Tip 1. leave it sitting on shelf and get a simulator
Thanks for the tips! The DJI FPV is quite intuitive I might say but still there's no harm in practicing on safer modes! 👍👍
Yea if you play it safe first flight is easy on the actual craft in normal mode, you will only crash by flying unsafe and or on manual or sport mode. 😉 I can't fly in normal that long now unless I'm flying through trees to land, make use of the object detect.
Been flying analog for years, and got my hands of this beast! Straight to manual mode first flight with digital.. Was a hole new experience with the view!
He'll ya
Thanks for the VelociDrone Sim tip, very cool you can use the remote! Thanks
So glad I started FPV flying a few years back. This DJI FPV drone is amazing and I own 35 FPV drones but now no more FS and once you tune this thing to you it's like a freaken robot in the sky.
Well, this was a timely video to come up on my feed. Just flew my semi-new DJI FPV drone today for the first time today. Had a nice, wide-open area and kept it in "Normal" and "Sport" modes. Didn't try anything fancy, kept my flight above 80 feet. The only other FPV experience I have comes from flying a Tinyhawk 2. I use Velocidrone & Liftoff sims. Was not aware I could use those with the RC from the DJI FPV. Great info in this one, Mike. Much appreciated.
Great video. Great tips. I have just got this drone and downloaded a few Simulators to practice on after trying to fly Tiny Whoops and struggling a bit. Will definitely get plenty of stick time on the sims before attempting manual on drone.
Thank for the tips this helps a lot
Important and precious tips. You really are absolutely right, especially with a drone as fast as this DJI release. Congratulations !! Like guaranteed here for you.👍👍👍✔🟢
Thank you!
you fly through those trees so smoothly!! i love watching your videos BTW!
Thank you so much for these nice words, I appreciate it!
Once again, excellent. Thank you.
Very important tips, thank you!
Thanks for the Info Sir!
I just like that the DJI FPV have flight modes that can match your level of skills with flying drones. Whether you're a beginner or a pro, both can have fun with the FPV!
You can still use manual tuned to a simple safe mode that won't flip over or drive straight into the ground pushing forward. Then get comfortable enough to allow flips over time.
Simulator Simulator Simulator!!!
Great video with great tips!
Love it mate, you talk so much sense. Out of interest what are your rates for 5 inch and cinewhoop flying? not sure if you've ever mentioned it before on your channel. cheers
Thanks mate! I fly with 467 degrees (for yaw pitch and roll) on my 5" quads :)
Very very good video with perfect recommendations. Thank you so much. Which Apps /software for training did you recommend?
Top video mate. Praise the pause button 🙌
Just the video that I need. Thanks for the tips!
You bet!
Your videos are excellent. I'm trying the simulator to prep for m mode. No issue with Normal and sport. M is much harder than i thought, or the sim sucks.
Good video and tips Mike
Thank you sharing.
Great tips! This is what I'm doing :)
The temptation to fly in manual straightaway is really strong with this drone! Keep resisting tho until you're confident enough. And may the force be with you guys! 😅
Sport is just fine with me for doing 60+ mph and having a wicked time.
I’m just looking at getting into flying drones, do you think this is a good place to start or should I buy a drone that doesn’t cost so much and is easier to fix when I crash?
@@ConicalRamirez great place to start, wicked technology, Flys so far , Flys fast, Flys a long time. 😀. It is difficult to crash if you don't fly like an idiot. Basically stabilizes itself so unless you intentionally take risks and fly in sport or manual then it should be great for a learner.
@@ConicalRamirez get a fpv drone that carbon fiber. Cost a lot less. Cheaper to fix. U can fix it urself.
FPV Drones like nazgul v2 is built like a tank.
I would not start with dji fpv if u want to dive and flip and have fun.
@@ConicalRamirez I’m selling my first few drones and getting this one. Between learning batteries, beta flight, binding procedure , and other stuff I’m moving to the DJI FPV. It’s a much more simplistic approach and will save you the headache of the DIY fpv stuff. Plus having built in DVR means no extra cost of GoPro right away and 20 min flight time is way better than 3-6 minutes with regular lipos
Thanks for the tips! Have a few questions:
Do the paid drone apps you mentioned have parameters you can set to make the sim feel just like the DJI FPV model?
Also, can you adjust factors like air density/elevation?
Ordering mine in the next week or two. I’m new to drone piloting and will definitely take your advice. I’m pretty excited to start my Top Gun training how ever long it takes! 🛩 👩✈️
How have you liked the drone so far ?
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
All great tips!
Great tips
Cool vid Mike. Thanks
Pleasure 🙌🏼
Got mine last week. Its my first foray into FPV, been flying the Mini for a couple years and def consider myself above avg. on that. Got into the fpv Sim after it arrived and realized I didnt know Sh!t! Definitely demoralizing....haven't even had the balls to throw it into Manual yet. LOL. (ps- the fpv is absolutely incredible! A whole new beast. Cant wait to work my way up to Manual)
very helpful. I bought simulator as you recommended.
Great video! Thank you!
