- Here’s the full transcription of the solo from which the clips were taken for the previous video (lick conversion: jazz to hard rock/metal). This is one of the more creative approaches to playing over a blues that I’ve ever heard, modern but with blues “attitude.”
“Blues on the Corner” (composer: McCoy Tyner) from the album “Scenes” (Johnson/Bishop/Stowell//Mandyck guitar solo by John Stowell), all Seattle based players (In told).
If in the Northwest, go see ‘em.

It's almost absurd that this is the guitarist in Testament - which is also amazing! Crazy...
Alex is the best to ever walk earth!
Just incredible...you are an amazing talent and truly one of the greats Alex!!
love those guitar player faces and the hms, haha! I think it's the first time in my life I hear such a long guitar solo with no bends at all (I'm not into jazz). Amazing clean playing and that right hand position, simply too good.
What can't this guy play!!🎸👏👏💋
I've really enjoyed all the great stuff Alex & all the people who've collaborated with him over the past year or so now. I want to see Testament but I sure hope he takes the jazz Trio music on the road if it's possible too!!! Ps I want to see him sitting at a piano!!!! At least once on his Friday livestreams💯💋🦋
Ooo my Good,, un Abrazo desde Argentina
you don’t just play the guitar, you feel the music, wonderful to watch ❤️
Making that guitar sound so amazing!!
So good! 🎶 🎸 🎶
Hello are you also one of my fans/supporters out there?

Sounds amazing:)
Very nice!
Always been one of the best #testament
you are amazing young dood
nice
I can't even stand seeing this guy...I see his face and i know imma get blown away, lol
Nice transcription
but the blues is not coming through enough in my opinion. I think the remedy for that could have two options and in both include the head of the song
a) bass backing much louder
or
b) guitar duet by overdub
-in the actual song because Tyner plays piano and there's total independence with chords, when he plays the solo you also hear more chords and the chords reveal more of the blues structure. So a rhythm guitar part could be what Tyner does on the recording but mixed with some of what the bass id doing
This is another nice Tyner guitar transcription on youtube:
Pursuance (A Love Supreme) - McCoy Tyner's solo (transcription)
Théo Duboule
The nice thing is that it has those 4ths and other sorts of things guitarists don't ordinarily do
Check out the 4ths semi barre chords at the end
dark roots of earth 2 yet??????
I wonder how many guitars this man has?
Hello are you also one of my fans/supporters out there?
Sounds like Joe Pass!!!…🤙😎🤘
If anyone plays guitar, study music theory. You’ll need it to improvise.
