I love Old Skool BTS, and this era has a special place in my heart.💜 I would not change a thing about the 'Path' (a Pre-debut song that always makes me cry. You should react to it) that BTS chose, including their DEBUT song 'No More Dream'. Dream is a continuing theme in BTS songs to this day. Their 'Path' was destiny, and to me, it was perfect. Another theme with BTS is the "Butterfly Effect" if you change something in the past, it is unavoidable that other things will change, too. Some of my favorite songs and albums come from this era. Two of my most played albums ' O RU L8 2 ' and 'Dark and Wild' came from this era. Those 💿 CD s live in my car and are played the most. I applaud for being diligent by starting from the beginning it's the only way to get to really, really know, and appreciate BTS. I think it pays the most respect to their hard work. The Bangtan Universe (the fictional storyline also called The BU) starts with I Need You. In my opinion, I think it's something to explore much later in your BTS journey. I had explored their whole discography before going back and exploring again with an eye to the storyline. It's a very complicated story involving time travel and The Butterfly Effect. It is not necessary to know anything about the storyline to enjoy the songs and MVs that are linked to it. That's just my opinion. I think you would get the most out of continuing The Rise of Bangtan series and jumping into the music here and there that you hear in the episodes. There are so many ways to explore BTS! Just a tip....if the captions are "auto-generated" they are always nonsense. Their early MVs were also on a channel called 1TheK which provided accurate subtitles. At the end RM said "To all the youngsters without dreams" (in english..lol). They started with a harder image...they were only going to be a hiphop group at first. RM mentioned it in The Rise of Bangtan that he was upset that the concept changed.

Hello Peachy, Seeing as you are going in chronological order AND watching The Rise of Bangtan, can I suggest you consider watching Rookie King? It’s the very first reality show BTS did. It’s very relevant to the time period of the MVs you are watching. Not just educational though, it’s quite hilarious. There’s some iconic BTS moments you’ll see elsewhere in other compilation videos or even in The Rise of Bangtan series itself but I always like having the context of seeing BTS content in its original state. The series is 8 episodes long. Apologies this is going to sound a bit complicated but I recommend watching the first 4 episodes through BangtanSubs RUclips channel, episode 5 through BangtanSubs website and episode 6-8 through Channel Bangtan. This last RUclips channel has all 8 episodes but the first few are very poor quality but by episode 6 the quality is much better. Things you’ll see in Rookie King - which I think are not to be missed - are rapline performance of Sartoori rap. In a small club with passionate ARMYs so close to BTS, it’s a great, hyped atmosphere. This is a song off their 2nd album O!RUL8,2? (Pronounced oh, are you late too?) You’ll also see lots of behind MV shooting, hear Jin do his audition song, hear the vocal line serenade ARMY in a park plus heaps & heaps of pranks & fun games.
Lol, be aware that even watching the MV's in order, you will not "grasp the storyline", lolol. It isn't meant to be grasped right off the bat. It was more of a mystery that ARMY had fun trying to figure out and theorize over. Also, in order to really get the whole storyline, you would have to be reading the storyline related Notes that were released with each album. Once the storyline started, every hard copy album had a collection of Notes that were basically a fictional collection of journal entries that helped fill in a lot of the holes in the story.

BTS started as a hip hop group. They debuted at the time that every other boy group tried to copy BigBang's edgy hip hop style after BigBang started breaking into the global market in their Alive/Still alive era. BTS later developed their own style.
Each chapter of the rise of bangtan has a behind the scenes video and another bonus content video (except chapters 1 and 2 which do not have bonus content) could you react to those that are not very long and are fun before moving on to chapter 2, to view it in an orderly and complete manner. they did train hard and still do but they did from day one danced like kings there is the dance practice that you can also watch when done watching each mv in order I really suggest you looking into the dance practice and behind the scene. I love Old Skool BTS, and this era has a special place in my heart.💜 I would not change a thing about the 'Path' (a Pre-debut song that always makes me cry. You should react to it) that BTS chose, including their DEBUT song 'No More Dream'. Dream is a continuing theme in BTS songs to this day. Their 'Path' was destiny, and to me, it was perfect. Another theme with BTS is the "Butterfly Effect" if you change something in the past, it is unavoidable that other things will change, too. Some of my favorite songs and albums come from this era. Two of my most played albums ' O RU L8 2 ' and 'Dark and Wild' came from this era. Those 💿 CD s live in my car and are played the most. I applaud for being diligent by starting from the beginning it's the only way to get to really, really know, and appreciate BTS. I think it pays the most respect to their hard work. Major props👍🙏for caring about the lyrics and taking the time to look them up, cuz the boys literally put their blood Sweat and Tears into their lyrics. The Bangtan Universe (the fictional storyline also called The BU) starts with I Need You. In my opinion, I think it's something to explore much later in your BTS journey. I had explored their whole discography before going back and exploring again with an eye to the storyline. It's a very complicated story involving time travel and The Butterfly Effect. It is not necessary to know anything about the storyline to enjoy the songs and MVs that are linked to it. That's just my opinion. I think you would get the most out of continuing The Rise of Bangtan series and jumping into the music here and there that you hear in the episodes. There are so many ways to explore BTS! Just a tip....if the captions are "auto-generated" they are always nonsense. Their early MVs were also on a channel called 1TheK which provided accurate subtitles. At the end RM said "To all the youngsters without dreams" (in english..lol). They started with a harder image...they were only going to be a hiphop group at first. RM mentioned it in The Rise of Bangtan that he was upset that the concept changed.

