bro i did game development .. And i do know abt the vfx and graphical creation.. 650cr budeget and andulo actors remuneration, production, sets, cost antha atleast 200-300 undachu... Giving this level of vfx and graphical content with 300-400 crs is not a joke it's the talent and perfection of the director and other artists... Bahubali, rrr etc lativi nothing deni mundhu.. With all respect to SSR.. Sir... But it's fact and truth... Story was well narrated and carried... Ekkada kuda extra links levu and useless songs levu.. Or non story related ga kuda ledu... Prabhas Amitab Kamal Deepika And many more actors Everyone did nice and marvelous acting.. No criticism here... Vfx and composition and rest elements are all done really well very few mistakes that to are un noticed by non artist(not having knowledge of 3d models, vfx, graphical lighting and other topic in this field...) Simple normal people ki antha easy ga identify avadu... So no criticism here also Lags antava... That is only way to make audience to enter the world and understand basics of world functioning.... No other ways r there... Every shot was used very well and story did goes up and reveals of cemoes are nicely placed.. I think every character introduced in this part... Will be responsible in nxt part in plot in one way or other.. So 😂 even disha patani.. Role will be useful for bhairava.. As he got to know abt power source of complex.. And he can have access.. Etc. Etc... I had many more concepts and ideas of each character.... How more can they do.. Or what all have connection with them being in certain time or place... 😅.. Can't help bro.. Answer for dhisha patani... Role.. She gets work access to complex and she also lends units to bhairava.. Which is huge and he can't repay her any soon... She is the reason for more commitment to get into complex any how... And also he gets noticed by the system where he was scaned later and almost gets banished... Here bhairava gets motivation for to try more to get into complex... And also commender to believe in him for small part.... Bro again salaar in first half was fast and not slow... With back story.... Here story was given and puranas were indulged in some of shots making audience to expect any hindu elements to raise....

Hello Akash! Dont bother about the hate comments. As a Telugu speaker, Prabhas is very much respected in the south because of how humble he is. We love him and his comic timing here. Most of the dialogues are inside jokes and I totally understand your POV. It's also lost in dubbing
I've watched most of the Hollywood sci-fi movies, but in comparison with Kalki, I would say Kalki worked great, yes 1st half feels a little boring because of story building, and the 2nd half was amazing. Movie worth watching. Just waiting for Kalki 2.
Amitabh Bachchan proves why he rules the movies: in a battle of competing screen presences, he just gives a left hook and upper cut every single shot. What a presence! Absolutely thrilled to watch him. And I chose to watch the movie in Hindi in order to hear Amitji’s classic voice properly. Excellent movie. The bad parts are way overshadowed by the good here. Did not realise three hours passing. Plus, for the next instalment, it is about time that these guys got a proper Hollywood actor in a main role and released an English dub in the US and other Anglo markets. About time the world knew about us.
As a telugu speaking guy I love prabhas' comic timing. but I think when it was dubbed in hindi the comedy has been diluted. when i saw the movie in telugu i loved those comic sequences. most of the hindi audience may synchronize with the comedy because most of the jokes are related to telugu pop culture.
I can eco the same.. it's is made keeping telugu audience in mind and Prabhas is vgood in comic dialogues.. since its dubbed version u guys are feeling bit out of context

I just watched the movie and it is a new horizon for Indian sci-fi after Ra-one. It takes a lot of efforts to make such big project so let’s just appreciate the efforts of everyone involved in production of this movie.

The sad thing is that Prabhas is not playing the role of Kalki in the Kalki cinematic universe, yet he agreed to work with Nag Ashwin. This decision reflects Prabhas's desire to explore new horizons in Indian cinema and to support emerging directors. Despite his efforts, these critics fail to appreciate Prabhas. He truly deserves recognition, especially for his exceptional performance in the climax.
I am sure Prabhas has been paid a major chunk of cake for his leap of faith onto the project.. The critics will only give an opinion on whether the story could promise what it wanted to tell!! Critics will also talk about acting and other technicalities.. Not how kind Prabhas was!

