The Symphony #10/Bird Set Free mash-up is a brilliant piece of arranging, and I could feel the emotion of the performers carry through those pieces. Absolutely fantastic, and one of my favorite moments of the 2017 season.
This show is my Freshman year in a nutshell. In marching band show “A New Beginning”, we played Fly to Paradise for our first movement. And then for Winter Winds that year, “Thy Kingdom Come”, we played Symphony No. 10 for our 2nd movement for that show. And this literally made me tear up from the memories of those 2 shows that I did. I’m a Junior right now and this show just touches my heart from where I started in marching band. But great performance guys! Hope to see you guys at World Finals next year!
The Pit Percussionists should have had the cameras on them that part of the whole time instead of seeing the band turn into the color guard and run into circles...I get the artistic part of the visiual but Crop Circles are more artistic then that and nobody ever sees who makes those...case in point...the Pit break deserves to be viewerd respectfully and this video just did not have that in mind.
First show I ever saw live. Still in awe about how they pulled off a masterpiece like this. This deserved from 24-19. This has no business not being in semifinals. I can’t wait to see scades killing it this year!!!!
The guy who wrote this drum book writes my colleges drumline book too and the last four measures of this show are the same as my college’s. So yeah, I played dci music 🥶😎😎
I hate to say it (as someone from Seattle and rooting for hometown) but as nice as this show is, it's very vanilla. And for that reason they will continue to have a hard time breaking into the top 10. You gotta be bold and take chances. The energy of the show was audibly even which is never a good thing for GE scores. You can clean as much as you want to. But if there is no excitement and highs and lows, you'll have a hard time winning over the crowd.
The reason they'll never break top 10 is bc the HS scene in Washington is relatively low level due to the weather in the PNW and subsequent scheduling. It's those programs that feed into this one. Has very little to do with show design. The staff did great considering the level the kids are at coming out of hs.
As someone who marched with cascades, I would love to see this happen. However, due to the way school schedules are in the PNW, Cascades always lose a few weeks of rehearsal time waiting for classes to wrap up. That being said, the program that's been built up (and is still being built up) is second to none when it comes to improvement and education. If there ever comes a time when they can get a full rehearsal schedule, you can bet your ass this corps is going to turn some heads on Saturday night
The only corps that posts full shows. What actually nice people.
And it's professionally filmed as well, which is another plus.
@Chase Miller they release victory runs lol
Battalion open class posts some
Only real dci fans watch the lower corps who are anazing

just wait for the 2018 show... the cascades have been reborn
@@justycem5092now they've been revived
The guard was brilliant but when that one person dropped her wings early I stopped breathing
I'm planning on auditioning for the cascades and this just sealed my decision
I'm thinking about auditioning.
they got robbed
Good job Michael Tran and Seattle Cascades
One of my favorite shows of all time. The Sia/Shostakovich mashup makes me BUST
why exactly is this a lower class corps
they're literally amazing
THIS WAS 26TH HOW
the overtones on the last chord were amazing !
Gavin Keen thats just 3 of our leads playing double gs ;)
This show gives me chills every time. There are so many emotions and I can feel it so strongly. Amazing job, Cascades!
I’m seriously considering joining this Corp, and I don’t think I could have made a better choice of who I’m going to audition for
We will love to have you in our family!! Hope to see you at an audition camp! :D

You must have had a badass freshman year dude
What a genuinely fantastic show. Really really like it!!
Are you guys planning on releasing your 2018 show in a similar manner? I loved seeing it in Renton but I can't find a recording of it anywhere.
I love Shostakovich Symphony #10 and the way that was just arranged in was nice. How was this not a semi finalist?
Such a great show, one of my faves from 2017! Thanks for posting, wish more corps would do the same!

Super underrated show. A clear storyline to follow and actual drill. Cool music selections as well! Big fan!
so no free bird?
LMAO that would be kinda cool
This show is absolutely epic

Who wrote the drill for this show?
Alberto Ocasio nick benson
Definitely top 10 this coming year if they really buckle down. Powerhouse core in the next decade fore sure.
Really liked this show
I really want Cascades and Surf at finals together one year

It would be really cool to see that in 2023 and also not completely unreasonable
Plus I don't like the guards out fit or the band's they really clash and don't go together
Lieutenant Carter you really don't want guard costumes and corps uniforms matching... the guard would get lost then
Good show but too many noticable mistakes...but overall pretty good 👍
Still pretty clean for 26th.
Too much electric stuff.
drumcorps0junkie even as a member of this group, I agree with you there
Usually, when groups add too much electronics it takes away from the horn line and becomes very inorganic sounding
TBH yeah. There were a lot of electronic parts that could've been hornline or even solos.
Fave west coast corps by farrr (East coast is better)
SCV? Blue Devils?
@@zach.a.fields for BD i dont really like their shows
And SCV's marching technique isnt my favourite. Both are good!!! But i just prefer cascades.
