He probably received his police training from that movie, or some like it. He wants to be Billie bad ass with a badge. With any luck, he will become gapping ass in prison!
Back in 1996-98, I worked at automotive engineering company on Stevenson just south of 12 Mile Rd., but lived in Warren east of Van Dyke. My work shift started at 3:00 PM, and could either be a ten or eleven hour shift. So I would leave work to go home many times after midnight. Almost every time as soon as I cross into Warren, I would be tailed by a cop. Most of the time the cop would follow me to my apartment. Half the time the cops, as there was always a minimum of three cops present, would confront me as I'm leaving my car, and would have to question me as to why I'm out driving around. The final straw, was when three Warren cops followed me all the way to my apartment, and I was caring my lunch tote, and a copy of a musicians magazine called BASS PLAYER, the senior cop asked me in a rather denigrating tone, and I quote, "What the f**k is Bass Player ?" as the cop pronounced the magazine as Bass like the fish, which made me laugh at his ignorance as the magazine had a bass guitar on the cover. This sociopathic cop held me up for almost an hour, just to make sure I didn't have any warrants. Which I did not, as I'm not a miscreant. That was the final straw. So the next day I went to the mayors office, where I spoke to the deputy mayor, as the current mayor was at that time in hiding because he was charged with criminal assault on a minor at a little league softball game. So that was already plastered all over the TV news from the local and major newspapers. That is when I informed the deputy mayor that I will be bringing a public lawsuit against the city and the police department for continual harassment by the Warren police department simply because I return home from work many of time after midnight. I wrote down on a piece of paper the brand, model, color, and the license plate number of my car, and told her that she needs to call the chief of police and tell him to leave me alone, or I will sue the city, and the police department, and make it very public. Apparently complaining to City Hall in person does make a difference, because the cops never followed me home, or bothered me after that.
So if your chief, mayor or city manager keeps hiring these type of police and victims sue, it’s as much as their fault as the cop and should be punished also. Prosecutors have to be held accountable and loose their ability to practice law and jail for blatant misconduct. No more resignation for avoiding charges.
What makes me laugh is they always get the black coppers, when it's a white officer they get away with it but the black officers always get made an example of
Notice as soon as they find black police officers, all the journalism and investigation is extensive....and they want to hold them accountable.....BUT....talking about police misconduct....and hiring officers that is known for this.....we can have a Netflix series, the outrage is SELECTIVE....these white officers go unnotice or get cleared 🤔
Qualified immunity should be considered conspiracy and both judges and the bad cops held responsible for the crimes they covered up/denied justice for.
As bad as officer Player's conduct was, that police chief Coney seems more like some dumbass off the street than a police chief. Who the hell hired that guy?
My sisters and my brothers this is what so unfortunate about black cops in positions of authority and positions of power, they do the same BS to Black people that races white cops do, and they walk away Scott free. And the taxpayers from city to city foot, the bill, while the cop continues to get a better position on another police department, and then when they do the same thing there as in this case he gets fired and it cost that $400,000, and the crime took place against the citizen didn’t even happen in their jurisdiction. So what does this say about these cops?, Black, white and any other race who breaks the law continuously and our allowed to go from the department to the department until they either kill someone and end of church with the felony with hundreds of thousands of dollars and then some cases millions of dollars and settlements and lawsuits, that the taxpayers always end up covering. And is never going to end as long as elected officials sit on the sidelines knowing the cops are doing this stuff and don’t change the loss on the local level, and as long as we the citizens don’t vote and don’t the men, that when these rogue cops break the law that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and they are fired from the police department. I’ve always said, and I stand on this, I support unions in every single way possible because I know for a fact, good unions are needed to assure quality wages, and safe environment for people to work in, but no union such as fraternal orders of police and police unions should have more power than the elected officials and we the people. It shouldn’t be so hard to get rid of bad cops and to make sure that they never work on another police department ever again when the behavior is egregious, illegal and causes taxpayers hundred and thousands of millions of dollars. Jeff Lewis, Detroit.
It’s like working at a bank, then taking all the money, then getting fired and for some reason not arrested, then going to another bank getting another job and doing it again
They were charged with misdemeanors, which means there’s a chance he could still be hired as a cop somewhere else. He’s committed perjury before, and we know he will lie again when applying and being interviewed for his next policing job.
This happens thousands of times across the United States every year. More often than not, officers jump from city to city and skate on serious criminal activities that are covered up by their bule line gang members.

A few good apples if that.
A FEW ??????????
If you have 1000 cops, it's fair to assume that at least 100 are shit human beings, right? If the remaining 900 don nothing about the misdeed of the bad 100, and often times help cover up those misdeeds, then what you really have is 1000 bad cops.
Use this anytime someone tries to hit you with the dumbass bad apples strawman. If they are not actively and publicly calling out this shit, they are not a good cop.
This is only one part of the problem. It won't stop. These departments will continue to cover up for bad cops. While these chiefs are being interviewed, they are still avoiding answering truthfully. There's no hope for these cops.
Wtf ,who let him in the fire department?
At no time was the officer in fear of his life even to use the taser in the FIRST time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hell with their damn policies.
It is against the law!!!!
Inappropriate? Policy violation? Misconduct? How about illegal?
The cop said I'll f*** your child crazy man the AG needs to look into what he said. Who knows he might be a pedo.
How about the citizens start _fighting back?_ How about that?
Cops are above the law
How is it possible that leadership/government officials that allows these officers like these to continue working and not be charged are never held responsible
Because cops are held to a lower standard than the average citizen. That's why cops get away with things that would get you or I arrested on the spot.
Government gets to raise taxes for settling lawsuits with taxpayer money. It's the snake eating its tail...
We the people are VOLUNTARILY funding this madness!!!
Instead of taking money from the city budget, that the money should be taken out of the offending police station budget!! That's how they learn!!!
The cop who was fired belongs on The BRADY List and not to be hired in any police department ever again and should face 20 years in a federal prison.
That's the way of the world today, DENY, DENY,DENY, even if you catch them red handed.
Remember, "less lethal" isnt "non lethal". These things do kill sometimes. They arent toys.
In California you better be ready to handle any medical conditions or emergencies arising from the use of a taser on another person. You are responsible for the person you have tased.
“Do you read your memos?” “Sometimes I do.” The fact that a police chief said that is unacceptable.
That mf is a joke 🤡 I bet he hides all kinds of sht.
Nah let’s back this up that cop said he’ll f a child that’s insane
And the sergeant is way to big
It probably hurts his head.
Also unacceptable disregarding policy + protocols,. Flips it off like hey man!
There are good officers I hope there are not few and far between.
I like how they are like "yeah he broke a policy" not that "yeah that was attempted murder"
When you sound like a high school dropout who spends all day standing on a corner you shouldn’t be a police chief.

