The #1 reason, I as an INTJ do not conform is because I could see, even in childhood, that most of what I was being asked to conform to was wrong or inefficient. It's taken me most of my life to understand that most people don't want to hear things that contradict their assumptions and beliefs or which they cannot comprehend. So I have finally come round to the conviction that I just have to watch people making mistakes and just let them do so and hopefully learn from their mistakes instead of hearing about them from me.
INTJs keep your bodies healthy, find love especially with an introvert as they’re most understanding, we need all your smart brains for the good of the human race, think positively
Despite the existence of INTJ's, humanity always repeats the cycle of "improvement" and inevitable civilizational decay, proving its stupidity and worthlessness as a species. Also, "love" is conditional and a mere neurochemical reaction.
As an INTJ, I used to find it hard to not conform, since I was dealing with a lot of social anxiety at the time. But sometimes even though I didn't talk much, or at all even, I would find a way to be a non-conformist. Probably when I thought no one was noticing me anyways. I just never had that high ambition to achieve, or well I'm just an INTJ with not much confidence to put it mildly. Even after that time, if you ran into me I probably wouldn't say anything to you unless you said something first. Just a quiet INTJ here, that's all.
I corrected my teacher once in a history lesson as well. Everyone got quiet, but he did take it to appreciation. I know more when it comes to the depth of history, or could generate a more pragmatic answer for the subject.
@BlackSailPass_GuitarCovers You missed the point.... I don't partake in 95% of what "others of my species" give full throttle control to...THAT is the crux of my point.
@catherinerhea6336 I got your point, I'm just pointing out the obvious. If _you_ are a person and are logical, then it stands to reason that there must exist other logical humans too.
1) Independence. I agree with your general sentiment here, but you just also said we don't conform out of fear of mediocrity. And that we will be the dissenting voice just for attention. And no. We dissent because either we believe in our dissent or we believe that people should plan for dissent to ensure success, and we don't fear mediocrity if we conform on things. A broken clock is still right twice a day. Sometimes society and conformity makes sense. We just don't conform unless we're convinced it's a good plan.
You guys are lucky... Try being FEMALE & go down that list of yours again... I will always be the hingepin of the discord around me: I have never & will never "conform" to the "expectations" of anyone but myself... No one has ever been able to keep up w/me... & that's fine so long as they stay clear of my trajectories... Total VULCAN.🖤
A society where individual quality and excellence are punished. A society where deceitfulness and inefficiency are overlooked or even rewarded. What a world we live in. But if staying true to myself means going against the masses, then so be it.
@@catherinerhea6336Not sure if this is the case for you as well, but growing up, I began to adopt a sheep-wolf-sheepdog worldview. Sheep are like the blades of grass bending to the wind. They know no better than mediocrity and conformity. And if that means being a degenerate, then they will happily do so. I think you can probably guess what kind of person the wolf is. Then you have the sheepdog. Sheep hate them because they're a constant reminder that wolves exist. Because they have some of the wolf in them. Monsters they are, but they are controlled monsters. It's a matter of probability. What are the odds that the way the herd happens to do things the best possible way? Slim to none. And I will ALWAYS do things the best way I can.
I have a sheep-wolf-sheepdog kind of view of the world. Sheep are the masses, wolves are the predators concerned only with self-interest, and sheepdog are the few who can see through the mess and understand what the hell's going on and see a solution through it.
@@CCharles0519 Eh. I used to think like that, and functionally I still do in many ways. But I am losing my belief in abstractions like "the masses" or "most people" or "the average person". These are just words we use to cover up tjhe truth that the world is full of 8 billion complicated. unreasonable. unwise, and unpredictable people *just like you*
@TheComedyGeek I suppose I cannot put all the blame on the 'masses', because after all its in our nature as social creatures, though I hope you can see my point. They are like fields of grass bending to the wind, amongst which the occasional rock buried firmly in the ground can be found. I must also admit that INTJs, especially young ones, tend to have a superiority complex. Most people will avoid or even harrass a 'raw' INTJ, that is, those who don't put on a social 'mask', thus the vast majority of people tend to hold them in contempt or fear. This will make the 'raw' INTJ come to a crossroad. If others have such strong opinions of them, they must be different, and that must mean they are either extremely good, or bad, as a person, because they dont 'fit in', just like a rock will never look like the blades of grass around it. And since the INTJ apparently has a predisposition to perfectionism, they will perform especially well in their fields of interest. These two factors combined will naturally lead many or most INTJs to draw the conclusion that they don't 'fit in' because they are better than others. I will freely admit that I also have sense of superiority at times, having tested as INTJ multiple times in a row. I know this assumption is not ill founded and is at least partially truthful, but I still try to be careful with going overboard with it.
@TheComedyGeek You get my point though. Think of a field of grass, the grass bows to the whims of the wind, but among the blades of grass, the odd rock, buried firmly in the ground, can be found. The rock is not so easily swayed by the weather. I suppose this type of mentality exists for good reason. When an INTJ inevitably realises that they don't fit in, they will come to the conclusion that they must be too good or too bad, as a person, to fit in. Now when they also consider that they almost always excel in their fields of interest, or at least, seem to excel compared to others, they will naturally draw the conclusion that they don't fit in because they are better. And while this sounds arrogant on the surface, it's not an ill founded assumption. When you combine these two factors you can see how an INTJ draws such a conclusion. Admittedly, sometimes I go overboard with it too.
I've done the test a few times, sometimes i it leads to intj sometimes infj, and it seems I related to one or the other at different times or some of one in combination of some in the other
Oyo thats good to know. Yeh what I know is that there is very rarely such thing as possessing 1 type of any personality absolutely. Like noone is completely extroverted or introverted. There will be a majority/minority. Its normal to share traits with the neighbouring type and assume the personality trait intermittently. Same as some mental disorders.
I relate to most of these, but not questioning authority per se. I needed my teachers to like me and if something seemed contrary to my way of thinking I might raise my hand but would be too intimidated to argue (although to some people apparently questioning = arguing). Similarly in the workplace I would assume that a boss or supervisor knew better than I by virtue of experience (which they sometimes felt the need to point out), although I would get frustrated when my methods were nixed or truncated. I did argue with my dad a lot as his rules would seem arbitrary and nonsensical. As for impatience, I'm typically impatient with other people's impatience if anything. Things take as long as they take to be done correctly, *period*; and skipping steps or getting mad at any perceived "slowness" is short-sighted and lazy. And research isn't so much a matter of curiosity as necessity. Decisions can be made ONLY after all the pertinent information has been collected and all of the options reviewed, and individual facts make no sense without a context (i.e., a big picture) in which to place them.
I tested out as an INTJ, and found that I show many of the traits described. The only behavior I found different in myself is that I don’t really feel the need to argue my case unless pushed or cornered. Arguing with others was generally pointless as they usually didn’t think things through or developed their concepts on wealth foundations. I found it easier to let people go their chosen way.
Whenever I walk into a building or office, if it is clean, then I presume that the janitor is the most useful and diligent person there. From the mail worker to the CEO, they’d have to prove to me that they are more useful than the janitor…any single person’s title or description is useless to me otherwise.
I don't avoid conforming because I think it's lame. I don't conform if I don't agree with it. I'm only 2.5 minutes in, and I have to say, the narrator sounds like they're saying INTJs don't conform because it isn't aesthetically pleasing to them or something. In my experience, I don't tend to conform if I don't agree that whatever we're supposed to conform to- makes any sense. If I don't agree with it, I dislike having to pretend and go along with things. I'll vocalize as much, if I feel passionately about it... however, if I agree with it- like queuing up in line for something, then I will certainly confirm because I agree with the system or method serving the purpose it's meant to serve.
As someone who has repeatedly tested as INTJ, personal freedom of action and initiative are the sine qua non of this whole thing we call life...the collective and conformity, not so much.
The 'I' stands for 'Introverted version of the dominant cognitive function'. In the case of an INTJ, it means that the person's greatest strength is introverted intuition. Introverted intuition develops strong, confident beliefs and ideas about how the world should be or how it will be in the future, then compares that to everything the person sees, hears, touches etc. What matters most to them comes from within, from the subconscious world of dreams and imagination. When they decide to act, it is after careful consideration. Then, they strive to take something from their imagination and strive to make it tangible in some way. By contrast, an ENFP and ENTP's greatest strength is extroverted intuition. They focus on the outside world and look for meaning from their experiences that they then internalize to form a belief or opinion. They still easily find patterns, trends and can predict outcomes but the information they use to do so comes mostly from what they see, hear, feel, etc. rather than from their own imagination. It has very little to do with whether or not the person enjoys being around other people, but rather to do with what the main focus of the person is when they are trying to figure things out.
I've always been a Leader, & never a follower. If everyone else is doing it, I won't be. My Parents always told my Siblings & I while growing up, " If everyone is thinking alike, someone isn't thinking".

