Love this film! such a great idea to review two similar modded cars and get more than the "i just installed it its gotta be doing something" butt dyno feel. This is a much more scientific approach to ride feel/style! Love the cars Jared and Austin!
Ok guys, I have a 14 Fiesta ST, I bought it new, it has 103,000+ miles on it, my mods are a bigger intercooler, MBPR exhaust, short shift kit, rear motor mount, intake and a Cobb stage two Tune. I can totally relate to your differences of the two cars, the reason his car with the 215-45 has body roll is its design for 205-40, I did the thing on my second set of tires and I hated them, and went back to 205-40, I'm on my 6th set of tires and only have about 5,000 miles left on this set, I run Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4's and love them, phenomenal grip, they are guaranteed for 45,000 miles, I get 20,000, I like driving on three wheels, it's great because they prorate the tires and I get a new set for about five hundred bucks. At 74 years young this will be my last car, I love it, I've had 13 cars and 9 motorcycles in my life, and by far my ST is the most fun I've had driving. Enjoy your cars guys. The Fiesta Flash.
When you put those tire specs into a wheel calculator you get a total diameter of 24.6 inches vs 23.5 inches from the factory specs…meaning you lifted your car 1.1 inches by going with that setup
I have a 2017 Fiesta ST 42k miles untuned. Im the other unicorn in the universe🤙. It's hard to justify the tune when the car comes from the factory with a lot of punch. One thing I would point out is weight reduction, specifically wheels and tires. I went from factory to rota slipstreams 16" dropped solid 10lb a corner and it was shocking! Freakishly different from stock. Waited way to long for wheel set up. To any Fist owners Don't wait on the wheels and don't go heavy! Kills the performance of this pocket rocket 👌
@@KaiserVonKrieg 205/45/R16 its 1% diff from stock but weigh significantly less -10lb a corner. Running nitto neo gen in my opinion is a hard tire to beat for the price and specs. was shocking to say the least how much performance you get from going with lighter wheels. Rota slipstream burnt bronze 4x108 63.4hub so no hub rings direct fit 👌
Although not as radical a difference, or effect, as dropping wheel/tire/brake weight, pulling all of the interior behind the front seats out of the Fiesta ST does drop close to 100 pounds (even with leaving the spare and jack still in the back!), IF you do not have kids, or passengers, ever. This weight reduction probably makes my stock tune car as quick in acceleration as an aftermarket tuned car using a Cobb AP, and an aftermarket, bigger intercooler, given the same tire traction. I have the 205/50-16 Neo Gens on the same bronze 16x8 Dekagrams as the car above, and would never be able to use, or need, any more, legally, ON THE STREET at least. They are perfect in anything but; over a half inch of snow/slush, or ANY ice on the roads. COLD and dry, they are just fine. One thing though, that size Neo Gen is tall (and wide) enough to rub against the Rally Armor front mud flap mounting hardware, even at factory ride height, so if you plan on installing those, and lowering the car at all, use the 205/45-16 size. 😉
*Crazy... The Recaro seats are the reason why I even knew this car existed. I was googling "recaro seats" and a pic of the ST seats showed up, and I was like WOW. I need to know what car these seats belong to... And it was all history from there. But I'm up in Canada and we can't even get the car without Reacros. They weren't an option, they were just a part of the car. It just feels really weird to have a sporty car that was made for handling and canyon carving and to have base economy seats in there. I see it more like the US versions came with 2 options: the normal version, and the nerfed version. And it's funny how people would rather choose the nerfed version. It's like if a sports car came with high performance summer tires, or touring tires. And people would pick the touring tires. Something not right with that combo imo. I would not choose touring tires even if they were cheaper, unless my plan was to immediately swap them out for high performance tires of my choice afterward.*
I'm getting a 2019 just haven't made up my mind whether to get one modded or to get a stock one. I feel like I want around 250 to 300 hp either now or eventually.
300 HP is over rated for the Fiesta ST, I have mods with a Cobb stage two Tune, and in 1st gear at 22 pounds of Boost all my front tires do is spin, and some mild torque steer in 2nd, at just about 225 hp and 254 foot pounds it's a blast to drive and embarrassed a lot of cars on freeway on-ramps. As you know just go on RUclips and there's hundreds of videos on these cars. In 2014 it was the compact car of the year and Car of the Year in England in 2014 more Auto journalist or least the fiesta more than any of the car that year. Check out the article in motortrend for 2014, most 10 fun cars to drive, there just Go-Karts, believe me you'll love it. The Fiesta Flash.
the answer is all the way. modify it ALL the way

Thanks JB! Glad you enjoyed it. More comparisons to come!

Great comment 💯👍🏾

What’s the specs on your wheels/tires?

im hybrid turbo and basically full bolt on its worth putting the money into them

People need to understand the advantages of reducing unsprung weight. It benefits the car in every way, no downsides.

Agreed, the Recaros were half the reason I wanted my Fiesta haha
Got a 2018 st with stage 2 mods installed by the previous owner but I’ve added and replaced some things so the next step is the V3 Access port !

Get a stock one with recaros if you haven't purchased yet. I LOVE my recaros
I had the base seats in my 17 for about 2000 miles before I swapped to the full recaro interior. The base seats have almost no bolstering.
Like, it's like, I just like ‐ like the video like
Any problems with over heating after modding?
Does your tire rub with that setup?
It does not! There might just be an entire video dropping tomorrow about this topic......
