- The new Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport is a handsome large family car that’s great to drive, performs well on the motorway, and it will look sweet on your driveway. It’s the value-for-money choice in a sector swimming with talent.
A lot lighter and more affordable than last time, it remains an impeccable offering that’s got the power to tempt buyers away from exec saloons. It’s safe, well-equipped with lots of tech, and its top engines have enough power to cope admirably with a full load.
OSV takes a closer look at what it’s all about with our 2017 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport review.

You guys always provide the best reviews available. You tell it as it is and badge snobbery isn't relevant.
Thanks for the great feedback! We aim to be as impartial as possible 👍
@@OsvUkVehicleSupply and by the way, I was born and bred in Broadbridge Heath and believe you're based in Field Place !
Awesome car, best value for money in the segment for sure.
I drive the Commodore Calais the Australianised. It’s was 5 months old, had 4000km on it when I bought it. Because the Insignia was designed as a Buick Rega & Commodore, a Vauxhall & Opel explains it’s size. What’s left of the Engineering dept in Australia have put a lot of effort into the cars ride & handing. I love the way my car drives it’s FWD but you wouldn’t know it when you drive it It is very neutral in its handling. The 2.0 litre petrol gives me about 8l/100 mated with a beautiful 9 speed Auto which I hardly feel. Unfortunately the car will be disappearing this year a victim of the PSA sale. It was never marketed here with the PSA sale being announced almost the same day the car was released here.
Just bought one to replace my old 2010 model. Picking it up Saturday, can't wait - only 12,500 miles and £11,495 = bargain
Fantastic stuff, enjoy your new car! Thanks for watching 👍
Diesel or petrol?
@@yowhaatsup Diesel. Had it a few weeks now, it's a great motor.

I had to use rentals cpl years back for month. First was a 2020 bmw 5 series which I had two weeks and then followed by 2018 insignia and gotta say the insignia was better to drive and more room. I was very surprised.
Oh wow, that is surprising! Thanks for sharing your experience 👍 Be sure to subscribe for more in-depth vehicle reviews - bit.ly/319ZKoT
Lovely to drive and I really like the way it looks definitely underestimated cracking car.
gorgeous car
Much better looking and great value, much underrated car, as badge snobbery rules.
Thankyou, this was a good and thorough review.

Insignia > Passat
I have rode in many taxi insignias and they felt a bit cramped at the rear, but seems like a good car
Hi Matthew, are you looking for a new car at the moment?
Do this model have electric folding mirrors
Why she dont have Opel sign?
In the UK Opel cars are sold as Vauxhall, as Vauxhall used to be a British brand and Brits still think it's patriotic
@@Edvard.Munchkin brits dont think its patriotic they have no say in it! Vauxhall and Opel are owned by General Motors of the US. The Vauxhall name remained in UK for the same reason the Opel name remained in Germany. Thats what they were named and where they operated when GM bought them. The Insignia is made in Germany.
@@gbwildlifeuk8269 Opel/Vauxhall is owned by PSA now for the past 3 years. The Vauxhall name was kept for its marketing and domestic reputation. To kill off the name of a former British brand, and replace it with a German one would have been anarchy. Yes the insignia is built in Russelsheim, I drive one.
What idiot decided that intrusive, oversized OSV logo dominating the lower-right of the screen was a good idea..?
Opel

I have one and there is a lot of road noise when driving on the motorway.
Change your tyres
@@gbwildlifeuk8269 the tyres I have are the continental ones that came with the car. I thought these were meant to be pretty quiet.
I have one and there's almost no noise whatsoever!!!
@@Aussieedits-uo9nz the tyres that came with my insignia were Hankook fitted with anti road noise foam glued inside the tyres behind the tread that runs on the road. Seems you got the poor mans version.
Extract from press release: The tyres for the latest Insignia will also feature Hankook’s new ‘Sound Absorber’ noise reduction technology, which uses a polyurethane foam inlay sheet on the inside of the tread to minimize the cavity noise felt in the cabin.
