Love that Dr J is so sharp and remembers everything! He's 71!
You can tell he has treated his mind and body right ! 🙏💯
Black don't crack
i agree but he was wrong about that dunk story...Doc retired in 87 so it couldn't have been in 88...plus the Sonics won the title in 78-79 aginst the bullets so he was probably talkin about then...he had to be....but either way he in his 70's, i'm in my 40 and the years are starting to melt into one another..lol...Doc is the man, he will be with us for a long time still
71 is not that old. You’re saying it like He’s 91-101 He’s doing Great but 71 now days isn’t like the 1900’s anymore. Seriously. 40 the new 25. Lol
@@kingdingaling2469 I definitely disagree , 40 might be the new 25 mentality but people are killing themselves at a faster rate these days. People barely making it to 60 because they don’t take care of their bodies.
Including his ABA accomplishments he should be a top 10 player all time. Legendary.
Nba is not giving majority of players there proper due . Leaving out their stats like Artis Gilmore, wes unseld, Kareem and so on

He was Jordan's Jordan then MJ took it to another level
Not just a legend on the court , but an intelligent, well spoken, respectful person who pays homage to the older and newer players ,as well as family , friends , former teammates and coaches, and global figures who helped shape his view of the world around him and his place in it. Long live Julius ( DrJ ) Erving .
The One and Only Julius Dr. J Erving!!!! GOAT
Dr J the Denzel Washington of sports. Dude is just cool with no effort🔥🔥🔥

I agree.
Honestly immediately I thought : nobody gets dr j ever
I agree as well, and it's nice to see their growth and improvement with interviewing throughout the various episodes. 👍🏽

and now Darius Miles is in jail...
My first basketball “hero”. My love for the Philadelphia 76ers blossomed while he wore the red, white and blue. I am not the basketball fan I am w/o him and #6. I’m forever grateful for you Doc.
I'm with you all the way straight from North philly
Been watching Doc since he was in high school! Him and my older brother played together at Roosevelt High School
From UMASS to Rucker to Virginia to the NY Nets to Philadelphia.
....My Goat
He was dunking on cats like it was a video game. 😃
Please tell me some things you remember seeing him do. I've watched a lot of his NBA stuff but some say his best moves were not televised either from ABA or the Rucker
@@silewis9396 Just type in Dr. J at Harlem's Rucker Park on RUclips.
On the D Gerv ( Derrick Gervin) and Big Mo ( Paul Mokeski) show on Facebook we interviewed Doc and George together. I had Doc talk about the Olympic Trials etc....
Wow!!!
I love how excited Q & D miles get. I believe the players they’re interviewing
can feel their appreciation. They get to meet their heroes every other week. Keep up the good work fellas.
Dr J, Julius Erving my favorite pro basketball player of all time, aging but still sharp as a razor n very articulate as he was so gifted on and off the courts of basketball wood or blacktop....
Thank you for featuring Dr. J. People don't give him enough credit. I appreciate you giving him his flowers now!!!
Best show so far, but I'm biased. Dr. J. & Ice & Maravich were our 😢heroes. Growing up in the early '70's was MAGIC- wouldn't trade it. The 'fro, the red, white & blue leather Converse, the Spalding Dr. J. autographed ball. I remember him & Rick Barry's commercial & them saying to buy a Spalding rubber ball cause those leather balls were too slick. The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh. I was there for all of it. I'm a Sixer fan today because of that merger. I was a HUGE Nets fan. We watched MUCH more ABA than NBA in those days. Being in the South it was cool to catch Pistol Pete & Kareem was great too. But with J. & The SkyWalker & Iceman in the ABA why wouldn't we ? Nobody was outside pretending to be a Van Arsdale or JoJo White. And then the Bicentennial Champs! !! I remember that red white & blue ball seemed even more red white & blue. Doc & Hillman with those 'fros looked 10 feet tall. Doc was so cool but also seemed so kind doing those City of Hope spots. A real class act. Remember ? 🎶Hey Dr. J Where'd You Get Those Moves ?🎶 Anybody?
"I'm Still Waiting!!!!!" I Love That Answer 😂😂😂
My favorite part about every interview haha Dr J still got the swag!
I love Doc but Bird dropped 42 on him before Doc had to put those hands on him.
Dr.J still have Swagger!!
@Gary Bush Larry worked everybody tho
I don't like that answer. I understand it's hard for some competitors to admit someone got the best of them but come on...everybody got "got" before. Mammoud Adul Rauf worked Jordan, Gilbert Arenas worked Kobe, Durant worked Lebron etc...it's no shame in that..smh
Dr. J dunk on Micheal Cooper was one great in game dunk!
Still is. 😃
Those 2 dunks against Walton in the finals are also special, because those dunks were challenged.
Legendary.... Coop still prolly have nightmares
@@domino2oh-riginal I would lol coop face said it all lol
Absolutely 💯
When I was a kid, I looked in the newspaper Everyday to see Dr.J's stats from the night before. He set the blueprint for the modern NBA. Magic, Bird, MJ, Drexler, Dominique, McGrady, Carter, Kobe, LeBron , etc... ALL owe Dr. J! 🙌
The great Dr.J, (Statman) game changer one of the best ever, However Magic also changed the game and made it even better.
@@Andre-cl2qt ...Magic didn't change the game.
@@brucescott4261 Magic DID change the game, in the late seventies basketball became run n gun all about scoring only Magic came in and reintroduced passing and unselfishness and show time he was a Hugh part of that

