Yeah.. the automatons are something else completely. I like the autocannon against them, but prefer holding the backpack myself. Ac can kill fabricators from the front of you shoot in the vents on top, on like the border between the red light illumination. Hulks die from 2 shots to the eye, not an easy shot but doable. Devastators aim for the head, though a few shots anywhere is enough. Ems mortar is great for controlling fights as they keep them in place and prevent them from doing anything, otherwise I find most turrets just get shot down too easily. Eagle airstrike is great for bases as it kills fabricators. Otherwise, turrets and tanks take any big stratagem to the face or the weakspot in the back. One distracts, the other flanks. Hulks can be taken down that way too, but preferably just snipe their eye to not tie up 2 players for a 1 player job. Dropships can be taken down by heavier support weapons shots to the engine - eat, recoilless, quasar, and maybe 1 or 2 more, ac can't (afaik). Ac can however just shoot 3 or 4 shots into the open undercarriage and kill most of not all of the drop before they land. Walkers take 1 or 2 ac shots from any direction, depending where you hit. With all that, the ac is a great tool in a team and having one or two is always good as they deal incredibly well with the medium enemies that hit hard and are difficult to take down with lighter weapons, while wasteful to take down with heavier weapons. Having at least one player on your team dedicated to taking down dropships is generally a good idea too. Overall, you wanna stick together with most of your team to deal with enemy groups quickly. You can peel off to eagle airstrike a light outpost, but if you trigger a bot drop you're in trouble. Otherwise, onky engage what you have to engage with, anything you engage that ends up triggering a bot drop is gonna bog you down until dealt with. This means stealth is quite viable as well as you can get things done easier. Enemy numbers aren't too great, as long as you don't get a reinforcement loop. This is why it's so useful to have someone take care of dropships to at least thin the numbers. I like bringing the sickle as a primary to deal with the chaff as you won't have ammo problems and it's accurate enough to engage at comfortable distances. If they get close the fight becomes chaotic and you become a lot more vulnerable. I haven't played automatons I think beyond difficulty 5 or 6 since it becomes undoable quickly without a coordinated team (I almost exclusively just join on sos beacons), so there are definitely more experienced creek veterans who'll have better insights than me, but this is what I've learned so far. Sickle+automatic pistol+impact grenade, I bring light armor myself but no idea if that's optimal, for stratagems I bring the ac, eagle airstrike, ems mortar, and 500kg or orbital laser, though anything could work in the 4th slot. I can switch out the ac for a recoilless rifle if I want to be on dropship duty. For boosters, I like the one that increases time between encounters, vitality booster to not get slowed down by stray shots taking out limbs, and uav recon to decide which fights to pick.
Hmmm for a Vietnamese like me this looks kinda accurate given summer is coming and my ass is burning everyday (without the big bugs and killing robots ofcourse).
Yeah the main thing was you guys weren't really together. Splitting up was the real mistake as botdrops were basically going from two spots and you weren't able to eliminate them fast enough and more botdrops came thanks to that, thus you got overwhelmed.
based on your movement... I assume you are playing terminid for the first 35 level of your game XD Automaton needs medium or heavy armor that has armor raring at least 100, ideally 150. With light armor, you will be flying everytime there is an explosion. Shield is almost useless against automaton since a lot of stray bullets will hit the shield around your body. Autocanon is pretty useless since it needs precision, which is a luxury under heavy fire, and it cannot destroy the bot's reinforcement. I suggest EAT, Recoilless, or Quasar. Stratagem wise... Orbital railgun is really useful to destroy hulk, cannon turret, tank, anything that basically has armor, which is almost everytime in Extreme and everytime in Suicide. Eagle 500kg is really useful to destroy the "all seeing tower" or anything in general. Eagle Airstrike is really useful to destroy bases and mortar fast.
Shield is useless for automaton? That's literally what it is for, lmao. Autocannon is great if you don't want to carry a shield or have a buddy to load, which can get kinda hectic on higher difficulties though, but it's amazing for killing devastators due to having plenty of ammo unlike EAT or recoilless. Having one of these on the team is very useful.
@@ainumahtar almost useles... it is totally different to useless. But again... this game encourages people to play with your own style. Shield will surely negate 1KO from rocket so it has some usefullness to it.

Damm. The difference between this and yesterday’s stream performance is pretty insane.
The joys of trying to kill the cannon :)