I mean...As an INTJ i'm not very found of going straight up against people on the top bc it would just get me in trouble. I'm more on the side of being annoying to them to the point they just leave me alone. Does this count as non conforming?
intj rule: never conform to stupidity. i was kicked out of my christian school because i refused to bend down to some of the rules. actual examples: teacher giving us personal email to talk about "moods between the classmates", literally pulling students to the office and telling them to spy on others, hounding on students for their appearance outside of school and in their free time, judging students for the music they listen to (aka if you're listening to rock/metal means you're a bad person). i was very vocal about my dislike for those rules. needless to say, i was hated by almost all teachers and even though there was no legal grounds to - i was demanded to leave the school or i'd be failed. my grades were way above average so there was no way this was anything but malice. they ended up lowering my final grades so much, my mom couldn't find another school. i was accepted elsewhere but teachers thought i was a dumbass due to my school certificate until i showed them the chart of my grades from that schoolyear (signed by the teachers themselves, mind you). my new teachers were in complete disbelief at what my previous school had done. i could've gone after them legally but i was exhausted from that whole mess and had an exam to focus on. it was worth it bc i scored second best at the entire school despite it all.
A lot of so-called Christian schools teach judgment, bigotry, and hate. It is good that you stand up for your conviction and were not manipulated into submission. Good for you! I would do exactly the same
This literally mirror's my character. I solved many ' unsolvable ' problems in the Health care field because I was given complete autonomy. No one to wreck my ideas or approach. I brought in close to a Million dollars over 6 month's because I didnt listen to the idiot's around me. Interesting.... Lot's of ' I's " there....maybe it's just ego.
Ugh so many videos get this wrong. It's not about control. Its not about not being 'mediocre'. It isn't even about "success". INTJ's are about doing it right. If your system or rule or community worked, you wouldn't need me in the first place. You want us to help, then let us fix it instead of just walking in the footsteps of failure.

