When Goku was a kid he killed Mercenary Tao, a Red Ribbon army assassin. He was brought back as basically a cyborg like Frieza. In the Cell saga fillers there was a scene where Goku shows up to stop some criminals that Tao is helping and he basically just shits himself in fear at the mere sight of Goku. Abridged shortened that to Tao just screaming while Goku questioned him about South Galaxy.
37:50 No, Broly's father is not a super saiyan. He's just an ordinary saiyan. Like, we're talking weaker than Nappa most likely. Power level of a few thousand, tops. While super saiyans are like... in the hundreds of millions at this point. Man, it drives me crazy that almost all reactors skip the credits song for this movie. It's an original song by TFS, it won't get copyright struck, and it's hilarious.
“Princess Trunks” “Please No” “YOU LIED TO ME…” “I did no such thing” “……You dirty boy” “😐 Goku get me off this planet right now use instant transmissioahh”
34:37 The Namekian Guru's brother, Lord Slug is called a Super Namekian. I'm not sure if he actually is one, but he is definitely different from other Namekians.
Both Piccolo and Slug are Super Namekians. There just isn't really a transformation associated with it. It's purely a strength and potential thing. Piccolo was just weaker than Slug because he was two beings split apart, but once he fused back with Kami, he regained the strength of a Super Namekian. It's even started that if he had fused back together with Kami, even as far back as Namek, Piccolo would've been FAR stronger than Frieza was at that point. Slug was also a Super Namekian, as he was much stronger than any Namekian other than Piccolo in his true form. But I'd imagine a large part of why Slug was so much weaker than Piccolo was in his true form is because despite wishing to be young again, I don't think that undid the centuries (possibly millennia) of atrophy he had accumulated because he wasn't able to train properly due to his old age. Like, he wished to be young specifically, not to be taken back to his absolute peak physical condition.
Here's a fact to consider; Goku and Bulma, the two main characters of Dragon Ball, both married into Royalty. Goku married Chi-Chi, daughter of the Ox King, making her the Ox Princess and Goku the Ox Prince. Bulma married Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyans, making her the Princess of the Saiyans.
3:44 the best way to look at it is the movies take place in their own timeline and are canon to eachother (as far as DBZA is concerned) but they do not connect to the mainline show. Some events do happen from the show in the movie Canon, but the movies do not actually connect with the main show. Trust me, people have spent countless hours trying to piece them in, and it just doesn't work.
@@silentassason Bulma mentions Dr. Wheelo in the android saga. Besides an appearance in SDBH in 2020, after the abridged episode was made, he was a movie-only character. Sounds like, if this is a quote, they are just making it up as they go along.
@@Elzzaw and they've referenced cooler as well but that doesn't mean the movies are connected. There's no where in the timeframe the events of the movies could have happened in the main timeline but the characters of the other timeline still exist
@@silentassason See, now it just feels like you're making excuses for them. They mention movie characters, but the movies don't exist in their universe, gotcha. They clear up the time-line quite well the way they handled things in DBZA. Why go to the effort to bring Cell into the Broly movie if you don't want them to be connected?
you gave a horrified look when broly exploded. Broly, as you have heard, is the Legendary Super Saiyan. in a literal sense, not just figurative. his immense power comes from the fact that his power level is constantly rising. Where goku and the others typically slowly lose energy while staying in Super saiyan form, broly actually gains energy, but he has his limits and if he does not release said energy, he would self destruct. Goku punched him so hard that the energy basically broke free from inside broly and thats why broly exploded also, the line "My power is maximum" comes from a very old newspaper article, where a kid was asked who his favorite super hero was. the child said "broly from dragonball, because his power is maximum", with a childs drawing of broly
This is correct, from my understanding. The actual dialogue from the real Broly film better helps paint that picture, I think. It's also why back in the Namek Saga when they referenced the "Legendery Super Saiyan," they mention that his power consumed him (paraphrasing, I think), but it suggests that the previous Legendary Super Saiyan may have succumb to their own, never-ending energy. Since Dragonball Super, though, I think they may have retconned the "Legendary" aspect of this specific kind of transformation as we see another female character canonically transform like this, too. It may be referred to as like "Berserk Super Saiyan" or something like that as it is more akin to their Great Ape transformation while maintaining their humanoid appearance.
In the original version King Vegeta was successful in stabbing Broly and Goku's crying reminds Broly of his near death trauma. What's still dumb about it is that 'Kakarot' is the trigger, if Bulma and baby Trunks came with to New Vegeta Trunks' crying would have made more sense to trigger Broly.
