man Wind of Death as an HM i just cannot get behind that spell is insanely powerful
I normally dont disagree with your videos and I love you content but i feel like Dwellers below should be in this list and fire storm as well
Yea 0 spells from lore of fire even being mentioned invalidates this list imo
Flames of Azgohr at the bottom, feels bad. Considering that you can greatly increase fire damage that enemies take AND all your units have fire resistance it really should be higher.
But the wind cost is quite high for a bombardment spell.
It’s only good on drazhoath because it’s cheap. I usually get more value out of a flame storm or burning head
@@bromomento3950 it’s only 3/2 winds more expensive than pit of shades with higher damage potential
@@joeyawiki3315 The other thing to consider is that, at least in campaigns, the chaos dwarves have so much more access to winds of magic than other races that you don't feel the high cost nearly as much.
it's just worse than hellhammer
2:10 Bro was blown out of the whole battlefield
Amber spear ftw!!! Truly the best spell in the game. Great list!
Yes, I paused the video and turned off my computer as soon as I confirmed it was number one. Great list!

I find it troubling, that the spell can slightly deviate from the target location
I see these spells also do Framerate damage.
If Pit of Shades is on this list, Talons of Night should at least be mentioned, as it's effectively the same spell
If you get the Flames of Azgohr close enough to a wall, it can go of beneath/inside it. Making all the spawned projectiles hit the wall as well, obliterating it in a singles cast.
I was so confused when you got to number one and I had yet to see warp lighting 😂.
Love you man, but no flamestorm, and dwellers below? I know dwellers has been nerfed a bit but they are both still fantastic imo.
That’s a lot of damage!
loving the videos, showing great production! :)
Could you make a video on who's the best good faction and best evil faction
Thanks for this list. I very lazily use magic and this is good prompting for me to get better. I actually believed your line about the amver spear

Biggest problem for me is to get the enemy to blob up and stay that way while the spell arrives.
Wind of death at honorable mention? I legit got over a thousand kills with one hit (Enemy reinforcements stuck at border of map)
I lost a multiplayer match to this spell... ennemy noctilus ended with 500 kills, at least 400 where from that one cast it was insane. He waited till i blobbed a bit and got a very nice sideways cast i didnt expect.
Is the ship hitting the units right next to it? It looked like the cannonballs would only hit units far away from the ship itself.
yes

Infernal Gateway my beloved

WoD should be top 5 undoubtedly. 100% AP plus quick speed. It wipes shit out. Also it is relatively quick to cast and hard to dodge.
Blade wind if the best spell for its cost outside of a LL. With Lord buffs its any of the metal spells on Gelt.

I would have liked to see that Burning Head or Flame Storm made the list instead of Blossom Wind. Even though they may not have the AP like Blossom the overall damage and leadership de-buff makes them much better spells.
Blight Boil not on the list? That's crazy. It simply deletes 3-4 units every time you cast it, it's insanely powerful.
Vindictive glare, but only because the Lord sniping capability on it is oh so good.
Please Make a video about the best single target damage spell
no need, it is spirit leech
Ignoring Dwelers from below. Hmmm
Wish there was a mention to what school fo magic they come from.

Did "Winds of Death" just got forgotten? It even got cheaper in Warhammer 3
Best damage spell is dread quake mortar. So amazing that its winds cost is 0
How you putting penumbral pendulum over wind of death 😂😂😂
I love final transmutation for sniping lords
wind of death is best damage , i thing the magic infos is wrong
Dwellers below😢
I guess thats campaign video? The super slow windup spells being that hight is laughable
No love for the spammable infantry killer that is Warp Lightning?
Its Nr.1...
Skaven deserves the most broken stuff! 😅 More warpstone YES! YES!
This is the least factual warhammer top 10 video ive ever seen. Pit of shades ranked worse then pendulum, right...
I think flock of doom.
Where is dwellers below und this list😢

Winds of death is just straight up better than the other wind spells you put above it. Gonna have to hard disagree there
........no......
