- This video sucks! but hopefully it can help get to the point of a more perfect install on your first try. This radio is not easy to install... but I belive it to be the best aftermarket radio for the B8/B8.5.
For your AMI adapter, all you need is for the car to be in AUX mode. Most cheap bluetooth adapters do this passivly. If you already have a bluetooth AMI adapter, it should work unplugged from the 5V usb and still put the car in AUX mode. If you're a nerd, you can replace the resistor in the 30pin AMI adapter like I did to convert it to an "aux" cable.
My unit was from Navifly. I purchased the 6gb 128gb model.

Do you have a link to the screen less carplay/android auto box you showed? I have a 2013 Allroad with nav and B&O sound so wanted to keep that stuff but really want Android auto.

This is what I purchased, but I have not tested it or installed it in a car.
Can I install it also on Audi Q5? And where did you buy this?
If you are technical enough you can also program th mmi to be in aux mode, that way you don't need the adapter

Keep in mind install can be slightly different on different models, and there are no instructions provided.

What exactly is the blue square in quad ?and how do we push it out ik you said with a needle but kind of confused still. I saw some people saying we can bypass the factory amp (light blue) and splice it into a power source (red wire)? And finally my AirPlay will not connect to mirroring have you had this issue ?

Did you have any issues with audi mmi unit not fully turning off after you installed this?
I have not had any battery drain issues.
@@itsmaxtonvwaudi good to know! I had to cut away some trim to get the screen to sit flush, also make sure you transfer the metal clips to the new screen surround so it doesn't pop out

No, but its easy enough to do right in the case you do in the future.