It's weird how fast people in the dragon ball universe just forget stuff exists. I remember in og dragon ball where everywhere they went there was weird stuff like magic or monsters that everyone was conscious of, but now nobody remembers piccolo, nobody remembers the saiyans, and everyone is dumb enough to believe hercule killed cell
@@chriskoloski32yeah. Especially with the buu saga. Like when goten did the kamehameha they acted as if it was the first time they’d seen it. And literally replied with kids carrying meteors in their back pockets.
13:50 That man was "Mercenary Tao", a fairly significant antagonist in the OG Dragonball series. Goku fought and beat him as a kid and a grenade explosion resulted in him coming back with the mechanical augments. Anyway, now that it's years later and with all the power spikes, Tao would stand no chance against Goku. So combine that with the trauma he endured with his initial defeat, and that's why he couldn't stop screaming after seeing Goku again. And to add the cherry on top, when Goku gets back to King Kai, he lists off "Mercenary Tao, Piccolo Tien, and Pilaf." All whom were antagonists in the Dragonball series which in itself is absurd because none of them would have even the slightest chance or opportunity to wipe out an entire galaxy. Not to mention Piccolo and Tien are good guys now, so why ask them at all? Good stuff
Animation for DBZA was taken from DBZ Kai which came out after Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan; Kai was essentially an abridged DBZ with newer (at the time) animation which explains why this and the rest of DBZA look slightly different
19:50 Love me some alliteration. 37:49 No. Paragus wasn't a Super Saiyain. 38:36 Sure. Broly was at least able to destroy an entire galaxy. Which in DBZ is one fourth of the entire Universe. Cell was stated as being Solar System level. There are billions of solar systems in a galaxy. You do the math.
It almost makes you wonder if Goku could have defeated Perfect Cell had the others simply agreed to lend him his energy. If he became strong enough to kill Broly (Galaxy-Level), surely he could have defeated Cell (Solar-System-Level) handily. Then again, I know Goku's whole point was to push Gohan into filling his shoes... That, and it's like asking why the Eagles didn't just try to fly Frodo into Mordor... There'd be less of a compelling story... Still, if this "lending of power" is a think that they could all innately do in some fashion, you'd think the Z-Fighters have been in dire straights enough to have considered using such a tactic more often.
They know about saiyans, given when nappa and vegeta came they blew up a city. But the people don't know about the main cast saving the world all the time, most of the time no one knows anything is happening, and when they do there is a explanation for it all that excludes goku and the others
@@BJGvideos idk if in cannon they do, but in dbz yes. A TV reporter in ep 55 i think(the one when goku and gohan leave the chamber) describes cells fight against the human military, saying "even the attack of the saiyans 5 years ago pales in comparison to this overwhelming threat, as if comparing a cataclysm to a rampaging toddler". So yeah I don't think they know in cannon (at least if they did it was probably ret conned cause the super hero movie's plot makes no sense if the average human understands what a saiyan is.
The reason Trunks looks different to you is because his hair is longer from training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but in the show he usually had his longer hair at the back of his head tied back into a short ponytail. Also in the show you never see him with long hair and his original outfit with the capsule corp logo (he is always wearing Saiyan armour made by Bulma at this point in the story whenever he has longer hair) so it's doubly strange
I'd say that the room setup is more minimalist and cozy than amateurish. As for the screaming guy, that was Mercenary Tao, old antagonist from the original Dragonball. Goku was basically asking all his old antagonists, including Piccolo and Tien, cause I guess he figured it had to be a previous villain. Why was Tao screaming? Well, Goku did just pop out of thin air, and Goku is the reason why Tao is a cyborg now. He probably has PTSD. Also, that Royal Grand Vizier is a layered joke. For one, that was Nappa's old job, seen in the flashback with his vizier crown, but Paragus says that those are big shoes to fill. As in, Nappa is really big, so he literally has really big shoes, or boots in this case. Krillin: "Hey, Goku! I brought the Shamoians!" Goku and Mattables: "...why?!" 🤣🤣🤣 Also, that origin of Broly hating Goku? They didn't change that for the abridged series at all. Don't get me wrong; crying babies are the worst, but you'd think The Legendary Super Saiyan (tm) would have a better motivation. You're correct: Piccolo used to call Gohan nerd and runt. That slap fight with Broly always gets to me. 🤣🤣🤣 As for the "everyone giving Goku energy" thing, I think it's more of a "do or die" thing. Like, if the attack fails, then they all got nothing left, but who knows?
This version of Broly is probably stronger than Cell but hard to determine by how much... however new Broly from Dragon Ball Super is completely different league and would easily kill cell in a second. Ps. One shoting cell with combined energy probably wouldn't work because of his regeneration , also this movie is not cannon and the only reason why it worked was, as far as i remember, that Broly's body was at the edge of holding that much power.
