The bolt stops the arm from sliding all the way through the bracket. It should be slotted into the holder from the rear of the bike towards the front wheel and not kicked in from the front like Dr J so beautifully demonstrated😂. Use the strap provided. If you set it up correctly it should give enough slack to allow downward pressure from the rear seat area while simultaneously pulling up on the strap. Front wheel in the air.