Hey man! glad to see you in the comments, hope you're doing well 🙌🏼
Hey thank you so much for you all your tips ! Always super helpful ! Can you please share with me which rates you put in velocidrone ? I tried to do a copy and paste of manufacturer rate on DJI FPV but when I set it on velocidrone the drone flies super shaky. Thanks for your help
I’m just looking at getting into flying drones, do you think this is a good place to start or should I buy a drone that doesn’t cost so much and is easier to fix when I crash?
Great advices Master Mike :)
🔥🔥🔥🙌🏻
Solid work Mike!
Thanks man much appreciated 🤙🏼
Monsieur Ken
Great tips! I got my FPV a few weeks ago, and I’ve put more time into watching informative videos like yours than flying. One day I will have the guts to switch it into full manual.
You can do it! :)
Get a cheaper fpv and practice full acro with that so if you crash no biggie…….. then apply what you learn to fpv
@@Eroc556 Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve finally started flying full acro a couple of months ago after practicing on the simulator for about 30hrs. I’ve thought about getting a cheaper drone, just to fly it to the extreme without worrying about crashing it.
@@pocdabeno1974 yeah I put one together for less then 100 bucks and learned acro after a few crashes….. now Im good
@@Eroc556 could you tell me which brand you got and what other components I will need for it? Thank you
When practicing around trees, would you recommend using prop guards?
I can't find the two apps you mentioned. Can you post link? Are they on app store? Couldn't find them when I typed in lift off or velocidrone. Thanks!
Hey Mike, What angle is best for the gimbal when practicing in the sim? Also do tuning changes take effect in the sim or is that only when flying the drone? Thanks!
I fly with 23 degrees. WIth that angle flying slow is a little bit easier
Nice👍👍
Hi, I have a DJI FPV, but I don't have an IOS device, can you please suggest a good Windows Flight simulator compatible with DJI FPV drone and RC? how can I connect the RC to the windows PC?
How can you connect the DJI Virtual Simulator on your PC? Is there a MAC/PC version of the simulator available?
Using Liftoff on my MacBook Pro, it’s really laggy which doesn’t do much for learning (the MBP has no trouble editing 4k video with Premiere) ?
What's your recommended beginner rates?
Great, simple to understand informative channel! Earned a sub from me
Thank you Luke and I hope you enjoy the content :)
Hi mate, where did you find FPV Simulator? I have a drone but cannot find it anywhere. Cheers
what model are you using in Velocidrone similar to fpv from dji and what's the pid for it?
Are those other sims available on Apple?
Why buttons are not working in new fpv dji drone controller?
In the simulator, what drone (and/or rates) would you recommend to get the closest feeling to the DJI FPV? (I use the DRL Sim, but i assume it should be similar between different sims)
It doesn’t really matter because the sim feels different anyways, but you still get the muscle memory
Propellers guard and basic check lists.
How do I use my DJI FPV controller in Velocidrone?
same question. plz help
Great video! Thank you! Which drone should I choose in Velocidrone? Which reacts similar like the Dji FPV?
Too many camera drone guys just going full acro right away and posting crash videos. Your so right practice till you can’t get it wrong.
Ain't that the truth. Thanks mate!
I already crashed it.
Luckly IT just destroyed LED so i can fly without any problems.
But thanks for the video IT will help me.
Where can I find velocidrone app
Please can you pass us a link to the simulator for Win64? thanks
How do I get Liftoff and/or velocidrone to show up in my goggles?
Is the Pause button able to recover if you are in Manual with Attitude Control turned off and it were say fully upside down? Does it have the technology to point itself rightside up when that button is pressed?
@CJ Jacobs Practice your acro mode over the sea instead. The salty water will remove every uncertainty of the outcome.
How are you flying so fast with the DJI simulator? I’ve been using it for a week now and the drone does not fly fast like that at all.
Adjust your angle to a higher value, like 40 degrees. Then just hit the throttle :)
@@DroneSupremacy I tried that and it still seems slow to me. I’m still getting used to flying FPV on the simulator.
I don't fly FPV but have been starting to use goggles with my mavic air 2 and found this video somewhat helpful. Well done.
How do you use goggles with the MA 2 ?
@@genethejeweler hdmi to micro hdmi. You can’t control anything just view. This is for the white DJI goggles.
So you plug the goggles directly into the remote basically bypassing the phone?
@@genethejeweler I’m sorry, no. I have the smart controller with hdmi out.
OK thanks
Do you recommend the Velocidrone simulator or Liftoff simulator? Personally I feel like Liftoff is higher quality on first sight. Any suggestions?
Can't go wrong with any of the two to be honest. I love both
Another tip : Don’t get over confident.
I have a Mini 2 that I am flew regularly, I think I know it enough. 2 months back I got an idea of trying to simulate a seagull flying 2 feet above the sea. To get that epic shot of over water...
I flew the drone straight into water, it was an idiot decision.
😭
That is hilarious.
Did something similar with the Mavic Air 2. Wanted some low to the water footage of Lake Tahoe so I turned off the safety features.
Sunny day, couldn't see the screen properly. Looked up only to see my tiny black speck of a drone disappear into the calm mirror-like lake... It even came with a comical 'plop' as I lost $1000 in an instant... I just stared at the lake for a couple of minutes
How did you connect the controller to your PC for velocidrone?