Technically, Cell having a nucleus in one cell in his head that if destroyed kills him means Vegeta/Goku both could have killed him if they hit it. In fact, Goku's Instant Transmission should have dead ass. If he just hit all of Cell with it and not his head, Cell dies. So yeah this would have killed him lol Final Flash would have too if Vegeta could aim shit lol
The public knows about "Saiyans" as a vague concept because of Nappa and Vegeta attacking the earth. However, nobody knows that Goku, Vegeta, and everyone else ARE saiyans.
In lore, Broly is basically a cosmic level wrecking machine who is defeated by being unable to contain his own unstable form of energy, causing him to explode and then be hit by a comet which explodes the planet. He survives this by the way. In terms of raw power, it's not even a contest in Broly's favor. However, Broly suffers mental decline and impulsive bestial actions as he maintains his Legendary Super Saiyan form, as his mind/body is not capable of handling it long term. Cell is much more of a tactician and a martial artist over Broly, but Cell likes to play with his food and demonstrate his power over others until it is clearly demonstrated that he does not have control of the situation, in which case he does anything to win. In a match between the two it would likely end in Broly's favor, as Broly would swing hard out the gate, surprise Cell, likely highly damage him before he regenerated and then Cell would attempt to do something drastic to Broly. However, Broly has shown he can survive planet breakers regularly, once as an infant against Freeza, again as an adult when the comet impacted planet vegeta and exploded it, and as such would likely survive Cell's best efforts. Cell is an amazing opponent, but Broly as shown in the movie lore, is another beast entirely.
oh boy this one 2:53 probably 4:13 more original animation 6:43 only vaguely, they're mostly satanists 12:43 base broly throws everyone off 13:32 Tao paipai, a bad guy from og dragon ball 31:34 they cancelled his movie 😔 31:55 he did. then he became his proper dad 32:57 all from different dubs 41:53 movies aren't canon
The guy screaming was Mercenary Tao from OG DB that Goku fought as a kid. So the bit was Goku asking all the villains (and reformed villains) from OG DB if they blew up South Galaxy (well also Cell but probably to show when this movie takes place in the DBZA timeline). Broly vs Cell is hard to figure out but I’d say maybe Cell because he can regenerate. There’s a second Broly movie in OG DBZ and that Broly can probably beat him. There was a funny reference to something that happens later in DBZ from Goku in the movie 😆 Also in the actual film, he was stabbed and where Goku punched him was where he was stabbed so the superpowered punch, in the one weaker spot on his body, plus his overflowing power was what caused him to basically blow up. And if Goku did the same to Cell, Cell would probably just regenerate so that’s why they don’t do it. Also there’s a new canon version of Broly in DBS in case you didn’t know.
Krillin singing at the beginning is especially hilarious if you've heard his VA actually sing (like in the end of this movie but i guess you skipped that haha. But a more accurate view would be over the end of the Hellsing Abridged, Shine, since the song is played straight. I don't remember if the general population knows the name saiyan but they know about these weird monkey-tailed aliens that blew up a city and slaughtered armies. Kinda hard to keep that under wraps. "And that *monster* Pilaf". They recorded a scene for this but it would have needed all new animation. To give you some idea, Pilaf and his gang are basically the Team Rocket Trio if the three of them were the entire organization, with about as much of a success rate. There is a version of their recording with some art though! I forget if TFS themselves made/commissioned the art or if it was fan made but they did show it off during one of their behind the scenes talks.
The screaming guy was an assassin goku killed as a kid who was then turned into an android, but he was then beaten again and told to never show his face again so seeing adult goku probably scared the shit outta him
To answer your question about the people on earth knowing about saiyans, no, they don't know, only goku's close friends and relatives know about his alien heritage
13:50 or so that is a character from original dragon ball that Goku fought the joke was he went and spoke to all the villains he knew about even the OG villain of dragon ball Pilaf to ask if they blew up a galaxy of witch only cell could even come close to the rest baring Piccolo are barely city block level it would take them days to dismantle a city Also Tao is a character that acts as a guard/ Assasin and keeps getting traumatized by Goku and his family both him and Gohan kick his butt
Broly would probably wipe the floor with Perfect Cell. Seeing how he has Goku's DNA, He'd get curb stomped unless he absorbed Broly. Then he'd be an even greater threat.
So whenever you finish watching Dragon Ball Super and you get to the Broly movie, you will see how much better things are when handled by Toriyama. All of the previous DBZ movies werent canon, Toriyama might have given a general outline and designed some characters but was hands off. For the DBS Broly movie, he was much more involved and it really shows.
