Double-check your model. The ThinkPad 11e (Type 20D9, 20DA), Yoga 11e (Type 20D9, 20DA) both take the 2.5" drive formats.

There are so many ThinkPad Yoga configurations out there. Some have non-upgradeable RAM and have 256gb MAX limitations on their SSD. I wonder which SKU you have in your video? Can you tell us please?

what would be interesting is seeing if a 12.5 inch or 13.3 inch screen could be fit into the chassis if you cut the bezel. Throwing in a fhd ips would make this machine go from being bad to at least a semi decent pretty web browser

I have a 5th gen with a soldered RAM so I cant just swap it out. I was trying to figure out how to use an ssd as an external RAM. I formatted it as an NTFS as the tutorial said and then in the properties menu of the ssd there was supposed to be a tab called "ReadyBoost" and I do not have that tab on my model. At the moment I feel like I've hit a brick wall, but if you have any ideas on how to make this ssd card work as RAM or use any external source (since mine is soldered in) I would appreciate it!

It would remove the OS since it's stored in a partition on the SSD. There are lots of tools you can use on windows or on Linux via wine to clone your drive to the new one.
Before you take out the existing drive, you need to make a Windows Recovery Drive--you'll find instructions online. Then you put in the new drive, and restore it from your recovery drive. When you make the Recovery Drive, tick the little box for including system files. You need to find instructions and read them a few times, but it's not difficult and I've done it several times. Probably the licence for Windows is linked to the serial number of the computer, but you might have to enter the licence key which will be stuck somewhere on the machine. Keep the old drive until you know the upgrade works.
For your data, you restore it from your backups. You do have backups? If you don't, make them before you pick up a screwdriver. Something can always go wrong, and if you have a backup (or two), it's a mild inconvenience. If you don't have a backup, sorry, your stuff is gone.
Be brave and be careful.
this is not related to the vid, but i have this model.. yoga 20E5.. and my touch pad stopped working.. i can still move the arrow but i cant click on anything.. this is just after for the first time i used the 360 option and folded it completely in half and used as a tablet.. i dont know if i pressed something or what..
does your laptop have a touch screen? Does the touchpad work when you fold it back into laptop mode? I believe when the laptop is in tablet mode the system will disable the keyboard and touchpad...

seems like everytime I find one, its got eMMC, is that in addition to the m.2 sata? Or are some m.2 sata and others eMMC?

you will be able to open and load more tabs in Chrome and not have them buffering to memory (I think that's what they call it) So, yes it would be faster.

No unfortunately not

All depends on the laptop manufacturer- depending on the model, you will find the ram limitation is either CPU or BIOS limited. Manufacturers usually default to the max a CPU can address, but sometimes lock down further to 1) cut costs and 2) entice buyers to upgrade.
Also depending on the exact model, the ram is soldered to the motherboard

No, however Lenovo did make many versions of the 11e, some of them cut down to Chromebook specs. Amazon sells the faster ones I think- amzn.to/2Ys1o4v

No, this is Windows- but you can install Chromium.

No it doesn't it only has support for SATA port ssd's
It has to be a sata m.2 ssd not nvme or PCI

@@noj_productions you can't game on an 11e lol. 8g is plenty for the games that 'can' run. Checking out intel's website will tell you the max memory supported. For the 11e the very best chip is locked to 8g so your ownly option would be modifying the bios or a custom bios, which involves using a chip programmer (such as a ch341a) and a flash utility such as flashrom to flash a new bios to the machine, and I doubt it would work although you could try it.
