    Honestly if they shuttered the company and refuse to sell the product, i have a hard time caring if copies of a digital product are still in use. I know this means no back end support, but we rarely need it, assuming this test version is stable.

    • @MadRC

      I think I would feel a little different if this was a cracked version of 32.10 but the issue is we don’t know what the hell this is. Also I’m uncomfortable manicures selling this and making money off that fact. A user flashing is one thing but a company doing it is another

      @@MadRC especially since it should not be that hard for the manufacturers to switch to am32. It's lazy, and shows how little care there is for the end user, do they even know what this test firmware is based on?

      @@MadRC it isnt really any of the customers concern what or how blheli32 is or works. customers arent paying blheli or interacting with the business in any way. they are buying and paying for the esc from the esc manufacturer brand. so whatever the manufacturer provides should be seen critically as the product that it is. if the manufacturer ships it as-is then it can be trusted and if it causes issues you can take it up with the manufacturer. its not like an untrusted 3rd party is doing things to the product without accountability. the manufacterer is solely reponsible for the product they sell, regardless of who they may or may not have contracted to do software for their product. like with the swargg orqa goggle thing. it doesnt matter to the users who swargg was or what beef internally he had with orqa. all issues customers have with orqa goggles are between orqa and the customer to resolve. its nobodys concern what goes on in the backend.
      yes its shady and unprofessional to ship esc's with sample firmware but it is unfair to say that it is a lesser product or untrusted. the product you bought and recieved is exactly what it was marketed as. an esc from a manufacturer with blheli32 software and fully functioning. neither the customer nor the manufacturer is being wronged here. only a contractor the manufacterer did business with in the past, which they can internally deal with themselves.

      @@MadRC You are right of course, I was just surprised any companies actually licensed it to begin with. I wonder if the AM32 license is significantly higher priced or is it really just lazyness. If the AM32 license is indeed higher priced, I would think going back to 8bit to maintain pricing should be made available alongside AM32.

      I’m shocked that a single Chinese manufacturer was paying for this to start with 😂 had no idea. I thought this was another elrs situation. If the dev quits, and didn’t release their source, then it’s fair game to hack it anywhere. That’s always been the game.

    Try to check traffic with wireshark and see where the configurator traffic is going. If the original configurator was checking in with Blheli servers (in Norway or EU), this configurator could just be a hacked piece of software, that might be connecting to a random server (with a Chinese IP address) to bypass required checks. This could also mean that the firmware could be whatever version they want it to be, and no real way to verify it is 32.10

    Just ordered a SpeedyBee Stack that has BL32. I did it because you configure through their app using Bluetooth. So I figure whatever they are using is compatible with that app and I won't need a factory configurator from BL. I presume mine is leftover stock which is fine. If I fry it in the future, I'll just get an AM32 version of that ESC in the future. At least I can configure it if I need to touch it through the SpeedyBee app.

  • @JohnCuppi
    @JohnCuppi Месяц назад +1

    Sequire at least is no stranger to AM32 - they literally just released an AM32 ESC that you looked at. They must be doing it because there are people who do not want to buy AM32 yet. It's always more comfortable to buy what you know and have used for ages. I agree that this is a bad thing for manufacturers to do and will not help to force a pivot to AM32 that is needed in the long run.

    Can confirm, Foxeer F405 V2 Stack with the 55A Reaper has this issue. But I don't want to deal with the hassle of unsoldering and sending it all back just to rebuild everything so I'm just going to live with it.

    The option for "hidden" is not what you think it does, you actually have now hidden the folder, but you already enabled show hidden/files folders. This might mess up people, as the moment they enable hidden on a folder and dont have "show hidden files/folders" enabled, the folder will become invisible.

    Flapdoodle. The developer of the BLHeli32 software had no right to deny access to the servers, it is simply not legal and they should be held accountable for it. I sincerely wish that they would be billed millions of dollars for what they do. As a regular user, I should be able to access the servers, even if there are no more new versions, but the latest version 32.10 should be available to me. And I say thank you to those who were able to crack this software. Perhaps this is not legal, but it is fair.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Месяц назад +1

      I’m sorry but you acre completely wrong.
      If Microsoft stopped trading tomorrow do you expect them to still provide you access to updates ? It ain’t going to happen.
      BLHeli owe you as a consumer nothing. They never actually sold you their software. They sold it to manufacturers. You as a consumer have no rights to anything over their software.
      BLHeli have every right to do what they want with their software and while we may not like that if is the fact of the matter.
      We all agree we wish they had published the current hex files but they had no requirement to.