*cough* Resurrection F *cough* Half the DBZ movies break less canon rules than that mess lmao Would love for them to have Broly-canoned some of those other villains, though, the movies had some amazing thought concepts
They DB citizens likely know Goku exists, because he had a bit of a name in OG Dragonball, but the Cell Saga is over 10 years after the end of the OG Dragonball. The Saiyan invasion got media coverage, but tnobody ever got to see what the Saiyans looked like, nor did they know about the fight. People remember Piccolo because King Piccolo tried to take over the world in OG dragonball and the current Piccolo tried to do the same in the final arc. Because of this, Piccolo can't hang out in public because people remember him from when he was still a villain. The Androids and Imperfect Cell also got coverage, but the Z fighters didn't. Aside from their fights in the World Martial Arts Tournaments in OG, nobody outside of the main cast knows about the Z Fighters' many battles
38:37 In terms of power, Broly would wipe the floor against Perfect Cell, and according to the creator of the character, he would be an unstoppable force that not even the strongest character in DBZ (even in the last saga) would be able to defeat him. (Yeah, he overexaggerated his strength to the point that the only way he lost was due to plot device. )
Probably my fave DBZA movie next to the second Cooler one (a shame it's the last one they worked on), though shame about you skipping the ending credits song, lol. Glad you enjoyed it too
There is somewhere in the ballpark of 50-500 random people that know real details about goku Maybe 5000 that know he's a hero who saves the world. 99% of the world doesn't seem to believe or understand ki control is real
In the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, which is canon and made Broly canon, King Vegeta ordered Broly to be exiled to a remote and desolate planetoid. Literally meant to be a death sentence, but without putting the stigma of killing a child on his name or legacy. When Paragus rightfully calls him out as being scared of Broly's potential, King Vegeta argues that such a high power level as a baby is anomalous, and would make him unstable as he grows and it grows with him. Honestly a better argument would have been that if he's so strong as a baby, no one would be able to stop him if he was to go on a rampage as an adult, but King Vegeta was barely trying to rationalize his decision because; well, he was the king. Plus the pod he was exiled in had already been launched anyway. Paragus calls BS on King Vegeta's rationalization and goes after his son, but later in the movie when Broly is fighting Goku and Vegeta, Paragus becomes scared of Broly's power and either as an internal monologue or talking to himself comes to the realization that King Vegeta might have had a point.
Did the dragon balls make people forget about them at some point? If not, somehow, they just forgot about the dudes who turned an entire city into a crater.
thankfully they rewrote Broly's backstory for his Canon inclusion in Super which makes him a much better character all-round then this version which was always non-canon. Broly's power is also the source of his down fall as unlike everyone in DBZ universe transforming uses up energy/ki so requites a great deal of training and conditioning etc be able to effectively use something like that, for him it actual increases his Ki which basically gives him unlimited energy and ever increasing power level but this energy must be burn off or expelled often or he would explode from within like a balloon if you were continually adding in more air. Goku's attack worked so effectively as it hit the area that is a very key point in the body's Chakras in Tai Chi (called the Manipura) which is said to be the focus point of ones "personal power" now this is meant to mean your Will and Focus but in DBZ it seems to be taken much more literally, the blow transferred all the combined energy from them all into Broly which instantly pushed his body over the limits of what it could contain. Broly killed his Father due to him finally being free of his control - in the OG it is revealed that the circlet Broly wore was keeping him docile and Paragus had been using him more like an attack dog then treating him as his own flesh and blood but hearing Goku's Saiyan name triggered such a flood of power that he was able to regain some control, he actual fights the gang for abit in a Suppressed Super Saiyan state in the film (slightly buffer then his normal form but with blueish/green hair like we see just before he fully transforms in the DBZA.
-Since you asked, no this doesn't take place before Cell. It doesn't take place AT ALL. The movies aren't canon, and none of them actually can fit in the timeline. This one takes place basically during the time when they were waiting the 10 days or whatever for the Cell Games, after Gohan and Goku come out of the Time Chamber, because Gohan is Super Saiyan in this movie. However that's impossible because Vegeta goes in after them and they don't have any points in time where they are all together like this, before they go fight Cell. -Also, no, the public doesn't know about Saiyans, even in the Abridged. That was just a joke on how many colleges have programs that allow minority groups to get in at a lower standard. -Yes, you're crazy. That is what Trunks looks like after being in the Time Chamber. His hair grows, and he even has that hair during the entirety of fighting Perfect Cell. -The thing with Brolly "getting triggered" by Paragus saying Kakarot, you saw later the explanation. That's actually the real explanation in the movie lol -Also, something to keep in mind I guess. Brolly is called "The Legendary Super Saiyan for some reason. That's..weirdly just the version of Super Saiyan he is. They ended up calling his form, with hair that's more green-ish than blonde, the "Legendary" level of it. No idea why they'd be that confusing. He's not the one that in the show that Vegeta always talked about. All they did was make it confusing. -Also, another funny reference, the "safe word" they used, was "broccoli". All the Saiyans are named after vegetables, With Vegeta being super obvious, and Kakarot being Carrot. Brolly is broccoli, so....yea lol -"It's your movie next." You assuming that's correct, is correct. lol -No, Paragus is not a Super Saiyan.
