Thanks for uploading this. I always wanted to know more about the Pell years
Pell. Shrouded in mystery.
James Jones + Neal Anderson + John L. Williams + Lorenzo Hampton. 4 future NFL running backs. All 4 were 1st round draft picks.
Don’t forget about James Jones, the Fullback was a first Rounder as well.
OT Lomas Brown & LB Wilbur also Number 1 NFL Draft Choices. Lomas Brown in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
@@rogerwilliams5366 Lomas is not in the Pro Football HOF. Yet. I thought he was a lock while he was playing. But I guess not. 5x All-Pro, 7x Pro Bowler. No HOF. Hard to imagine. Barry Sanders was great. Lomas helped the cause.
I remember playing touch football with students on that turf after a game.
You could hear the reporters typing from the Press Box.
When we got out the stadium (most times you had to climb the North End wall, it was short back, to get out), we had green turf dust on the soles of the sneakers.
We wore a hell of a lot of orange back then
Yeah, what happened?
Spurrier wore blue back in the 60’s so he changed it.
@@terrancethomas9792 Good call by Spurrier. Let U of M have the orange unis.
Remember that catch by Jones. I was in South end zone and he caught it in North end zone. All I saw was his hand go up, ball hit it, and then everyone in front of me jump up and went crazy!!
I was also in the South End Zone, I saw this hand come of nowhere and pull in the catch.
I was a 10 year old at the Florida vs Tulane game at the New Orleans Superdome.
Where do you find these archive videos? This is seriously awesome
I'm a DVD collector who has a very good source. I have my favorites but I love all the old highlights of all the teams. Thanks for watching!
The Gators really hurt themselves back then playing the SEC, FSU and Miami then adding USC.
It was fun but it hurt success.
Adding a tougher game recently with Utah is not a great idea.
We could be 5-1 playing Georgia but we loss to Utah.
Vanderbilt hands the Gators a loss in 1982.
Charley Pell, what a shameless cheater he was. 107 documented NCAA rule violations. Equated with SMU back in the day. Removed as head coach in mid-season in 1984 and never coached again. Other schools didn't want to touch him. Later, severely depressed, he attempted suicide and failed at it. No doubt a cry for attention. What a cautionary tale and an example of failure, and who you don't want to be.
And yet he is 1 billion times a better man than the current occupier of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Sad thing was he didn’t need to cheat to win. Aside from that he knew how to coach!
