Dear, Mortskie I hope you read this. I am a 49 year old physically disabled Navy vet. Among my new physical disability I am a long time sufferer of PTSD and often times I can't sleep at night do to PTSD attacks. I have found though a way to cope with it and that is by listening to your channel. You and Joe Kenda are the only 2 who have a voice that help calm me and help me through my attacks. I want to give you the biggest heart felt thank you for all the times you unknowingly helped through rough times. God bless and keep up the amazing work.

Thanks for the Ford content even if it's not your favorite. I have a 75 F-150 that I'm trying to restore, my dad bought it in August of 74. He kept it but bought a bullnose in 1980 and a bricknose in 1988. He also bought a super crew F-150 in 2003 but sadlly he passed in 2005 from cancer.

New tires and wheels, new tank and fuel pump and rebuilt the TBI and I had her back on the road after sitting for 5 years after they put a rebuilt 350 in it. Solid trucks that aren’t made anymore unfortunately. Keep the resurrections coming!

I’ve had 6 F150’s built on that platform from 1980-1996. Had a 80, 86, 89, 90, 91, and a 92. My all time favorite was the 86 super cab long bed lariat, had every option available. Wish I still had it, it was mint when I got rid of it, and sadly I watched it die a slow painful death from the guy I sold it to. I saw it regularly, and everytime something new was broken from windows being broken, mirrors ripped out, tailgate folded in half. That truck didn’t deserve that.
Also, some kinda useful knowledge, that power steering cooler is the only sure way I know to identify a truck with the factory tow package. Non tow package trucks have a smaller cooler that only makes one loop across the crossmember. The one with 2 loops like yours are factory tow package.

27:29 as a driveability tech back in the day, I worked with those ford's extensively. Both tanks have low pressure transfer pumps to carry fuel to the fuel filter/diverter valve, a black plastic housing with a oil filter like cover to access the filter. Whichever tank was running would cause a poppet valve in the diverter to open allowing fuel flow, so your transfer switch just controlled the lift pumps. After the diverter, fuel was carried to the high pressure pump, which was under the guard that had the warning label on it. This boosted the pressure to 45-50 psi thru a pressure regulator on the fuel rail. Unused fuel was sent thru the return line.
28:36 lol, you did your research and just said everything I just wrote

I still think the bullnose has some of Fords best styling. The paint issue is do to a change to the water based paints in 1985 with a really bad primer. My short box XLT had the same trim mirrors and rear bumper. I had a rare cruise control with manual transmission.PS the heater core is a supper easy change out through the glove box.

The issue with paint back in that time period was the Big 3 (Chrysler, Ford and GM) decided not to prime between the ecoat (the black coating put on the bare metal panels) and paint to save money. That's why it came off in sheets. I had customers that would drive down to the local media blaster, mask up the glass and drive them back bare and begin the refinish process... And now you know and.... (you fill in the rest). Thanks Mr. M for another Monday morning pick ME up!

Hey Mortske, the power windows on those Ford trucks and aerostar vans and other Ford products have a design flaw, if you roll up and down the power window you might see the door outer sheet metal skin and the inner skin flex in or apart, this will eventually create stress cracks and make it harder for your regulator motor eventually burning it up so if you do replace the regulator or motor in that window be sure to check if it's expanding like that and beef it up with some extra sheet metal, otherwise you might be putting in another new motor, too quickly. There are other makes of cars that tend do that also.

I kind of like the way it looks with that patina, fix the rust just enough to make it sturdy and primer the roof and it would look great. My dad had an 80 F-150 XLT Lariat Super Cab with bucket seats and a console, it had the 351. He drove it till the Bricknose came out in 88 and we used it as a company truck for about another 4 years.

Those Mice need proper billing in the credits according to Union rules... That made me literally spit out some beer when I saw the 3 of'em come out then Duff arrived!

Sometimes a car needs a guy like Wes to fix it. I have learned so many things from watching his channel. However, I take it with a grain of salt as he has to meet higher standards for liability reasons. Home wrenching is way easier.... ❤ love your channel as well. Duff is the real hero, always taking care of the furry stowaways... 😂 Keep doing you sir and enjoy your weekend!

Ok so , lariat was more interior at that time. Carpet, trim on the door panels, power, color matching full panels and headliner. Radio, ac, cruise and tilt were still options. The spate tire in the bed was also an add on. Both tanks are 19gal and you could upgrade the rear tank to a 38gal unit for all the miles. I have an 80 bullnose that I got when my grandpa passed. Besides the bed being rusted it's a damn good truck

Another great video from the Sir Morticus! Love the Ford content when it happens. Puts a joyful tear in a Ford guy's eye. I understand you doing it but I don't think I could do the winters you guys get up there. In my advancing "grandpadom" my bones don't deal with the cold as well. Here's to wishing you and the Duff dog the best during this holiday season.

That Ferd was a great score, it really finished up nice. I think you can get a leveling kit for the truck. All it consists of is a spacer for each spring and you pick the amount of thickness. Looking at the landscape in the Mortske hood makes me appreciate living in florida this time of year.

You mean shackles, right? I put a set on my 67' mustang converted to a fastback. Only wish I still had that car. Sold it cause there was a wiring issue. Was look at the engine then shut the hood and the damn car started up by itself. It was a 3-speed and had a habit of leaving it in reverse to get the shifter out of the way, so when it started by itself it went down my father in law driveway which was a down grade. It went straight down the driveway, crossed the road and started going on bro the cornfield. Finally caught up with it in the 6 or 7th row
This is a true story. It happened in 1974.

That ford has 3 fuel pumps one in each tank plus the one you found on the frame rail. It has a cannister filter on the frame as well. There should be a switch on the dash for font or rear tank.