@@bbillyktrue, however that was in one universe only, in DB Multiverse which is a fan made but incredible Manga, there is a Namekian that managed to fuse while traveling to different universes and he is op as fk. In that manga also is like the Top but with only different versiones of the same characters, for example there is one multiverse in which Frieza was killed by Bardock and planet Vegeta was not destroyed and the Vegeta became King, one in which Majin Buu won and absorbed all Z warriors and became incredible strong, etc
The issue with comparing Broly and Cell is that they're from different continuities, the movies are not canon and take place in an entirely separate timeline. There's really two ways you could go about comparing them, one being the framing of the stories and the time they take place, and the other being actual feats and statements. Going by the framing, Broly dominated the Z fighters all at the same time whereas Goku, while clearly weaker then Perfect Cell, actually put up a decent fight. Going by that, it stands to reason that Broly is a good bit stronger then Perfect Cell, but likely would get overpowered by Super Perfect Cell. Going by actual feats, it's a LOT less close. Broly in his Restricted Super Saiyan form (blue hair, we barely see it in the abridged version) was able to destroy the entire South Galaxy, which in actuality is a supercluster of galaxies that makes up one quarter of the universe. In Broly's second coming, Gohan fought SSJ Broly (yellow hair) in base and they were relatively even, then Gohan went SSJ 2 and Broly went LSSJ (green hait + buff) and Broly dominated the fight. That means that LSSJ is over 100x stronger then basic Super Saiyan, making it a 10,000x multiplier from base. In other words, Legendary Super Saiyan Broly from the first movie has the power to destroy the universe 25x over and that's likely a massive lowball. Perfect Cell on the other hand is at best only solar system level, which would make him so much weaker that it's pretty much unquantifiable.
Many of the questions you have about "why can't they do X?" is because this Broly Movie is not canon. There is an actual canon appearance of Broly in Dragon Ball Super
And yes they ignore two methods that goku could have used to be stronger than cell, he could have borrowed energy like he did against brolly and he also he can make a spirit bomb and then absorb its energy like he did to beat Android 13 both of these methods being from movies is I think why they aren't used in the main story
38:30 It depends, based on transformation alone Cell wins unless he messes around with Broly. Broly's ability as a legendary supery saiyan is to become stronger the longer the battle lasts. Given enough time Broly would overpower cell, unless he pulls a frIeza and blows up the planet out of spite.
All pure blooded saiyans are named after vegetables, and well Broly and the safeword is Broccoli re move cco and you got his name. See what they did there
Whenever you have a chance, I cannot recommend watching DragonBall Super: Broly enough. It officially made him a canon character, and made a few tweaks to this version of events so everything makes a bit more sense. In my opinion, at least.
A bit of context to the 10,000 power level, Nappa at his death has a Power Level of 4200 and Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga was just a little stronger than Broly. Goku without the Kaio-Ken is was 8,000
Bio Broly > Super Perfect Cell > Broly movie 2 > Perfect Cell > This Broly > Blue Broly which this version cuts out > imperfect Cell < Cell < Broly in base (black hair)
Paragus was not a super saiyen his power level is only 4500 compared to gokus which is in the hundreds of millions right now, and broly and perfect cell are both really similar in power level both being close to 1 billion
Its not an easy comparison with Broly and Cell (pre Cell Games) but many fans would probably give Broly the easy win. Now if you’re talking Cell post-explosion vs. Broly … hmmmm. I’d also be interested in a SSJ2 Gohan vs. Broly.
38:40 theres no concrete levels charted here broly was rumered to be roughly at the same level as super saiyan 3 goku, but its unconfirmed, while perfect cell was a match for ss 2 gohan thats only when gohan was tired and badly injrured with a broken arm, so lets say that full power ss2 gohan was maybe three times stronger than perfect cell, since super saiyan 3 and broly are said to be roughly equil then broly could still comfortably destroy ss2 gohan even at full power, meaning hed easily beat cell, but to be totaly fair, broly in this films beaten by a near detah terriably injured and exhasted goku becuase a terribly injured and exhasted vegeta gave him his remaining energy... so clearly your not supposed to think to much about it... toriama and the other writers cirtainly didint.
