I don’t justify the terrible things these people we said to have done but actions have to be considered with the situation in Germany at that time and prior to this time. With the size of these organisations it would have been such an overwhelming experience to behold it would be difficult not to consider this must be the right thing to do, the way forward. For most basically educated individuals from an impoverished background it would have been difficult not to consider this is the correct way to behave regarding how these guards managed their work.
