- Postcard valentines are so much fun to make and mail, even if you're making them just to mail to yourself.
I'm taking some examples of wonderful collaged postcards and using them as inspiration to create my own valentine collage-art postcards. I've got 3 postcard designs to share with you, I've marked the "chapters" of the video where of the three different postcard designs.
7:30 valentine with a floral design
17:00 valentine with the red heart
25:12 valentine with lots of red ephemera
Your cards turned out gorgeous. Great collage work. Blessings.
Gorgeous postcards!❤️❣️
I really love how your Valentine postcards turned out. You are such an inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing.
Margarete, your videos are so informative and inspirational, just by the way, your newsletters, that I enjoy very much, and I am looking forward to seeing them in my inbox. I make greeting cards and used to hate double-sided cardstock because I was agonizing over which side to choose to use and which one to sacrifice. And one day it came to me: copy the other side and use both of them. I donate them to local nursing homes, send them to our soldiers and just give them away in stores, post office, etc.
Yay! I'm so pleased you are enjoying the Vintage & Collage magazine. I'm working really hard on it and want to be proud of the results. So glad you like it! 😉❤️👍🏻
Lovely cards!
Thank you for making it OK to use other people's art as inspiration for our own. No matter what our own creations turn out beautifully different, but it gives us that much needed starting point. P.S. I feel the very same about Valentine's Day, so thank you for the ideas on how to enjoy it in an alternative way. Much love, Margarete! I'm glad I found you on the inter-webs.
Thanks for your comments, Dina ❤️ I appreciate them.
I love them all. They are absolutely beautiful!
Darlene here. Post cards are perfect. I collect post cards for everything: documenting our travels; for pictures; to send to my grandkids; you name it. Why not valentines? And why not collage? Love these. Thanks, Margarete.
Super! Have fun making them 😉❤️
So beautiful
Great cards, Margarete, but that first one you made is outta this world! Not to mention, you have very creative friends as well!
Thanks, Lynn. I do love those florals! 💐
Your Valentines are beautiful
Such pretty Valentine Postcards! I enjoyed watching your process Margarete, thank you for sharing. I made some Valentine's Day PC as well and I did send one to myself. It's always such a surprise to reach in my mailbox and find it :-) I often send one to myself, I like to see how they hold up on their journey-lol and I like having the postmark on one to add to my snail mail binder. Happy Valentine's Day 💝
I always like when the postmark is clear and prominent 😉 It's fun to get things in the mail, even if I'm the one who is sending it!
It's so funny this video popped up. I was just thinking about V'tine's Day projects for a senior group
in late January or early Feb. Thank you for the inspiration!
So glad this one landed in your suggested videos! I'm glad you enjoyed it 🩷
Very good cards! I will makes some for my family…
I love how you make this postcards....Please do more of that.. :-)
I plan to 😉. Thanks for letting me know 👍
I just made one. Thank you for the amazing inspiration
Enjoyed your video very much!
Thanks, Peggy 😘
I have been a member of ATCsForALL forums for years (don't go on there much any more). They swap all kinds of different art...ATC's, altered books, tags, postcards even scrap paper. And I've been on Postcrossing for 8 years. They just send postcards all over the world. You might be interested in these two groups.
these are gorgeous ! I especially like the card your friend made with the flower. I love your card as well. Not much of a send a valentine card person however, these will be perfect for some special friends who's friendship has been extra special these past 2 years. Just a note I just saw Ceri the Crafter completed Planner using your prompts for : Week 52 Margaret Miller CW planner 2021. I thought the prompts were great , and his planner turned out fantastic. thanks so much for sharing :)
Thanks for your comments, Cinzia. I'll go check out Ceri, too. ❤️
I love all of your post cards! They all came out so very cute! I can't wait until tomorrow to make some for my friends!
No, no, no. Red ink in the middle was the right choice☺️ It's beautiful!
A fabulous video chocked full of ideas. Thank you so much for the inspiration!!
Hello Margarete, those are beautiful postcards for Valentines, love the floral one.
Loved the cards you created! Thank you for the inspiration!
Awesome postcards, Margarete! Makes me want to get out of bed (it's 2 a.m.) and give it a try myself! For the first heart card with the hand-carved stamp, I was thinking you might outline the heart with a black pen or marker and maybe also go over the red stamped image with a black marker to turn it black instead of red, since you mentioned you thought maybe black ink would have been better! I appreciate your wonderful inspiration! I love to watch your videos!
I like that idea of outlining the heart with black pen!! I'm going to try that. Thanks for mentioning it. ❤️
Your postcards are fabulous! I love watching the queen of collage work, I always learn so much from you every time I watch you. I am doing your weekly challenge and loving it! Thank you for sharing your creativity with us. By the way I grew up in the Campbell, Los Gatos area. 😊🌸😊
Neat!! I was on Winchester Boulevard just this afternoon 😉. I appreciate your kind words.
Beautiful work! I used some iris folding for hearts but need background. You have inspired me.
OH My GAWWWWD--that sweet little mug is soooooo beautiful 🐾❣

Such a good idea! Sometimes a greeting card doesn’t fill the bill. Thanks for sharing the cards that were sent to you, as well as your tutorial! 💕
Love these! I actually really like the last one just as it is, but you need to be happy with it. Letting it sit is a good idea to see if you still enjoy it in a few days. :)
You are right, Dawn, and I ended up leaving it as is 😉
You expressed my feelings exactly about Valentines Day…and cards. I’m not bah-humbug for those who enjoy it, but I don’t care for doing valentine crafts. I do like the postcard idea though!
Good! I hope you'll try creating one and mail it to yourself 😉
Always a pleasure to watch you create! Will give them a try this afternoon.
Nice!! I hope you are happy with your results ❤️
I enjoyed this so much. I have been collaging small Valentine's for my grandchildren. Now I will do postcards for my close friends . You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you.🎨🖌
Wonderful, Jean! I'm glad you've got some new ideas ❤️
I love your round stamp. Any idea where I could get one?
The round stamp is from Hero Arts. You should be able to find it on their site. I bet Ebay has listing for it too.
@@MargareteMiller Thank you so much for your response. I was actually referring to the large stamp with the handle. I'm sorry I didn't specify. It looks like a genuine postal stamp. I've searched high and low and can't find anything like that. I love it!
Love the post cards. I too am not a Valentines fan but these are great. Where do you get the postage stamps?
I got those on Etsy, I think, but you can find them cheap on Ebay too. Look up something like "colorful postage stamps", and you'll get plenty of hits.
Lovely! Two questions: What do you do on the backs of the cards? And, why didn't you orient the one you did twice vertically, like the original? Just preference? Thanks for the inspiration! ~ Lisa
Darn! I should have talked about what to put on the back!! I need to do another video 😉. I like to put a piece of washi tape across the top and then write a note on the back, with the date. Make sure the address stands out. For the other, I changed the orientation of the papers because I had papers that would work vertically. Thanks for asking.
@@MargareteMiller Thanks for responding 😃
lol--not a big fan of V-Day either--but hey, it gives us ONE more "excuse" to make something fun to share. 💘💝❤🔥❣😎
Is it ME? Or is everyone else's craft supplies WAAAAAY cooler than what I have???💔😂🤣😂🤪
Yes! Valentines Day is definitely an excuse to create a piece of art. ❤️
Perhaps some numbers would have helped balance?