Agree to disagree that Prabhas doesn't have comic timing. Before Baahubali, Prabhas did play fun characters with good comic timing. However, definitely agree that comedy in the first half and Disha's character were forced into the storyline. Could've used that time to establish characters better or build an emotional connect to bring in more impact in the later part of the movie

This movie introduces a lot of characters and builds up what is to come. It may seem jerky but coming from a literature student no body has attempted something this big, not even in the foreign films about their own history. So it’s better not to be this critical about it. Everybody has watched Hollywood and knows what vfx is and still likes the film. I found it phenomenal and proper use of a 600cr budget. I knew when ur video came around that its only gonna be critical lol 😂

I grew up watching Hollywood sci fi movies since childhood. But I'll tell you Kalki is the first ever Indian SciFi movie I'm excited about, not just the movie but for the overall franchise. Surely there areas the director needs to improve but this is the start. The director put 5 years in to this movie and it's our responsibility to support movie makers that are sincere to their craft as there are almost none left in Bollywood now a days.
The thing is if someone really put 5 years worth of work in this movie then this movie is absolute trash. There are at least 1000 things (like scenes, objects, looks) that are straight up copied from somewhere excluding our literature coz that's the selling point. Even if it was mediocre and not copied I would have said ok sarkar we are progressing. But combining other sci fi with our literature seems like a disrespect to our literature.

I was feeling sleepy till interval 😂 After watching full movie, I realized whole Prabhas screen time is not even necessary they could make it better if they remove atleast 50% of prabhas screen time. Having Prabhas in any film significantly boosts its opening potential for directors. When someone invests 600 crore in a film, they must prioritize recouping that investment. They can't afford to make poor decisions. In the telugu film industry directors understand that economics and won't risk casting just anyone in high-budget films. Given an opportunity telugu directors would cast modiji, if they feel economics will work really well.. pehle paise kamao aur gyaan baad me dedo..
I guess that's all Prabhas has. A Very loyal but Small Fan Following that watches his movie on Day 1, sometimes Day 2 and 3 but when it comes to working days where Masses or Family audience comes in he fails. That's why his movies almost always fail to recover budget. Then you have Shah Rukh Khan who not just gets big openings but his movies keep momentum with masses too. Prabhas is an example of regional star with Loyal Fans. SRK is an example of World Wide Brand with Masses and Loyal Fans. And I am not sure if Prabhas can ever get masses or casual fans due to his limited skill as an actor and lack of charisma.
I think Setupati is better than Prabhash. Prabhash lacks the depth in his acting. May be he would be the weakest link in the movie, and reason for taking him could be some kind of favouritism or nepotism.

Many misrepresentations of Mahabharat like Ashwatthama was not at all a friend of Karna he always criticised Karna and Praised Arjuna even before Virat Yuddh and before the final Kurukshetra Battle he said you are only talk and You can’t even stand for a second before Arjun but in this movie they just followed the serial and Tv script rather than Actual Mahabharata by Ved Vyas
It is not true that Ashwathamma did not like Karna at all. He was an amsa of Shiva/Bhairava and was quite stoic for the most part. He had a grudge against Arjuna because his own father Drona, favoured Arjuna over everyone else and did not impart all the secrets of the astras to everyone like he did to Arjuna. Karna was a student of Parshurama, same as Drona, and Ashwathamma had respect for anyone that had the same guru as his father.

You have piqued my interest back in the movie for the love of Indian mythology. :) You are so right abuot our heritage being full of rich stories. I watch kalki just for seing the visual and master cameo of bhagwaan krishn , man that was epic when he is telling arjun why karn is much stronger than him. Hats off to director to show india's who still dont know about mahabharat and the world where many people's don't know about indian history. Just praying for cameo of lord hanuman in kalki 2.

Remove prabhas from this film. Already the first half is weak. Without prabhas its lifetime would have been around 100-150 crore. Biggest disaster of indian cinema.
What many dont understand is our Indian film industry is not Hollywood we dont have self sufficient production houses which can independently cough up crores of money on unknown actors directors like nag Ashwin csn only get bigger budget only when there is a star like prabhas in the film only then financers will fund distributors will pay bigger money to buy the rights disney or warner bros csn spend 100 million on a new actor bcz they own distribution infrastructure to cinema halls they can promtoe a film and release it in 5000 screens by themselves no indin producer can do that and hence they need a crowd puller a start like prabhas or khans infact we need to appreciate prabhs despite knowing that his role is not the central plot of the movie he still agreed to do the part not many stars in our industry do that the only reason this film got greenlit is only bcz of prabhas weather u like him in the movie or not

Firstly, i don't think you could be talking about avatar and any indian film in same sentence because the budgets are humongous. I personally worked in indian and Hollywood vfx , so i can tell you there will be a night and day difference in every aspect. But with given budget , if they can achieve so much, its a miracle, we need to appreciate the work..Also this is a telugu movie, so we would enjoy the subtle humour because we have a background connection, can understand why others might not.

