The difference between them and an Olympic level climber, is about the same as the difference between a brand new climber and them.

What i wanted to write: "Comon I know toby is really good but it's not fair to put him up with actual competition climbers" After seeing his last boulder I am just baffled by the skill of this guy yet again
Yeah! We felt like it could have swung either way and Toby might have felt he drew the short straw, but having set the boulders I DID suspect he might enjoy the last one!!🤣
I was going to write something.. well, identical to this. Glad to see I'm not the only one thinking that! Toby might have started with parkour but he's absolutely a climber deep down :)
Question from a casual fan: Do Zach and Maddie know each other before this? Seemed like when Maddie mentioned the speed being too fast with Zac, he ignored her saying and said it himself and it seemed rude to me but I'm willing to be wrong or if there's a reason for how I interpreted that 1 moment?
1:02:43 ... I mean ... what? How is she just hanging there? One arm, after that jump, chilin. Olympians are a different breed, I did a literal spit-take. Man.
1 hour of local/friendly competition with top climbers and awesome boulder problems!?? Hannah, thank you for making this happen. Also: top production quality! The animations for the score charts were pleasing to the eye.
As soon as I saw that last boulder I wanted to see Toby on it. But a minute later I realised Erin had to climb it aswell and I was even more hyped! She is amazing!!!! So gentle, yet so frigging strong. The way she just hooked one arm and was haging out is mindblowing. She is a different breed! Major props to all climbers! I am so glad it was you guys and not me
When I first saw the length of the video, I thought there was no chance i would watch to the end. But then it was so engaging that I was at the end before I realised. Great video guys.
Zach and Maddie's channel has been one of my favorite recent finds in climbing RUclips. Love to see them included here as well as everyone else! Great idea and execution on this video Hannah & routesetters!
Hi Hannah, I was at Substation when this was being filmed, it was such a pleasure to see you in person and watch some amazing climbing! Fantastic video
Ah, that's so cool - I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the boulders climbed IRL! It was a really fun day to organise and I hope we get to do it again soon!
I was a bit reluctant to watch a 1 hour bouldering video but... wow! better than any film or series, amazingly well filmed and a very exciting ending :D
Wow, thank you! We weren’t sure how an hour episode would land but we wanted it to feel immersive and as real-time as possible, like a IRL competition - really glad you enjoyed the format. 😊
Love the idea and great editing. Always love seeing Toby climbing, and it's awesome to see Erin's olympic level skills compared to high level climbers.
First off, absolute banger episode! Second, when i saw Erin got put in a team i instantly felt dang.. this is unfair, unless someone else got janja or Toby on theirs :P but turned out a lot closer than i expected. Great setting and great team distribution!

I enjoyed this video from start to end, great pairings of even greater climbers. Thank you for all the work you put into it, making it such an enjoyable watch.
Did not really know most of the competitors, mainly Toby, so watching the lads struggle on the third boulder, then watching Erin's attempts was even more impressive, her level of control is insane
truly... Im mostly here for Toby as well.. But geez, the way Erin moves is very impressive.... she is like a super hero, I mean look at those poses. Feels like female climbers in general have a flexibility advantage, the way they effortlessly move their legs in ways I rarely see in male climbers.
I am not a climber, but I absolutely love watching climbing videos! It all started when I accidentally found Magnus' channel, and wow, it opened the door to the amazing world of climbing! Now I’m completely hooked! Thank you for an awesome video-I can’t wait for the next competition with more pros and amateur climbers! It’s going to be so exciting!
Thank you for watching and for your comment! Cool to hear you’ve found climbing content through RUclips. Magnus’ channel seems to be the first stop for a lot of people, and new climbers, especially with the cross-sport collabs he’s been doing. 😊
I love this video, great idea. ❤ One idea to make it maybe a bit more dynamic: give everyone a first flash attempt, and then do a round-robin. A top takes an athlete out of the round-robin. If the total time for the boulder is up, finish the round. People can watch and cheer each other after the flush attempt. Additional cool thing about this: you don’t have resting time without someone on the wall. People see all the athletes in short cycles.
Everything was amazing. Very cool concept with amateurs and pros on one team. The execution was also amazing. Super fun looking boulders, awesome climbers, great camerawork and editing. But most importantly it looked like everyone was having a lot of fun. I hope we can see more events like this in the future!
insane video production ! congrats hannah for the work . be careful to put too much pression on your videos and not overwork yourself we also enjoy the simpler videos
This was a great watch! Thank you so much for setting this up and producing it! Amazing guests too :). Feedback: I think I'd have loved to see everyone on every climb, both combinations would work, I think: pros first or pros second.
You're so welcome - it was so fun to work on and we want to do more in future, for sure. Thanks for the feedback, I think it would have been more fun for our guests that way too. Luckily we did get footage of everyone climbing all the boulders once the comp has finished, so that should be fun to edit together.
great idea, great competition. Wouldve loved a pro to climb the second boulder to see how its done and have the comparison which i really enjoyed on the other problems. Incredible how easy Erin makes these climbs look, though her having to take boulder 3 slowly shows why the amateurs struggled with it
@@NathanBettsYay! I was thinking the same, really wanted to see some attempts from the ones that didn't get to try the boulder in the comp. The format was really good, but I'm curious to know how the others would have done 😊

