- Snow fell in Downtown Seattle for a couple hours on the morning of December 20th, 2022.
There are audio problems with this video. Parts in my umbrella were coming loose so through the video past 10 minutes you might hear clicking and creaking. About 18 minutes into the video I turn the audio mono to try to make the clicking and creaking less noticeable. The sounds are still there, its just quieter. Pretty unfortunate and apologies if you listen in on the videos because the audio will be a bit worse than usual.
My son is homeless in downtown Seattle. Thank you for this video. I haven't heard from him in several months but I think I saw him in this video. You can't know how much this means to me. He is at about the 3:16 mark. Standing sort of below the Nordstrom sign.
So sorry to hear this- it can't be easy for either of you. As he's your son, can you offer him a place to stay? Or does he refuse you... I hope things get better
@@NostalgicAtmosphere That's the part that shatters my heart. He has mental health and drug problems. I do what I can for him but he chooses to remain on the streets. Sometimes I don't hear from him for months at a time. You captured him on video was huge for me. I hadn't heard from him in about 3 months. Most people who don't understand the pain of mental illness tied to drug usage think "you are his family give him a place to stay". It's never that easy. I wish it was! He wants to be where he is, which is also hard to believe or understand. Sometimes he asks me to put him up in a hotel for a few days to clean up and rest, so I do. I live in another state and have had him come to stay with me but after about a week he gets restless and wants to go back. Homelessness is a multi-headed snake and each homeless person has a story. I would tell you the depths of my pain but I know my son's pain is much worse.
@@kerrirogers3800 it’s awful, I’m so sorry. The sad part is only the government has the power to help people in his shoes, yet they won’t act. Look up carnivore diet vs mental health issues, it might help but you can’t force him to help himself. I hope things get better somehow… he has an amazing parent willing to put him up in a hotel & who cares about him, which is more than a lot have.

Thank you for this, I love seeing the winter atmosphere in Seattle. I live in Europe in a city with Mediterranean climate and we never get snow. PNW region of the States has always been fascinating to me and I really, really wish to visit one day. Seattle has a special place in my heart and it's so wonderful to be able to see it change with the seasons, even though I am not, and sadly cannot be there. This means a lot to me.

Can't wait to move down to the PNW again after living back home in Alaska the last 7 years. This snow is nuthin. We just got 4 foot in a matter of 8-10 days. Then it was -10°F for a week. Now it's 16° but there's 65 mph winds coming.
Love watching these vids and remembering living there, riding the bus and my bike to work. 😍😍😍

This place continues to go down hill. The only thing good about the snow is that it keeps the crime inside and the homeless off the streets.
Stay away from the poles, trees and signs. With 4K, I find myself ducking and dodging due to you're so close, I think were going to run into them! (Lol!)

Do people normally put on snow chains when it snows in Seattle? The streets are steep and I wonder how well they drive in the snow.
No people use studded tires mostly if it snows to much a few people will use chains but most stay home