In Avenger Endgame, i have seen people with 2 legs, 2 hand, a nose with 2 eyes. In kalki exactly same kind of characters are present. I think this might have been copied from Endgame.
I liked the movie but after seeing your review, I am thinking your points are valid. I also think the characters are not in depth (we never come to know about the Mariam like who is she or how Shambala became rebels etc). I hope 2nd parts covers all these!!
1. SHAMBALA (NOT ZION FROM MATRIX)- The city which actually exist somewhere in between The Himalayas and is hidden from the rest of the world. In the Kalki Purana, Kalki is born into the family of Vishnuyashas and Sumati, in a village called Shambala on the thirteenth day during the fortnight of the waxing moon. 2. ASVATTHA TREE (NOT TREE FROM PANDORA)- It is a sacred tree for the Hindus and has been extensively mentioned in texts pertaining to Hinduism. In Buddhism, the Bodhi Tree under which Gautama Buddha gained enlightenment is also of the same species. The Tree's roots are upwards and it is said Kalki Avatar will be born below that Tree. 3. ASWATTHAMA- His body is covered with wounds due to the curse so he covers it with white cloth and bandages which we do today when we bleed. Gandalf's outfit is completely different I don't know how idiotically you guys are comparing him with Gandalf😂. Hopefully, Ashwatthama will get back his armoured suit in the next part.

If there are 12 segments of 15 minutes each in this movie, consider wasted 1 segment for Disha & tacky jokes and another 1 segment of kiddy jokes & bad fights, there are 10 segments out of 12 segments is Very good for a cinephile. Even that irritating Disha segment has that beautiful Complex world.
Only thing I hated about the movie was the colored arrows magically appearing during Mahabharat sequence. I'd love more of Bahubali type arrow fight there.
It’s a Telugu movie being dubbed in other languages , so his comedic timing is excellent for Telugu people , and cameos tooo we enjoyed a lot . Amitab sir is seen as such , we don’t feel as if overshadowed prabhas in south may be in north people seeing him in different role after long time gave u lots of joy .

Banerjee you are wrong in saying that Prabhas does not have comic timing. He did comedy and romantic roles in many Telugu movies before Bahubali. Even in this movie many enjoyed his comedy. Some who cannot get out of Bahubali image find it difficult to assimilate.
I did not watch either RRR or Kalki and Kalki 2 - but I am glad to see Indian movie is trying to entertain audience with such special effects - will be a great feast to those who do not watch Hollywood movies. If they make truly SciFi movie or gimmicks like elevation of Hero above the story presentation - they won't make even those 600 crores - so be a roman in Rome. Movies, Media and Politics are the collective intellect of a culture and collective intelligence of education system - so for our current intellect and education system - this kind of movies may be the right fit.
People can say it was Prabhas movie, But i was glued to my seat esp for Amit Ji 🔥💐. Hopefully they make this an ensemble cast like Ponniyin Selvan 🤌 for next part. What a movie ! No need to compete with Hollywood. We have our own audience, expectations n movie culture. Big B and Prabhaas set the screen ablaze. Well written gripping script, soooperb vfx , spiritualism, values, futuristic set up, nice bgm n Avengers type vibes... n above all Nag Ashwin the director makes a massive entertainer to appeal everyone. Let's call him AAG ASHWIN n not Nag Ashwin. A must watch. Completely different cinematic experience. Nothing much to regret if u miss the 3d version. Nothing so spl in 3d. 2d is equally good.
I have seen the movie yesterday, it has amazing concept, best VFX as of Indian Movies, but as you told, it gives a feel of fragmented storyline. Hope to get Kalki II better.
Amitabh Bachchan/Ashwathama was the best character and had the best screen presence in my opinion. And I absolutely agree with you. This movie was not meant to be about Prabhas or his character. Disha Patani was just a time waster. The Mahabharata scenes were really well made. And Kamal Hasan/Supreme Yaskin definitely deserves a back story. The movie also drew heavy inspiration from DUNE as well.

I've watched most of the Hollywood sci-fi movies, but in comparison with Kalki, I would say Kalki worked great, yes 1st half feels a little boring because of story building, and the 2nd half was amazing. Movie worth watching. Just waiting for Kalki 2.

As a telugu speaking guy I love prabhas' comic timing. but I think when it was dubbed in hindi the comedy has been diluted. when i saw the movie in telugu i loved those comic sequences. most of the hindi audience may synchronize with the comedy because most of the jokes are related to telugu pop culture.

