- I was lucky enough to be up close while this little cutie devoured an entire jelly at the beautiful Lady Elliot Island
*edit for those asking what type of turtle. Pretty sure this is a Green Sea Turtle. Lady Elliot generally only has 3 kinds of turtles that hang out and nest there, Green, Hawksbill, and Loggerhead.

The entire ocean is a nightmarish hellscape, the very fact that hard to see fish with long needle teeth are living with gigantic ass fish with mouths the size of a bus ready to attack at any given moment is the most terrifying thing to me the ocean is the worst

Something about this makes me really happy. I love watching the turtle eat. It’s amazing how they can eat poisonous jellyfish. Sad they mistake plastic bags in the sea for them. Let’s not pollute the ocean.

I was on the beach scuba diving and i tough a jelly fish was a plastic bag. It didn’t go well.
That explains everything, i even joked about how it's mainly the turtles that get caught in them

They are immune to Venom, so this grants them a huge advantage over Sea Snakes nor Box Jellyfish

I never knew this about sea turtles. Wow. We have cannon ball jelly fish here, which are harmless to humans. We have lots of sea turtle nests here, too. It would be amazing to see this live here.

Sea turtles however are reptiles, and their scales can protect them from these venoms. They are also blessed with spine-like projections called papillae which line down leatherbacks' esophagus from the mouth which help them pierce and break down their prey once ingested.