I don't agree with the need to know why. If there's a process I just need to follow the steps, I can figure out why later. Or suggest changes later. Think I lost a job once saying that out loud at an interview. :)
Visionary and curious, intjs skew to logic, autonomy and efficiency to avoid mediocre underachievement. Yet as rebellious and detached loners, to authority they may come off as overconfident, impatient and arrogant hence a disruptive and defiant threat.
This is so accurate. But not only do INTJs read ahead in class, sometimes we end up teaching the material from the back of the room because we understand it better than the teacher, and then the teacher rewards us with an automatic A in the class, no final exam necessary. 😂
I was quite bored in school, I was always drawing pictures, always completed my maths book in a day or two, and always questioned the teacher. On third grade I asked why we weren't studying anything interesting like electromagnetics I had just learned about in a science book.
Jung said in an interview all Intuitive types learn to keep most of what they know to themselves because people would think they are crazy. I don't think Intuition means primarily being imaginative and focused on abstract concepts. According to Jung, Intuitives do not perceive through the senses, but through the Unconscious. He said that they will miss a pile of dung at their feet, but will smell a rat 10 miles away. He explained that they get flashes of insight from the Unconscious. So Intuitives have a facile connection to the Unconscious and the processing that goes on in the Unconscious. Thus, they often know things without any apparent evidence or logical cogitation. In reality they have taken in a great deal of data from their experience, have processed it deeply and largely Unconsciously, and the insights they get just seem to come out of nowhere although they are based on Unconscious processing. That is Intuition
Several people I know have called me nihlistic, due to not caring about certain things. This isn’t the truth. Its mainly just the fact that I see different things worth more, then the typical things.
Guys if you believe this you're not INTJs 😂, even though you can relate to some traits Myers Briggs is pseudoscience not much more accurate than horoscope.... personalites are much more complex
kind of contradicting. If you look deeper though you would notice that descriptions of intj fit very well with what's described as schizoid. While ENTJ fits well with narcissistic personality. ENTJ and INTJ have the same cognitive functions, but developed and ordered differently. Narcissism and schizoid is believed (well, researched) is formed by the same structures of the brain with the same problems - emotional deficit and disregulation. But they cope in quite different way with this problem. Something to think about. No, it's far from being just a horoscope. It makes much more sense.
I don't believe everything I hear ...on RUclips. The video states a bunch of *facts * but doesn't back it up with analysis. Wha6 makes INTJ rebels stand out from those of other types? NiTeFiSe? The interplay of cognitive functions would be some indicator.

Good points
Despite the existence of INTJ's, humanity always repeats the cycle of "improvement" and inevitable civilizational decay, proving its stupidity and worthlessness as a species.
Also, "love" is conditional and a mere neurochemical reaction.
"we need all you smart brains..." REDFLAG. ZOMBIE DETECTED
Because we can do better and we will.
And that is why I lost my job again.
I corrected my teacher once in a history lesson as well. Everyone got quiet, but he did take it to appreciation. I know more when it comes to the depth of history, or could generate a more pragmatic answer for the subject.

Conforming means to be controlled. I like my freedom.

I think you can probably guess what kind of person the wolf is.
Then you have the sheepdog. Sheep hate them because they're a constant reminder that wolves exist. Because they have some of the wolf in them. Monsters they are, but they are controlled monsters.

6 months later : 11. Because frick YOU, that's why.
I bumped into a woman, I had as teacher 50 years ago. I didn't remember her but she remembered me because I was the one correcting her in class.
Great work magnificent illustration 👃👃👃
Lots of valid points.
@mindscopechannel Well I've since found that I'm more likely an INTP so I'm not sure how well the above applies now.
@@tval3183 Everything still applies, but INTJ's definitely question authority, and even buck it when it becomes oppressive.

I am very INTJ
Wrong.
Approved!
Me as a kid: why?
My mom: because I said so 😂😂😂😂😂
As someone who has repeatedly tested as INTJ, personal freedom of action and initiative are the sine qua non of this whole thing we call life...the collective and conformity, not so much.

This is way too accurate 😭
I’m showing this video to my boss
I would do exactly the same
This is why religions like Christianity negatively affect the world, or atleast one of the many reasons.
This literally mirror's my character. I solved many ' unsolvable ' problems in the Health care field because I was given complete autonomy. No one to wreck my ideas or approach.

This is so accurate. But not only do INTJs read ahead in class, sometimes we end up teaching the material from the back of the room because we understand it better than the teacher, and then the teacher rewards us with an automatic A in the class, no final exam necessary. 😂