A bully, bunch of cowards and so-called chief derelict of duty
Everything about highland park is a mess, One of the worst ghetto city councils ever, worst than Detroit
Whoa, whoa, whoa. That’s a horrible way to categorize Highland Park and Detroit city Council. I can’t speak for Highland Park, but I can’t speak for Detroit city Council. In the past, it has been a mess, but they have cleaned up their act. I reached out to my council member on several concerns and those concerns were addressed. I’ve contacted the city with issues and to my amazement. Those issues were addressed swiftly. Don’t judge the city of Detroit government and the city council on the past, especially if you haven’t dealt with them recently.
It's just what they do: the ghetto isn't the ghetto because they're formative folks, quite the opposite. When left to their own devices, you get places like Haiti, Liberia, Baltimore, Detroit...

FFS, you lazy racist.
@@ossoduro7794 what are you talking about? Please explain yourself.
How will cops ever learn if there are no consequences for their misconduct?
Dirty cops protecting other dirty cops. It's epidemic in America.
Screw you guurble!
Sad that they cover for bad behavior.
theyre freemasons. they cover each others crimes. they are the most corrupt people on earth.
This is "the day and age" we are living in. You can never be too careful around cops, you never know which cops are the bad ones and which cops are the ones who will do nothing about the bad cops.
THAT makes them all bad.
Who me? I'm just in charge. How in the hell would I have known about it?
It's NOT WHAT YOU KNOW BUT WHO YOU BLOW .
The size of that cop 😂
Incompetence, corruption, violence.
Criminals always defend each other, regardless of the position they occupy. A uniform or social position cannot change a person's character.
That cop is dirtier than Denzel in Training Day 😢
COPS DON'T BECOME PSYCHOPATHS PSYCHOPATHS BECOME COPS
He probably received his police training from that movie, or some like it. He wants to be Billie bad ass with a badge. With any luck, he will become gapping ass in prison!

How can he be a public safety officer if the supreme Court already ruled cops are not there for our safety,
Outlaw tazers! The cop can never know of a heart condition and certainly never use them on the elderly.
Cops need to be held accountable
Hope you moved out of that city.
I wonder if a FOIA request could get you the whole list of dates so you could post it.
you got lucky. usually they would come after you again and ACTUALLY harm you and throw you in jail on felony bullshlt charges
As if bass players don't have enough problems... lol.
So if your chief, mayor or city manager keeps hiring these type of police and victims sue, it’s as much as their fault as the cop and should be punished also. Prosecutors have to be held accountable and loose their ability to practice law and jail for blatant misconduct. No more resignation for avoiding charges.
What makes me laugh is they always get the black coppers, when it's a white officer they get away with it but the black officers always get made an example of
That's what is wrong with the police department. You back criminal activity & you do Nothing. That's why you are disliked
The audacity of the chief is infuriating.
We gotta take civil action dramatically
This cop needs to go to jail for 10 years with no parole !!
Cops cover for each other no matter the civil rights violations. It's not a few bad apples.
Player should be fired, decertified and charged with assault and excessive force. This is absolutely unacceptable!
About time they are being held accountable and the money comes out of their own pockets, instead of the citizens!
About time a news station starts covering criminal police do more research and you'll see hundreds a day
Notice as soon as they find black police officers, all the journalism and investigation is extensive....and they want to hold them accountable.....BUT....talking about police misconduct....and hiring officers that is known for this.....we can have a Netflix series, the outrage is SELECTIVE....these white officers go unnotice or get cleared 🤔
Tyrants should never be allowed to get another cop job after being fired!!!….Like this Buffalo soldier 🤬
“Not appropriate “ how about criminal?
Unbelievable, the fire/police chief needs to be charged as well for perverting justice.😢
Blue will always protect the blue unless they're backed into a corner.
criminals with badge and ego
He should have been fired after the first one. Now, he should be in prison.
Stop hiring people with no integrity
Typical behavior from them.
Terry Ford and the chief should all lose their jobs!
Thank you for your service against police
The chief cannot say it was wrong he is weakkk
Guaranteed he gets special treatment and walks
This happens thousands of times across the United States every year. More often than not, officers jump from city to city and skate on serious criminal activities that are covered up by their bule line gang members.
Pres Biden tried to remove Qualified Immunity three+ years ago but Police Unions pushed back against it and a Republican majority in congress voted it down.
Great reporting, Ross. Sounds like the new administration in Highland Park, Michigan is on the right track.
Highland Park Police department is full of shit
How many "bad apples" do we gotta hear about before everyone realizes the entire orchard is tainted?
Ever notice that when 'stuff' (Gov Misconducts) like this happens..it only makes Local News.?