2:55 it's meant to sound like the dub voice of South Kai (the King Kai we know is North Kai, but there's a filler arc where we meet some more Kais of the same rank) 31:44 it WOULD have been Gohan's movie next, but Bojack Unbound ended up giving them so much trouble trying to script that it contributed to them discontinuing DBZA
The King does know about Goku and has his theories but most of the unusual stuff is written off as being related to Capsule Corp. Also once Mr. Satan is brought into the fold he becomes the front man for the whole operation. This plan is also terrible Vegeta a long time ago could have blown up the comet. He is the Legendary Super Saiyan somewhat. Turns out the legend is about the transformation in general so really all of the blond haired Saiyans qualify but Broly's version is a abomination of what everyone else does. It was inspired by Grade 3 the raging Oozaru personality. It touches on what is happens to in DBS where Saiyan (and Frieza) adapt their own transformations Broly just isn't able to control his yet.
No, Broly DOES NOT hate Goku for crying as a baby in the actual movie: That's a common misunderstanding (hence even TFS thinking it's true), but if you actually watch the original Broly movie, it doesn't even ever clearly establish that Broly remembers Goku as a baby. Rather, Paragus states that Goku's presence triggers Broly emotionally due to Goku's determination and power ("Does this mean that Broly's instincts as a Saiyan have been awakened by Kakarrot's power?"). The scene of them as babies together was to imply that they have tied destinies ("Broly and Kakarrot were born on the say day...Damn! the threads of destiny have once again intertwined..."). Finally, the crying specifically is presented as something to contrast the two characters and show Goku's spirit, where infant Goku's loud wailing made infant Broly sob being a thematic parallel to show Goku's determination and spirit (again, like the first line I mentioned: "Bardock's son, with a battle power of only 2, made Paragas's son cry! His battle power may be low, but that kid...named kakarott at least has a lot of guts!") in spite of his low innate power, in contrast to Broly's emotional weakness and instability despite his huge innate power ("He's just been born, and yet his battle power is already 10,000"_
Hey Matt hope you are having an amazing day! I was curious if you haven’t already watched/played them. Would you at all be interested to react to Markipliers choose your own adventure videos?
Matt I always wanted to say you give me huge doggo vibes like golden retriever vibes and I’ve been here for it King vagita thought that broly was too strong and would cause freeza to destroy the planet. Broly originally did hate goku… (cus goku cried a lot as a baby) in the new show he has a different backstory
Pre dragon ball super none of the movies were canon. Im not even sure they were made by toriyama. More like approved filler to hold people off until the manga or anime got updated. As such there is no HD version of the movies like there is with dragon ball Z kai
broly would be directly stronger than cell. he could struggle since cell has some quirks that could turn the battle around. Broly might not realize in time how Cell works.
34:56 Piccolo is technically a super namekian. Considering he is the son of piccolo sr. Who was a super namekian it would stand to reason he is one as well. Not much is known about them, aside from that they exist but i assume that super namekians are distinguished by the ability to grow giant, since we only see a few namekians do it, all of which are named super namekians. There is no legendary super namekian but in the latest dragonball movie Piccolo unlocks a new form that im shocked they didn't call that
Broly is a little bit stronger than perfect cell so cell would get his ass beat put perfect cell would not stand a chance against broly from super if broly from super would go all out cell would be flattened within seconds
Who is stronger Brolly or Cell ? :D in this movie he is defeated by super sayian goku in the new movie he isnt defeated by gokus god level bullshit level. So yeah brolly's power is maximumumumumumumum
He's already pausing the episodes enough (half of the time unneededly so imo) as it is, the unfunny/joke-spoiling not-good-for-first-time-watching Canadian subtitles wouldn't help things, especially this late in the series anyway
😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😊⁰ⁿ
I believe his exact words were even "Why me?" xD
I like to think Mercenary Tao is traumatized of Goku the same way Goku, and everyone else are traumatized by Popo
In that dialogue Goku explained that he basically went through all notable villains he experienced trough original dragon ball pretty much
Id honestly say mercenary Tao killed mercenary Tao. Because he was supposedly killed by his own grenade
37:50 No, Broly's father is not a super saiyan. He's just an ordinary saiyan. Like, we're talking weaker than Nappa most likely. Power level of a few thousand, tops. While super saiyans are like... in the hundreds of millions at this point.

@@TheDanlovejoy nope thats something else
Here's a fact to consider;
Goku and Bulma, the two main characters of Dragon Ball, both married into Royalty.
Goku married Chi-Chi, daughter of the Ox King, making her the Ox Princess and Goku the Ox Prince.
Bulma married Vegeta, Prince of the Saiyans, making her the Princess of the Saiyans.
I feel like they both fall out of the line of succession but they're at least nobility via marriage
"princess consort" would technically be bulma's 'title'

3:44 the best way to look at it is the movies take place in their own timeline and are canon to eachother (as far as DBZA is concerned) but they do not connect to the mainline show. Some events do happen from the show in the movie Canon, but the movies do not actually connect with the main show. Trust me, people have spent countless hours trying to piece them in, and it just doesn't work.