I'm having the same issue... I plugged it in and nothing happened
Use the USB-C cable that came with the drone. My other cable did not work.
Hey mate i got Velocidrone and it is not reconginsing my DJI FPV RC .Is there anything else you had to do?
Maybe it needs to be calibrated - Go into "controller" and click on "Calibration". Then just follow the instructions, it should work!
@@DroneSupremacy ahh got it, legend!
All great tips Mike! You may have just saved a few some serious $$. A few others..probably not so much. 🧐🧐
I certainly won’t feel comfortable flying in an open space area all myself because we have Mountain Lions roaming in that area. I do fly at a park which they allow drones.
I thought 1. training on the simulator and than 2. directly go in the drone in acro would be the best, to not screw up your muscle memory with normal and sport mode. Thats, what I did.
Heads Up: DJI charges a minimum Repair Service Fee of $65.00. There are a lot of parts that they do not sell - so customers are forced to pay high prices for small repairs. I needed to have one front arm replaced. Parts cost a total of $7.50, but because they don't sell replacement arms - I was required to pay the $65 repair fee.
Also, DJI requires that you provide all flight data before they will make any repairs. Until more parts are offered to the public, this is a VERY expensive drone to fix.
Is it true that there's no simulator on Android?
DRL Sim👍
I've got another tip, make sure to fix your batterie with some straps or something. Ive crashed mine, the batterie flew out and I could not find it anymore, even with the recorded video... :( with the batterie in it you can locate it with the beeper. Losing the Drone is even worse, than crashing it... you can fix it, or maybe dji can but if its lost it is lost. And get the Dji care, it is definitely worth the extra money
Had a friend who was so confident he would be alright without a sim... it did not end well
rip is wallet
I didn't have a sim, so he is an idiot and flew unsafe right away. I almost hit a tree myself, machismo is a thing and showing off is the dangerous way to fly.
I tried the dji virtual app on iphone , and i got motion sickness , i am thinking to sell the drone
is there any adjustment in the Google for people that wear glasses to read. I'm Near sighted
I think u can buy those from the dji website
how did you put the simulator to your monitor?
can you please make a tutorial on how to connect dji fpv controller to velocidrone
@@General111100 just use a basic Xbox controller or some other game controller. It’s about getting the muscle memory(stick control), the controller doesn’t have to be the exact same.
Wtf ? Pause button ? is there a way to turn the motors off NOWWto save people and my drone from a flyaway ?
What simulator do you recomend?
He literally named them in the video, did you watch the video?
@@Make-Asylums-Great-Again Haha yeah! I saw it at the same time I commented😅
Like for Fpv bro
👏👏👏🤘😘
Now a easy fcc hack is avaliable🤘
smash dji fpv drone in freestyle drone frame and change esc and motor it will more durable and lighter and faster
Tip #6: Do not hit Start/Stop button during Manual flight because it will shutdown the engines and you completely lose control over your ~800 gram drone. Panic button doesn't help in this case and an acro-skill or a week of everyday flight in the simulator doesn't helps as well. I made that mistake...
What button?
Ik have no crapple, so no simulator for me😡
I disagree go to normal mode. Into an open space and go slow. Simulator is nonsense. You are in the simulator. Let the drone guide you. Do not go crazy. Go up down left right and repeat. Get used to the sight, do not go to obstacles. Do that daily. Once you feel you got dexterity switch mode and go slow again. Even pros crash trust me. But it’s amazing!!!
but the image quality from this drone, stabil. - the are worst :/
If you don't spend a substantial amount of time in the simulator AND you are new to FPV: YOU WILL CRASH YOUR DRONE IN THE FIRST 10 SECONDS. PERIOD.
What first comment haha, my boy
Go really high android users your sim is up there lol
I have android, simulator work on iPhone 🤦♂️
I lost mine the first week. Everything failed. Had plenty of battery, thing feel out of the sky like a brick. Someone snatched it b4 I could get to it. DJI care is unbelievably slow. N fyi it's always your fault.
Just a tip... Use the USB-C cable that came with the drone. I tried to use another USB-C cable and my PC would not recognize the device.
It does not recognize me using that cable. I have a last generation pc and windows 10 and there is no way. I've tried everything. Any idea?
@@mojosilantro1976 Sorry bud. worked for me. Try going to "Control Panel > Devices & Printers" and see what it turns up as. Mine is "C5" and it is recognized as a game controller. Make sure you have the Controller switched on also.
Noooo
Do not touch rates. Way too complicated. Odds are screw it up
Get a 3” with cheap goggles
Go to soccer field
Use goalpost
Sit chair
Use horizontal and vertical reference
Up down
Left right
Simple
Tip.... Don't bother buying this one crash drone, DIY is the onlywaykanobi
Better tip…buy it and like it.
@@Make-Asylums-Great-Again Which dictates a redefinition of the word "like"...
This is NOT true about the simulators! Windows 10 doesn't recognize the controller and it won't work with Velocidrone!
Yes it does work. Go into device manager and select a game controller or HID.