this was so much fun to watch! Held my breath a couple of times as I was watching and had my jaw just drop seein Erin do the electric... like omg... loved it!
Without seeing any of the content and not being a super frequent viewer just had to say, the presentation, title cards, transitions and class of the edit is Netflix level shit, tremendous job I’m shocked to see this on RUclips.
Ok feedback after watching that you obviously have 100% right to ignore: I know this is a fun RUclipsr bash competition of good vibes and comradery, but the presentation and polish of it all makes it feel a huge shame that it couldn’t be taken more seriously at the same time. Erin Mcniece is literally a superhuman monster that demands a force of fairplay. Its obvious that if Erin just did every block she would have scored full points. But that’s not to say power imbalance isnt fun, its SUPER fun but it needs to be forced fair rather than honor system-ed. If you said “the amateurs MUST compete in two boulders” the entire issue would be moot. But giving the grace burden to Erin to let everyone have a try, is just less engaging because the “content” curtain feels pulled back at this moment and jt feels just “for fun” rather than “lets see”. My suggestion if you do another one of these is put an overwhelming standard on the pro, whomever it might be. Maybe on a team alone? Then imagine, the pro loses, its because the outrageous circumstance, but the pro wins? Its because the mountainous gap of experience and skill. Win-win for everyone involved. None of this might really apply to the target audience you have, but I think it would limit proof your content to reach heights where it could be in conversations far further than that of RUclips content. (which doesn’t imply anything wrong with algorithmic content, but simply limits the potential)
Each amateur had to climb two boulders, hence the even distribution between pro and amateur. I appreciate your feedback - we’re going to take it next level soon.
Thanks so much!! Passing on all the kind words to him. We definitely have some bigger plans up our sleeves, just have to find ways to make them happen!
I love the amateur/experienced team combo so we can 1. Really see the difference between how pros climb versus recreational climbers and 2. See the corrections pros give to amateurs on these tricky boulders. Really great video!

I know this is a fun RUclipsr bash competition of good vibes and comradery, but the presentation and polish of it all makes it feel a huge shame that it couldn’t be taken more seriously at the same time.
Wow! Excellent video, glad it turned out alright for you and also there was such a tight competition.
Such a great video, shout out to the editor!! Can’t wait to see what other ambitious projects y’all put out😎
Thanks so much!! Passing on all the kind words to him. We definitely have some bigger plans up our sleeves, just have to find ways to make them happen!
This was amazing! So fun to watch and I literally yelled at my screen twice seeing Erin look so casual on those last two boulders.
Really great concept and even better execution!!
So glad you liked it! It was a fun one!
I was there when Hannah and co were setting this! Too shy to say hello though 😅
Emil and Louis are two who popped into my head right away. Great video!
Thank you!
The edit went HARD in this one! Wow, really nice one!
Appreciate it!
I love the amateur/experienced team combo so we can 1. Really see the difference between how pros climb versus recreational climbers and 2. See the corrections pros give to amateurs on these tricky boulders. Really great video!
1 minute in and I already LOVE this new series!!
Huge props to Wayne for sponsoring this 👏