Close. In the actual DBZ, they are canon to each other, but not the main timeline. However, in DBZA, they are canon to the main timeline.
@@BrandonLunglani and scott have both said what i said in their creator commentary videos. That's where i got my information from
@@silentassason Bulma mentions Dr.
Goku punched him so hard that the energy basically broke free from inside broly and thats why broly exploded
also, the line "My power is maximum" comes from a very old newspaper article, where a kid was asked who his favorite super hero was. the child said "broly from dragonball, because his power is maximum", with a childs drawing of broly
Trunks walked so twinks and twunks could run
Don’t you mean kakatot and twunks
13:30 Mercenary Tao, this wasn’t even the first time Red Ribbon tried making cyborgs.
He has no real reason to hate Goku, since his involvement was entirely circumstantial.
6:43 the saiyan invasion was televised for everyone to see, don't forget nappa destroyed an entire army by himself
And the news cargo bot... who's cargo was people
Aww, look at the poor Saiyan: lost and forgotten to time!
It's weird how fast people in the dragon ball universe just forget stuff exists. That man was "Mercenary Tao", a fairly significant antagonist in the OG Dragonball series.
Even with the newer broly movie. Paragus had been on vampa for so long he still thought the super saiyan was still a legend/myth.
Do they know them by that specific name? It's been years since I read it
@@BJGvideos idk if in cannon they do, but in dbz yes.
I brought the Shamoians!"
Goku and Mattables: "...why?!"
🤣🤣🤣
Also, that origin of Broly hating Goku? They didn't change that for the abridged series at all. Don't get me wrong; crying babies are the worst, but you'd think The Legendary Super Saiyan (tm) would have a better motivation.
You're correct: Piccolo used to call Gohan nerd and runt.
That slap fight with Broly always gets to me. 🤣🤣🤣
As for the "everyone giving Goku energy" thing, I think it's more of a "do or die" thing.

Let’s gooooo. Probably my favorite movie? Hard to say, but it’s definitely top 3, it’s so good 😂
The guy screaming was Mercenary Tao from OG DB that Goku fought as a kid.
There was a funny reference to something that happens later in DBZ from Goku in the movie 😆
Also in the actual film, he was stabbed and where Goku punched him was where he was stabbed so the superpowered punch, in the one weaker spot on his body, plus his overflowing power was what caused him to basically blow up.
And if Goku did the same to Cell, Cell would probably just regenerate so that’s why they don’t do it.
Also there’s a new canon version of Broly in DBS in case you didn’t know.
Aw man, you didn't listen to the outro? That's one of the best parts.
Ohw I feel u with the orchestra😂😂, shadow of the erdtree is really messing with my blood press😂
OH MY GOD YOU DO DBZA STUFF IVE JUST WATCHED JOJO ❤
@ 18:46
Great call to Vegeta's response. 🎉
14:00 ah, the reference to OG DB.
Basically, you seen to have had an "only watched Z who dis" moment
As of current, only the king of the planet king Furry knows of Goku and his teams accomplishments.
The screaming guy was an assassin goku killed as a kid who was then turned into an android, but he was then beaten again and told to never show his face again so seeing adult goku probably scared the shit outta him
This was my favourite dbza movie! glad you enjoyed it!
To answer your question about the people on earth knowing about saiyans, no, they don't know, only goku's close friends and relatives know about his alien heritage
King furry actually does know about goku and his accomplishments
The people he asked were all the OG DragonBall villains: Tien, Piccolo, Mercenary Tao, Emperor Pilaf....😅
13:50 or so that is a character from original dragon ball that Goku fought the joke was he went and spoke to all the villains he knew about even the OG villain of dragon ball Pilaf to ask if they blew up a galaxy of witch only cell could even come close to the rest baring Piccolo are barely city block level it would take them days to dismantle a city
Also Tao is a character that acts as a guard/ Assasin and keeps getting traumatized by Goku and his family both him and Gohan kick his butt
*cough* Resurrection F *cough*
Half the DBZ movies break less canon rules than that mess lmao
Would love for them to have Broly-canoned some of those other villains, though, the movies had some amazing thought concepts
"I did it! I WON!!!"

"...oh no..."
nooooo you skipped the song at the end x.x
Noooooooo!!!!!!
38:37
In terms of power, Broly would wipe the floor against Perfect Cell, and according to the creator of the character, he would be an unstoppable force that not even the strongest character in DBZ (even in the last saga) would be able to defeat him. (Yeah, he overexaggerated his strength to the point that the only way he lost was due to plot device. )
Probably my fave DBZA movie next to the second Cooler one (a shame it's the last one they worked on), though shame about you skipping the ending credits song, lol. Glad you enjoyed it too
There is somewhere in the ballpark of 50-500 random people that know real details about goku
Maybe 5000 that know he's a hero who saves the world.
