    There's too many videos explaining how HIMYF is actually a good show. Thing is, if a show is good, does it need to be explained that it is?

      [shrug] i've known some who had to explain to others why _HIMYM_ was a good show (other than pointing to IMDB ratings and saying "see!! It's got a 8.x rating!"), and still weren't convinced. I've talked with quite a few who were all over the place on _Friends_ with some saying it was awful, while others saying it's great, and there was a reason a 30-second commercial on there would set you back half a million $s.

      Thing is, if a show is good, why would anybody say it wasn't good?

    You said it. Every episode is relationship drama with everyone. The first 2 episodes, Sophie was worried about Ian and the next 3, she's worried about josh peck. Like the original had so many inside jokes like slap bet, the blue horn, bro code, dopplegangers. This one seems so bland in comparison, it feels more like the sitcom "2 broke girls" to me. Having 2 random groups join together plus the sister and the british bf who are also a new group, just seems so weird and forced. Having a clueless british character who acts like hes never watched american tv and thus get suprised over every little american thing is such a cliche and has been overdone. None of them seem to have jobs to worry about which again is strange. the original had problems with their jobs that made for funny situations. Like what if we had a seen with sophie doing her photography and she sees someone doppleganger, and then the whole episode can be about dopplegangers. Idk man, if the next episode is about more relationship drama with unfunny jokes, i cant watch it. Ive been watching up till now cuz its like watching a trainwreck that u cant look away.

      I think that theyre forcing a bunch of relationship drama because the show isn’t gonna last more than probably 2-3 seasons, and if each season is only 10 episodes, they have to stuff in all the relationship drama. I think they’ve fixed Charlie and Ellen, but the rest of the characters are just as bland. I was actually hoping last episode Sid would break up with his fiancée because I don’t see them lasting, and it could make for a huge twist, but that’s probably gonna happen at the season finale.

      "2 random groups"... I mean, that's a sit com, ain't it? I HIMYM Robin was the outsider.

      I watched the full season and I did like some things, but it isn’t anything special. I’m gonna watch the show until it ends though before giving an ultimate final thought.
      As for the HIMYM Finale, I actually really liked it, I just thought it should’ve been a 2 hour special instead of 1 hour since there’s way too much shit going on without much time to digest what’s happened. I agree with everything from that finale, but I hate how it was executed.

    I get it, IT SUCKS! HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER HAD CHARACTERS PLAYED BY PEOPLE WITH SERIOUS CREDENTIALS. FOR EXAMPLE, BARNEY, LILY, MARSHALL, WHICH THEN RUBBED OFF ON TED. IM TALKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO PLAYED THE CHARACTERS. THOSE ACTORS ARE seasoned and experienced, the actors/ actresses in HIMYF have little experience and it shows.

  • @sophiecooper1824

    Why ???
    HIMYM doesn't need a spin off unless it's one of the original characters like Barney with his daughter or Tracy's prospective on how she met ted. I know we had one episode which was amazing but i wouldn't mind to know more about her life before Ted.
    Himym is my comfort show, i recently started a rewatch again for the (i don't know how many times i watched it . It's to many to count from when i was a teenager) I'm on season 3 which is just absolutely amazing, can't wait to see Robin Sparkles again 🤣

    I can honestly say.
    Second time trying to watch the series.
    It's better.
    Idk later episodes, the characters just kinda grew on me.
    Going back and watching the first few episodes I'm enjoying it more because I enjoy the characters more then I did my first viewing.

    you're definitely viewing this as a comparison between the two. the negative points are all just different approaches from HIMYM and that just sounds like you have graduation goggles on. I would've outright hated it if they had another Ted/Robin set-up. Yes, the Jesse/Sophie set up is a will-they/won't-they, but if they do it right, there's absolutely nothing wrong with going this route. and the proposalfail seems weird to pick a fight with. i would say if there are negatives, it's that charlie and valentina's relationship is all sexual and no substance. ellen is just there to be funny but really isn't. jesse and ellen's dynamic isn't explored even though that's ellen's main reason to be there in the first place.
    and I don't agree that chandler didn't continue developing after getting with monica. he still had insecurities and worked through a lot while he was with her. not too different from marshall and lily having challenges and developing from there. i think you might just prefer HIMYM over friends, and sure that's fine, but listing it as a negative is weird.
    but I agree that joke about the phone charger was very bad

    I do agree overall that the show has potential but hasn't quite figured out how to put the pieces together yet but I also think you're being overly harsh.
    Many of the issues you point out, the original had too. It is very much a will they won't they sitcom and surprise surprise they will in the end. It's major storylines are also all about relationships. It may have had some episodes which focus less on it but then it also had more than double the episode count per season.
    You also exaggerate a lot. The pilot was a bit meh but hardly the worst ever. The mother saying she's just tipsy enough to include the sexy bits is really not that terrible a joke at all. When Ted told his kids that, despite telling them many inappropriate stories, he won't tell them whether he had a threesome or not, it was not funny either and made no sense.
    I also prefer the #proposalfail story over a clichéd "my parents got divorced, so I don't believe in love". Yeah newsflash, everyone's parents got divorced, get over it. It also introduces a love rival.
    The twist of her having met the father that night but still leaving room to introduce alternative options later, is quite brilliant actually, as it avoids the writing yourself into a corner trap the original walked into.
    You might disagree, since you seem to like the finale but then you also think Ted has gone through any kind of character development...when he hasn't, like not at all.... like his whole thing is to refuse to grow in any shape or form but to hold on to his childhood version of what love is.
    But enough has been said about that.
    So far I'm rooting for Sophie & Sid and my least favourite character is Charlie, who is just a cartoon character. There's nothing real or grounded about him.

      Barney was star of the show. He was sometimes draging the whole show foward by himself. He also was wasnt afraid to be sexist racist or homophobic for a joke. This new show has this crapy dont try to offend humor that is everywhere nowdays and it is unfunny and unnatural.

      It probably will after 2 seasons. Despite its last episode being the best and the show progressively getting better and better, the fact it’s only 10 episodes and it isn’t until Episode 5 that the show is starting to get pretty good is a bad sign.

    • @DominickSpano

      @@MichaelAnthonyPresents It isn't a very good show. I watch it because I pay for HULU, I don't have old fashioned cable, and there isn't much else on, but it is barely passable to watch each well. I don't want to follow this for years to learn who the father is. Just a season. I bet it is Charlie.

    • @MichaelAnthonyPresents
      @MichaelAnthonyPresents  2 года назад

      @@DominickSpano wouldn’t be shocked if it was Charlie. I want Valentina and Sid to get together. Their scenes together in Episode 3 showed they had so much chemistry together, much more than Charlie who I think should get with someone else instead that isnt in the main cast or just be a good friend to Ellen, not every character needs to find happily ever after.

    • @DominickSpano
      @DominickSpano 2 года назад

      @@MichaelAnthonyPresents I agree. Alot of folks talked about the fact that she met the father that night, but it is really meaningless. Josh Peck met her whatever after to give a cell phone charger. There is so much wiggle room that it doesn't have to be one of the main cast.

    • @MichaelAnthonyPresents
      @MichaelAnthonyPresents  2 года назад +2

      @@DominickSpano Exactly, but it puts a will they won't they in the mix as well. By Ted doing all the insane shit he did to try and get Robin, we the audience know she isn't the mother of his children. With this, we constantly speculate and it makes for a good mystery, but it opens up that horrible overused sitcom trope.
