I totally forgot to give credit in this episode for the tip about drawing bridges over land. I picked that up from Xucaboa (great vanilla creator - go check him out), and I believe he originally got it from Captain Ahvious (again, go check him out)!
Thank you for this helpful Video. At 7:50: now a days there is a new and very helpful Road Tool Option in which you can determine, that you don’t want buildingssquares on the left or right or even both sides. A Little Gamechanger
Awesome video! Learned quite a few things. At 15:00 , if you attach the parallel roads, you'll get a section of zonable squares. You can use the bottom middle of those squares as a reference point to draw your straight roads too 🍻
Really enjoyed the part when you distinguish the the roads dunction in the hirarchy from the road size to be used to fill this function for i just hate it when people put down a 6 lane "arterial", totally without any roadhirarchy context applicable in the sense of the network.
Thanks. I thought it was important to stress that road hierarchy is about the function of roads. As you say, a lot of people, particularly beginners, will use a bigger road, thinking they're implementing road hierarchy, but not have it as part of any functional structure.
I was hoping I put enough in there that people would still get something useful out of it, even if they knew a lot of the basics already. I wasn't expecting experienced players like you to be learning anything new though. I guess I did a better job than I thought 😅. Thanks Dimi ☺️
@@dedubsplays...8284 the part of the parallel roads was new for me. While vanilla i just eyeball it, and modded i use parallel roads tool. But the 'x' away is 'x' from the half was new, lol
@@ElDimitrius Well it's great to know that even you were able to take something useful from it. I always worry a bit about how well I've explained things with tutorials, so this kind of feedback is very reassuring lol.
Glad you found it useful. I spent a bit of time on the parallel roads section because I know it something that can be a bit of a challenge in vanilla CS.

You can! There was so much to cover, I knew I'd miss something out lol. Good tip.