Everytime there is a dr.j video someone always gotta bring up jordan there is a video everyday on jordan can you jordan worshippers let Doc have is own the sucker tried to steal the freetbrow dunk damn sick of hearing or seeing jordan crap. Im. Julius Erving fan im not a jordan fan tho he was good but in my opinion he got away with alot due to marketing and the fact they dont count docs ABA stats to me doc is the man not jordan and the real goat is bill russell i cant stand jordan if doc was in his prime in jordans prime doc would of served jordans butt
@@sactownsteelers6748 ...I concur, totally! Doc has more highlights than everybody. When Jordan became the face of the NBA, most of the former's highlights "disappeared!" or were presumed "lost!"
Man, you can still tell why Doc was such a cultural phenomenon just off his charisma and cool alone. This man fr could've succeeded on so many career paths but I'm so glad we got to see his creativity on the court
This very thought popped in my mind yesterday and I said “nah dr j don’t really do interviews” and I’ll be damn here it is. Y’all da goats for this
I said it before, but ima say it again. To The Players Tribune team, find the highlights/plays that the guests talk about and show them while they speak about the plays, that'd be fire! Yall got the resources to do it.
That would be tuff 👌🏾👌🏾🔥
Exactly, we’d love to see doc banging on elvin

Yeah I've suggested that too. They could clear that footage with the NBA too.

Class act. I met him when my wife and I went on our honeymoon. He was at a golf event that was in the King of Prussia area. He is a true gentleman. He was checking out my wife (she is fine) and I caught him doing it. I was honored that the Doc was checking out my bride. If it was anyone else I might not have been so cool about it. Lol. I am from Philly area, so he is royalty to me. I even met his children at our local barber shop in Conshohocken PA known as Benny’s Barber Shop when they were young guys. That was long before I met Mr. Erving. He is class, personified. He was so damned good on the floor and nobody could stop him. We love you Doc!
Knuckleheads season 6 like the ‘98 Bulls; total domination of the basketball podcast league. Much respect!
Dr.J baseline scoop is still one of the best moves in the NBA. Great Interview btw, bringing the legends on the show, hoping to see more of em like jerry west, bill rusell and more.

Prime Ron Harper was incredible. I would love watch him here!!
Honestly " PRIME" ( pre knee injury) Ron Harper was the closest to MJ Ive seen.Even more than Kobe.No exaggeration.Quickness, speed, handles, finisher, defense ( steals) and just an overall game. You can tell a player is great when his athleticism is taken away and he can still be an effective player.

Elgin Baylor had that double pump shot. He was asked why he double pumped his shots, and he said because the normal shot was not exciting enough.
Great job Q and D. Julius gave props to Hempstead, my hometown. We saw him play in high school and with the Nets regularly.
I remember The Bomb Squad! I often think of their nickname, and wonder why nobody speaks of them. Also the 76ers' pre-game "Dunk-Around."
I didn’t know Doc went to the finals in Philly that many times. Glad he’s proud of being in championship contention consistently, in today’s era, folks rather lose in the first round than in the nba finals.
The Doctor never cursed. CLASS ACT
Legendary guest on this podcast I don't know how all the smoke can top with what the knuckleheads be bringing not one bad episode at all all guest that u wanted to see and ask questions u been thinking about for years they do it here
Much respect. You didn't ask the "same ol' - same ol'" stuff. Easy to tell how much both of you guys and Doc enjoyed the conversation which I'm sure is not easy since he gets so many of the same questions over the years. True love of the game on both sides. And I love how Doc brings back some old school names - beyond the legends most of us know. Giving them respect and I know it means a lot the families of theses men so they are not forgotten. #6 was always my favorite and you contributed a real gift here with this interview.
I had the privilege of meeting Doc at UCLA, my and Willie Nauls helped put on a yearly All Star game. That man changed my life, like many others I started to copy his mannerisms both on and off the court, even his nickname Doc. Great interview guys...much love.
Love this one because I grew on on dr j at end on NBA life but my uncles and big brother told me how cold he was I seen a lot of interviews this was real salute to y’all continue your rise
Historic interview Quentin Richardson best Interview alltime he asked good questions and he did not get long winded and over talk
So true, really interesting questions start to finish and Dr. J. is so eloquent and perceptive in describing the game and the players and his understanding of what
matters in life. I loved it when he was asked about rivalries, and the Lakers championship series specifically, and he immediately talked about the 6ers Celtics division championship games. For us Philly fans they were such intense series year after year and I was not surprised that Dr. J. said the finals against L.A. were almost anticlimactic, beating the Celtics was everything!!!
Dr. J and the Philadelphia 76ers was my favorite player and Team. I was so excited when he finally won his championship Ring.🏀🏀🏀🏀✊🏾