Agree to disagree that Prabhas doesn't have comic timing. Before Baahubali, Prabhas did play fun characters with good comic timing. However, definitely agree that comedy in the first half and Disha's character were forced into the storyline. Could've used that time to establish characters better or build an emotional connect to bring in more impact in the later part of the movie

This movie introduces a lot of characters and builds up what is to come. It may seem jerky but coming from a literature student no body has attempted something this big, not even in the foreign films about their own history. So it’s better not to be this critical about it. Everybody has watched Hollywood and knows what vfx is and still likes the film. I found it phenomenal and proper use of a 600cr budget. I knew when ur video came around that its only gonna be critical lol 😂

I grew up watching Hollywood sci fi movies since childhood. But I'll tell you Kalki is the first ever Indian SciFi movie I'm excited about, not just the movie but for the overall franchise. Surely there areas the director needs to improve but this is the start. The director put 5 years in to this movie and it's our responsibility to support movie makers that are sincere to their craft as there are almost none left in Bollywood now a days.
The thing is if someone really put 5 years worth of work in this movie then this movie is absolute trash. There are at least 1000 things (like scenes, objects, looks) that are straight up copied from somewhere excluding our literature coz that's the selling point. Even if it was mediocre and not copied I would have said ok sarkar we are progressing. But combining other sci fi with our literature seems like a disrespect to our literature.

Having Prabhas in any film significantly boosts its opening potential for directors. When someone invests 600 crore in a film, they must prioritize recouping that investment. They can't afford to make poor decisions. In the telugu film industry directors understand that economics and won't risk casting just anyone in high-budget films.
Given an opportunity telugu directors would cast modiji, if they feel economics will work really well.. pehle paise kamao aur gyaan baad me dedo..
I guess that's all Prabhas has. A Very loyal but Small Fan Following that watches his movie on Day 1, sometimes Day 2 and 3 but when it comes to working days where Masses or Family audience comes in he fails. That's why his movies almost always fail to recover budget.
Then you have Shah Rukh Khan who not just gets big openings but his movies keep momentum with masses too.
Prabhas is an example of regional star with Loyal Fans.

It is not true that Ashwathamma did not like Karna at all. He was an amsa of Shiva/Bhairava and was quite stoic for the most part. He had a grudge against Arjuna because his own father Drona, favoured Arjuna over everyone else and did not impart all the secrets of the astras to everyone like he did to Arjuna. Karna was a student of Parshurama, same as Drona, and Ashwathamma had respect for anyone that had the same guru as his father.

Thank you for the review. I had personally written it off due to the Dune/Mad Max vibes it was giving... and then there was Prabhas. You have piqued my interest back in the movie for the love of Indian mythology. :) You are so right abuot our heritage being full of rich stories. Here's to hoping Hindi movies will adapt one of them instead of remixing old stuff and sell nostalgia yet again.
I watch kalki just for seing the visual and master cameo of bhagwaan krishn , man that was epic when he is telling arjun why karn is much stronger than him. Hats off to director to show india's who still dont know about mahabharat and the world where many people's don't know about indian history. Just praying for cameo of lord hanuman in kalki 2.

PROPHET Muhammad (PBUH) in Hindu scriptures
Following are the Hindu scriptures where his name finds mention.
According to Bhavishya Purana in the Prati Sarag Parv III Khand 3 Adhay 3 Shloka 5 to 8.
“A malecha (belonging to a foreign country and speaking a foreign language) spiritual teacher will appear with his companions. His name will be Mohammad. Raja (Bhoj) after giving this Maha Dev Arab (of angelic disposition) a bath in the Panchgavya and the Ganga water (i.e. purifying him of all sins) offered him the present of his sincere devotion and showing him all reverence said, “I make obeisance to thee. O ye! The pride of mankind, the dweller in Arabia, Ye have collected a great force to kill the Devil and you yourself have been protected from the malecha opponents.”
The main points mentioned in the Kuntap Suktas i.e. in Atharvaveda book 20 Hymn 127 verses 1-13 are:
1- Mantra1
He is Narashansah or the praised one (Muhammad). He is Kaurama: the prince of peace or the emigrant, who is safe, even amongst a host of 60,090 enemies.
2- Mantra2
He is a camel-riding Rishi, whose chariot touches the heaven.
3-Mantra3
He is Mamah Rishi who is given a hundred gold coins, ten chaplets (necklaces), three hundred good steeds and ten thousand cows
A similar prophecy is also found in Rigveda Book I, Hymn 53 verse 9:The Sanskrit word used is Sushrama, which means praiseworthy or well praised which in Arabic means Muhammad (PBUH))
Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is also prophesised in the Samveda Book II Hymn 6 verse 8:
“Ahmed acquired from his Lord the knowledge of eternal law. I received light from him just as from the sun.”
In Purana (a holy book of Hindus) it is stated that Kalki Avatar would be the last messenger (prophet) of God in this world for the Guidance of the whole world and all human beings.
It is stated in Vedas that God would teach Kalki Avatar through His messenger (angel) in a cave. Allah taught Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), through His messenger Jibraeel (Gabriel) in a cave known as Ghaar-e-Hiraa.