They do have great dance practices videos and behind the scenes videos, Halloween specials, Festa yearly, and much more. RM and J Hope had to cover their faces for the first few videos because they were concerned "too ugly" by Korean beauty standards for idols. It's Sucked and was stupid. Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. Great song. So catchy. JK rapping is chef's kiss. When I 1st heard this i was like oh i like this. This one is a hit. Remember BTS debuted as a hip hop group. Their debut songs were catchy and they were cute. The rapline had promise. Yes, JK is a sub rapper. If u love rap and have listened to it all ur life u can see this is cringe. But for us who are not rap fans we liked this. It was catchy and still is catchy. I listen to all their rap and i don't even like rap like that. Listen to Tony Montana by Suga ft. Jimin pls special gift to us a few yrs back. Jimin can rap. They all can. And it's been almost 10 years since debut. snorts. Back than they did as the agency suggested. They did not know what they were doing. But they worked hard. Going to America during American Hustle Life they learned what real rap is. They grew from that experience a lot. They trained for 2-3 years except Jimin. Jimin trained 6-8 months. Than they practice for this stage for 3 months. 12-16 hrs daily. They run on treadmills while singing. They had passion. They had drive and yeah they were angry. But they worked so hard and true army noticed. They grew slow and steadily but they always had more ppl then they predicted show up to concerts and other stuff. They truly are a gem of a group. The BU starts with I Need U. it one them a really important award. RM said in Eng at the end "To all the youngsters without dreams. HAHA." Jimin was the high vocal here. Just One Day is the total opposite of this. Great song too. Their choreo is strong. I suggest u watch a dance practice and a live. Pls read these lyrics to the song. They are the most accurate. One of my favorite quotes was when the boys were watching their debut stage and Hobi said “You can see the passion in our eyes” & Tae in all seriousness replies “It’s the eyeliner” 😂.
RM wore glasses because ppl did not like his eyes. We love his dragon eyes and we are glad he stopped letting others affect him so. Also, i think he had eye surgery. There is a live where he says he can see us better. Something like that.

It's a track about asking 'What is your dream rather than being pushed by parents, society forcing you to do?' It's a bit of a critism of South Korean Culture of pushing kids so hard into moulds rather than finding out what it is that your child needs. They have the highest child suicide rate they over took Japan. It's so bad teachers are also committing suicide. who are being hounded by parents if their child isn't getting the marks (grades) they want them to get even when they are sending their children not just to school but to hours of 'Cram school'.

BTS Debuted in 2013 as a Hip Hop Idol group. They were ages 15 (Jungkook) to 20 (JIN and SUGA) in this video. This is actually their debut album (2 Cool 4 Skool), title track (No More Dream). And 'We Are Bulletproof' was the second MV release. They performed both of these songs on their debut stage. BTS were originally supposed to be a purely rap group. But Bang PD saw that they wouldn't have a chance to make it with just rap. So he change it to a Hip Hop Idol group with dance and singing as well. They have some really great R&B tracks also. The best thing about their music is the way they mix genre's and stay true to who they are as a team.
Bang PD signed RM in 2010 (he was 15/16), and he already had some years as a rapper, and he was in underground rap Since age 13, like SUGA. So Bang PD held auditions and scouted until 2012, when the group members were confirmed. But they were all trainees for a while. You need to finish the introduction video to get more information. So a total of 3 years training together. until debut on June 13, 2013. Also, Jungkook was the youngest when he joined at age 13. He was 15 when they debuted. These guys are brothers. They will even tell you that.
When you start out from the bottom, sharing a one bedroom apartment, and working together to become a unit/team that flows as one, that will make you a family. They were a hip hop group, and they studied day and night. And all seven of them have their bachelors degrees and some have their masters degrees. Wrap your head around that for a minute. That's how hard they worked.

"No more dreams" is aimed at teenagers struggling with the rigidity of the South Korean school system and the lack of future prospects. Like many BTS's songs, has a motivational nature and invites them to follow their dreams, rather than fall victim to society's expectations, which are criticized and ridiculed with puns and sarcasm. Seeing as you are going in chronological order AND watching The Rise of Bangtan, can I suggest you consider watching Rookie King? It’s the very first reality show BTS did. It’s very relevant to the time period of the MVs you are watching. Not just educational though, it’s quite hilarious. There’s some iconic BTS moments you’ll see elsewhere in other compilation videos or even in The Rise of Bangtan series itself but I always like having the context of seeing BTS content in its original state.
The series is 8 episodes long. Apologies this is going to sound a bit complicated but I recommend watching the first 4 episodes through BangtanSubs RUclips channel, episode 5 through BangtanSubs website and episode 6-8 through Channel Bangtan. This last RUclips channel has all 8 episodes but the first few are very poor quality but by episode 6 the quality is much better.
Things you’ll see in Rookie King - which I think are not to be missed - are rapline performance of Sartoori rap. In a small club with passionate ARMYs so close to BTS, it’s a great, hyped atmosphere. This is a song off their 2nd album O!RUL8,2? (Pronounced oh, are you late too?)
You’ll also see lots of behind MV shooting, hear Jin do his audition song, hear the vocal line serenade ARMY in a park plus heaps & heaps of pranks & fun games.

Lol, be aware that even watching the MV's in order, you will not "grasp the storyline", lolol. It isn't meant to be grasped right off the bat. It was more of a mystery that ARMY had fun trying to figure out and theorize over. Also, in order to really get the whole storyline, you would have to be reading the storyline related Notes that were released with each album. Once the storyline started, every hard copy album had a collection of Notes that were basically a fictional collection of journal entries that helped fill in a lot of the holes in the story.
