wearing earth tones isn't the problem... wearing ONLY earth tones is. when every piece is brown ofc the dude gonna look like a latte. basically, earth tones are best used with other colours like navy and especially black. black shirt with beige pants is a solid fit.

My wardrobe it is literally Green, Browns, Black, Grey, Navy and Whites only with very little of the other colors. Bright colors bother me

Agreed. I made an earth-toned capsule maternity wardrobe and after I had my baby I was so done tho 😂 I threw in some muted colors and now have a VERY colorful closet. They are still solid pieces to get you through other styles and tone done some fits after you’re done being a cappuccino
Honestly, earthtone is probably one of the most easiest gateway to start caring about your appearance while simultaneously not putting too much thought into it. It gives you a foundation that can be worn anywhere and serves as a pipeline to other aesthetics because of how versatile it is.
It'll probably never truly die out which is probably why it exploded so fast in current mainstream which is why everyone was so quick to jump on board. So for anyone feeling self conscious of being at the tail end of this trend, don't be it'll never die down. If it did creators like these wouldn't be able to make a quick buck out of a trend that didn't already have traction for them to monetize off of
It also works in with just about any style or sillouhette, so it's super easy to get onboard with and try out and not have to buy a whole new wardrobe for. But also, I think it's easy to get out of as well, because you can repurpose all of the pieces into new fits by just adding more colour elsewhere. Brown pants? Pretty darn easy to style with blue, white, black... just wear them again with anything other than a beige hoodie. Brown t-shirt/shirt combo? Ok, wear with light wash, baggy jeans... boom... you're a farmer now... farmcore. I think my point is... i agree with you and as a bonus, if you got into fashion on the brown/beige/earth tone cycle, you can still look great with the same clothes, you just don't need to pair the brown and beige on every piece, head to toe and you'll still look great. It was a good on ramp and off ramp in fashion imo... very consumer friendly.

Yeah, same tier as normcore stuff. Easy care, no really risky cuts or silhouettes, low entry price point, flexibility. It's not tippy-top bleeding edge stuff, but if it's what you like and you can style yourself that way then go for it.

take everything you see regarding fashion on social media with a grain of salt, I think when frugal says earth tones are dying I think he just means within the group of people really into the fashion space. 98% of people you meet in real life who don't live through the net will not think its out of fashion and they will not give a damn some youtuber whose job is to pretty much trendhop to keep making new content said otherwise. I'm sticking to earth tones. We've done black on black in Scandinavia for like 10 years
I've have noticed my closet has very little color in it. And recently I have been wishing I didn't get so much black hoodies and gray shirts.
Fr. Recently i decided to clear out my clothes of one’s I never touch and get new one that are different tones and colors and it makes the difference. I don’t feel like I’m wearing the same stuff I have a full array of styles to choose from without feeling lost

A fun exercise I've tried recently is finding a piece that incorporates my favorite color, or the favorite color of a person I know. Adding a splash can enhance the whole fit if you do it up just right without just taking the MS Paint Fill tool to your look.

I think movies and shows also play a huge part in the trends. I woke in retail for a fast fashion store, and when Wednesday came out all our fashion switched to black and white palette with stripes and wool textures.

Love me some workwear/milsurp. It's functional, usually overbuilt for what I'm doing, and gives me big blocky silhouettes I like the look of. Comfy too, honestly. Fall/winter is my fave time of year because it gives me an excuse to wear them.

Currenty, mixing up a lot of green, brown and white for contrast and IMO it is looking pretty good. Got some genuine 70's military cargo's (used in Dutch military!) and dunk high Australia's and dark chocolate. Very easy to contrast and mix up!

Honestly I don't see that many earth tone outfits on social media or real life, but I'm constantly seeing all black fits everywhere. carti is basically on Ye's donda-era fashion rn, but pushing it to the extreme including more details in his pieces. during that time everybody pictured with ye started the all black thing cause it was the style of the album. since ye was mainly wearing balenciaga, that came too. full face masks were popularized too at the time, kims all black balenciaga dress made big headlines at some gala too.

It’s crazy how I just started getting into fashion about a 1 1/2 years ago and I’m finally catching up. Just hit that earth tone phase but from what you said in another one of your videos I’m keeping it to a small level of what I use and not diving in so I don’t get lost in it. Still probably not caught up to the new current trend but probably buy December will be caught up. It’s crazy how when into fashion but not following the trends from the beginning just putting outfits together feelin it up in the end you caught up. Like I was just chillin doin my own shit and decided earth tones would be fun to try without realizing that it was a huge trend and bam after seeing this I realized will just messing around with styles I’m now following trends and slowly catching up to more recent ones

wear what you like get a basic foundation and you done. If you wanna try trends later on get pieces that you can already implement in your normal wardrobe.

I don’t think black is distinct enough to replace the neutral outfit. Black is just too common of a color if not the most worn color on earth. A full on tan/beige fit sticks out and gives off a more specific vibe while black could relate to everyone and everything 😅
I don't know, I think those all black fits have a different aesthetic. Beige hoodie on beige pants looks chill, just going out for a coffee. Nothing wrong with it. I think a black hoodie on black pants might be more versatile aesthetic wise, but if you're just going for a chill look, might as well stick to earth tones. Don't switch out your wardrobe if you like your aesthetic. We consume too much anyways.
I prefer to mix and match. Beige hoodie, black pants looks better to me than both being the same. Even if I wanted a whole earth tone fit, I'd much rather have something like army green pants with a beige hoodie than beige on beige.