The public doesn't know what saiyans are, yet in Dragon Ball Super some people suddenly just know what they are.
Goku was yajirobes best man cause he introduced him to korrin in dragonball
That's actually the real explanation in the movie lol
-Also, something to keep in mind I guess.
Brolly is broccoli, so....yea lol
-"It's your movie next." You assuming that's correct, is correct. lol
-No, Paragus is not a Super Saiyan.
There is a theory that if all namakians able to fuse did it, the result would be one of the strongest beings in the series
Well I mean that happened in the ToP and while they were powerful in comparison to fodder characters they were still kinda shit.
I hate how this kind of teased that they were at least going to do the other world tournament. (The arc between cell and buu with Pikkon)
When they save the world Mr. Satan gets the credit
Dr.gero also knew about goku's alien nature as well
I definitely recommend/would love to see a reaction to the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie. It redid his lore and it was absolutely fantastic.
Many of the questions you have about "why can't they do X?" is because this Broly Movie is not canon. There is an actual canon appearance of Broly in Dragon Ball Super
KAKARROOOOTTTTT
I suggest we all run.
Even though this isn’t canon. This takes place after they came out of the time chamber. And yes I know I’m late
Trunks looks wrong cause its buff post chamber trunks in the capsule corp jacket
Your room set up is fine
So all DBZ movies are not canon or is not connected to the original story but dbza made them connected which is awesome of them to do
All pure blooded saiyans are named after vegetables, and well Broly and the safeword is Broccoli re move cco and you got his name. See what they did there
Whenever you have a chance, I cannot recommend watching DragonBall Super: Broly enough. It officially made him a canon character, and made a few tweaks to this version of events so everything makes a bit more sense. In my opinion, at least.
34:37 not for now atleast
6:42 Anyone else think he was just asking if minorities get enrolled easier
A bit of context to the 10,000 power level, Nappa at his death has a Power Level of 4200 and Vegeta in the Saiyan Saga was just a little stronger than Broly. Goku without the Kaio-Ken is was 8,000
No Paragus was roughly the same strength as Nappa @ 4200pl so less than half what baby Broly was.
Broly.
Maybe it’s amateur but I like the shield and the hawk hat
38:39 so i think that Broly would mop the floor with perfect cell, he is way stronger
You have to listen to the credit song
25:31 i mean you are of royal blood and someone by birth is stronger than your son?some pride there i think
2:55 it's meant to sound like the dub voice of South Kai (the King Kai we know is North Kai, but there's a filler arc where we meet some more Kais of the same rank)
31:44 it WOULD have been Gohan's movie next, but Bojack Unbound ended up giving them so much trouble trying to script that it contributed to them discontinuing DBZA
Grand Kai is canon now.... according to DBS manga....so technically...?????
Gotta be honest, that sounds dumber than the crying as a reason, lol
Damn you had so much catch up to do you could have just eaten the whole raw tomato
(Please tell me you got that)
Hey Matt hope you are having an amazing day! I was curious if you haven’t already watched/played them. Would you at all be interested to react to Markipliers choose your own adventure videos?
Honestly, that sounds like fun!
An elden ring playthrough would be fun maybe
Matt I always wanted to say you give me huge doggo vibes like golden retriever vibes and I’ve been here for it
King vagita thought that broly was too strong and would cause freeza to destroy the planet. Broly originally did hate goku… (cus goku cried a lot as a baby) in the new show he has a different backstory
Xqc and mr beast fusion?
There is no legendary super namekian but in the latest dragonball movie Piccolo unlocks a new form that im shocked they didn't call that
"Broly is kind of interesting as a character"
Weeeell...
Missing the blue hair
Personally I prefer the book of Howl’s Moving Castle
Broly is a little bit stronger than perfect cell so cell would get his ass beat put perfect cell would not stand a chance against broly from super if broly from super would go all out cell would be flattened within seconds
*amateur* but the lights on point
Also Broly's transformation scene, my goodness, sooo good😩
Xqc what up dog
Xqz?
Everyone Goku names to King Kai were the villians/antagonists of Dragonball 😂
Why do you move you neck like that
Stop breaking your stuff
Who is stronger Brolly or Cell ? :D in this movie he is defeated by super sayian goku in the new movie he isnt defeated by gokus god level bullshit level. So yeah brolly's power is maximumumumumumumum
If only he knew english canada has more funny stuff
He's already pausing the episodes enough (half of the time unneededly so imo) as it is, the unfunny/joke-spoiling not-good-for-first-time-watching Canadian subtitles wouldn't help things, especially this late in the series anyway