Moreover,Quran is called the miracle ,a book being called a miracle must push human mind to look towards it as this age is the age of intellect and science and technology is the yardstick where everything is measured.
The time has come for all of us to seriously think and ponder over Quran, the final book bestowed upon Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) especially in the present scenario of the world when humanity is threatened and dissect its teachings to apply to solve the problem of humanity.

What many dont understand is our Indian film industry is not Hollywood we dont have self sufficient production houses which can independently cough up crores of money on unknown actors directors like nag Ashwin csn only get bigger budget only when there is a star like prabhas in the film only then financers will fund distributors will pay bigger money to buy the rights disney or warner bros csn spend 100 million on a new actor bcz they own distribution infrastructure to cinema halls they can promtoe a film and release it in 5000 screens by themselves no indin producer can do that and hence they need a crowd puller a start like prabhas or khans infact we need to appreciate prabhs despite knowing that his role is not the central plot of the movie he still agreed to do the part not many stars in our industry do that the only reason this film got greenlit is only bcz of prabhas weather u like him in the movie or not

Firstly, i don't think you could be talking about avatar and any indian film in same sentence because the budgets are humongous. I personally worked in indian and Hollywood vfx , so i can tell you there will be a night and day difference in every aspect. But with given budget , if they can achieve so much, its a miracle, we need to appreciate the work..Also this is a telugu movie, so we would enjoy the subtle humour because we have a background connection, can understand why others might not.

I liked the movie but after seeing your review, I am thinking your points are valid. I also think the characters are not in depth (we never come to know about the Mariam like who is she or how Shambala became rebels etc). I hope 2nd parts covers all these!!

In the Kalki Purana, Kalki is born into the family of Vishnuyashas and Sumati, in a village called Shambala on the thirteenth day during the fortnight of the waxing moon.
2. ASVATTHA TREE (NOT TREE FROM PANDORA)- It is a sacred tree for the Hindus and has been extensively mentioned in texts pertaining to Hinduism. In Buddhism, the Bodhi Tree under which Gautama Buddha gained enlightenment is also of the same species. The Tree's roots are upwards and it is said Kalki Avatar will be born below that Tree.
3. ASWATTHAMA- His body is covered with wounds due to the curse so he covers it with white cloth and bandages which we do today when we bleed. Gandalf's outfit is completely different I don't know how idiotically you guys are comparing him with Gandalf😂. Hopefully, Ashwatthama will get back his armoured suit in the next part.

It’s a Telugu movie being dubbed in other languages , so his comedic timing is excellent for Telugu people , and cameos tooo we enjoyed a lot . Amitab sir is seen as such , we don’t feel as if overshadowed prabhas in south may be in north people seeing him in different role after long time gave u lots of joy .

If they make truly SciFi movie or gimmicks like elevation of Hero above the story presentation - they won't make even those 600 crores - so be a roman in Rome. Movies, Media and Politics are the collective intellect of a culture and collective intelligence of education system - so for our current intellect and education system - this kind of movies may be the right fit.

No need to compete with Hollywood. We have our own audience, expectations n movie culture. Big B and Prabhaas set the screen ablaze. Well written gripping script, soooperb vfx , spiritualism, values, futuristic set up, nice bgm n Avengers type vibes... n above all Nag Ashwin the director makes a massive entertainer to appeal everyone.
Let's call him AAG ASHWIN n not Nag Ashwin. A must watch. Completely different cinematic experience. Nothing much to regret if u miss the 3d version. Nothing so spl in 3d. 2d is equally good.

Amitabh Bachchan/Ashwathama was the best character and had the best screen presence in my opinion.
And I absolutely agree with you. This movie was not meant to be about Prabhas or his character.
Disha Patani was just a time waster. The Mahabharata scenes were really well made. And Kamal Hasan/Supreme Yaskin definitely deserves a back story. The movie also drew heavy inspiration from DUNE as well.
