Enjoyed this - I remember doing this ride in my teens, flew around. Now well into my 40s I’ve got my new bike in the post and can’t wait to get back out there. I’m already anticipating being horrified at my fitness level!
The South Downs Way crosses the A283 and continues in both directions. I mostly use the OS Maps app but the South Downs Way is well sign posted. I put a Strava link in the description of a lot of my videos, you can then follow them.
The Muddy Cyclist thanks, went over the weekend. One more question, for a terrain similar to this would a 29er be more appropriate? I struggled with the climb back from a283 hill on my 27.5 Vulcan ?
@@ImranAli-di9fl Personally I think 29er is the best, but that doesn't mean you won't have fun on 27.5. Won't make difference on the climbs, probably a bit easier on the descents with the 29er.
What a difference a few weeks and a bit of weather makes! A few weeks ago you were out on your own, now there's hundreds of people everywhere!!
Don’t think I’ve ever seen the South Downs so busy 😬

😆, you'll be fine. Just make sure you plan the following week off to recover
loving these MTB rides across the SDW :)
Cheers 👍
Nice one, been thinking of that same ride but cutting down to the seafront from chanctonbury ring and back home along there.
That’s still a good ride, but does avoid the Trueleigh Hill climb 🍾
@@themuddycyclist Exactly 😁 prefer a loop if I can anyway. Good to get a ride on the downs combined with a seaside ride home.
Sorry to hear about your stomach bug, hope all is better now, great video and superb music choice, i'm a sucker for decent music track 😀👍
Thanks buddy, fully recovered now but was as sick as a dog that night 🤮

@@travelwithbo_cam Nice climbing
Those lovely climbs either side of the Arun 😣
Oh yes, don’t you just love them?!
Nice video. What tyres do you use if you don't mind me asking? I'm looking for a new set of 29s for South Downs and the choice is too much :-)
I went for Maxxis Crossmark II, don’t do much gnarly stuff so was looking for a fast running tyre and these seem to do the job.
@@themuddycyclist Thanks for the info.
Hope you're fully recovered.
Thanks, but yes over it now
Hi, how do you stay on south downs way after crossing a283?
Also, what navigation app would you recommend for such routes?
