He wasn't created by Walt Disney. Scrooge came from the mind of Carl Barks, a former animator who chose to pursue a career in comics, helping to build and flesh out the world and characters of the Disney Duck Universe. At one point a story called for Donald and the boys to interact with a rich, reclusive relative. So Barks, inspired from both his own work in animation and from a well-known Dickensian miser, brought Scrooge McDuck into being back in 1947. The character grew to become so popular that he eventually became the classic character many of us love today.
He's voiced by David Tennant only for the DuckTales reboot. Alan Young, who began voicing the character in 1983's MICKEY'S CHRISTMAS CHARACTER, served as the official voice of Scrooge McDuck until his death in 2016. Since then, he's also been voiced by Eric Bauza (the official voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck as of last year,) in THE LEGEND OF THE THREE CABALLEROS, Enn Reitel (the voice of Billy the Puppet in 2006's DEAD SILENCE,) in KINGDOM HEARTS 3, and John Kassir (the voice of the Crypt Keeper in TALES FROM THE CRYPT,) in the new Paul Rudish Mickey Mouse cartoons.
I don't normally do this but 8 and 9 seem patently wrong. Scrooge's father did not teach him to "get them before they get you". He taught him to not be as trusting and Scrooge's philosophy is "be tougher than the toughis and sharper than the sharpies, and to make it square". Now that doesn't mean he's a saint, the scene at the Titanic is from the story "The Empire Builder from Calisota" where we do see a more dishonest and darker Scrooge to be sure but that story is in itself part of a grander story.
McDuck didn't hustle or cheat to get his money. He did it by following the motto his father taught him back in the Highlands: "Work smarter, not harder." His Number-One dime inspired McDuck to save up and move to America to invest in his fortune. Honestly, to assume people need to fight dirty to get rich is nothing short of despicable.
I saw a lot of inaccuracies and mistakes in this video. The biggest one to note was the segment covering Scrooge McDuck being aboard the the Titanic. Obviously, the person following Scrooge is not a guard on the ship. He is a character called Bombie the Zombie. He's actually carrying a VooDoo doll, not a gun. In the comics, it's revealed that Scrooge McDuck was so bitter of dealing with people trying to get the best of him, that he shamelessly engaged in shady business deals. When he was in Africa, he couldn't strike a deal to buy the land of some African villagers, the leader was able to see right through Scrooge's trickery. Scrooge mocked their gods and went into a tirade. The leader had him tied up, humiliated and cast out of the village. In a fit of rage, Scrooge went to the closest outpost, hired a gang of thugs and came back to the village to raze it down to the ground and beat up the villagers. To top it off, Scrooge put on a disguise and posed as a concerned samaritan and fooled the village leader into signing over the land to him, making the leader believe that Scrooge wouldn't get the land. When the village leader found out what he had done, he cursed Scrooge to be followed by Bombie for the rest of his life. In fact, Bombie was trapped in that iceberg that struck the Titanic. Scrooge surmised that Bombie's persistence to catch him literally dragged the iceberg into the path of the ship. So Scrooge shares the blame for the ship sinking in the first place.
This video reads as if no one involved in the production has any knowledge of the character beyond his animated appearances. Also the phrase "was created by Walt Disney in 1947" is offensive on so many levels even if it was corrected later in the video.
#5 is wrong. In the original Duck Tales series he stated that he had $72,000,000,000,000,000. That's 72 quadrillion dollars. $31.2bn is way off from his declared wealth. I like you guys, but did you even watch the show?
To clarify the relationship between Roosevelt and mcduck, they met in the North Dakota Badlands when Scrooge was working with cattle. They also met up in Panama several years later.
My theory in hopes of defending the character: Scrooge: I would gladly offer my soul to make the world a better place in which to live happily. *gives me his soul* You don't still think that business is a very bad thing, do you? Myself: I do feel that I should apologize for all of the hate I allowed to control me. *feels Scrooge's soul in me* You actually offer you soul freely? Scrooge: Of course! Myself: I will do all in my power to ensure that you never have to suffer in poverty again. You will definitely be the wealthiest of all. The only kind of money you don't want or need is blood money. Scrooge: Blood money? Myself: Yes! Blood money comes from killing and it will condemn you as it did many others. Blood that is spilt becomes the iron that will forever be one with the core of the spirit and such sinful steel can never be removed no matter the efforts. I have much metal within me that overflows. I am cursed. You must be better than me. Don't allow any of the wickedness that I let rule me over to take you over. Scrooge: Will do!

Im feeling to watch th is cartoon right now i was a big fan of the Disney Duck series from Darkwing Duck, to Mighty Duck and Scrooge McDuck not so much was into Donald Duck but he was a view at times

Exactly: in the Don Rosa canon it is clearly stated the he only committed ONE dishonest act in his life, when he destroyed the african village whose shaman refused to sell him the tribe's land, and he would pay for his crime for decades to come as the shaman sent Bombie the Zombie after him. But even leaving Don Rosa's work aside, neither Barks nor most other authors never depicted him as a dishonest businessma- um, businessduck: he is stingy to a fault, usually doesn't pay or treat his employees very well, but never he stoops so low as to make money through dirty means.
