Over Halfway to Mt. Katahdin: Beating the Summer Heat on the AT

Leaving Virginia felt like a victory over one of the longest portions of the trails. Maryland and Pennsylvania have been a breath of fresh air. The trail is pristine, and the climbs have leveled out.
In Harper's Ferry, we stopped by the ATC visitor center. They snapped our pictures and added it to the archives. At Amicalola Falls, I was the 1907th thru-hiker to register. Now, halfway through, my number is in the 900s.
