    I bought a r33 gts back in November 2020 and it was no where near as good condition as he said and showed :/ there was rust in the boot, ac removed, spoiler removed which caused water too enter the boot and a heap of damage like the boot has been hit up and damage to the side skirts, the car runs and drives great and I think the engine was taken care of because haven’t had any problems with it yet but the body isn’t best condition,

    My GTR34 has done 66,000km and the whole interior is in excellent condition no words are worn out on the window switches, seats, dash, carpet, GTR floor mats, steering wheel, centre console, seat belts and all trims are like new. Engine bay also like new still in original condition. So that leaves me thinking that my 66,000km must be the original km's. So thanks for the tips and what to look out for.

      +Vin Diesel sounds like you have a great car. The key with all these is to match up the wear and tear. Only when something doesn’t make sense should you worry.

      Hi @@lmlimitedsteve6555 yeah no problem, as for wear and tear as I explained in my other comment, my GTR34 their is virtually no wear or tear not even any wear or creases on the side of the drivers seat as you would normally get from getting in and out of the car. And I have even thrown a slip on seat cover just to keep the seats in that new condition as everything else is. Greetings from Sydney Australia.

    • @lmlimitedsteve6555
      @lmlimitedsteve6555  3 года назад +1

      Vspecs had different tires, suspension stiffness and an active rear differential.
      These days all those items are likely to have been replaced. The diff in particular is quite troublesome if it breaks down or begins to fail.

    Reproduction strut tower sheet metal is available and the repair can be done with engine in place in some instances. So not the end of the world. Funny how the LM cops abuse. Yet that's a special car! 😄
    Your silver car looks lovely but I'd hesitate to say it only has 10,000kms. I think it may have a little more, although looks to be very good shape and low mileage. But my 260rs Stagea RB26 paint looks better and it has 100,000+ kms on it.
    I think the other thing to look for on these cars is bottom end knock. Saw a mint Stagea 260rs, but engine was knocking badly. So didn't go for it.
    These cars were quite cheap at 1 point, so we're not always looked after properly. I see a lot of junk selling for $50k+ now. Same with R32s.
    Series 3 R33s are the best though! Just look great with the red seats and xenons etc..
    The jacking points are a pain because the chassis rails are very soft. There is a couple of reinforced areas in the lower dog leg areas to use, but it's not obvious to average mechanic or tyre shop (those guys are the worst).. so like you say very common area for faults.
    The R33s get a lot of flak for being overweight and boat like, but R34s are over priced and R32s also IMHO. So R33s are the bargain and I kind of prefer their styling over the R32s. So there is always that.

    • @lmlimitedsteve6555
      @lmlimitedsteve6555  4 года назад +1

      +gav240z wow! What a reply. Thanks for your info. Where do you purchase the reproduction strut tower metal? Is it a Nissan product? I’ll have to look it up.
      And the silver car does have some issues with its paint. It spent almost ten years under a car cover and has damage where the cover rubbed on it. 😓
      I have lots of documentation on it though and it’s entire history so fingers crossed it’s legit.
      If you want to read the whole back story search for “The Stock GTR” on SAU. You’ll find heaps there! 😀

    • @gav240z
      @gav240z 4 года назад +1

      @@lmlimitedsteve6555 there is a couple of people offering reproduction sheet metal for the towers. I found a good RUclips video on it a while ago. You're correct though that there is a couple of sheet metal pieces that make up the strut tower and moisture gets trapped between and they rot from inside out. I believe the sheet metal is in the parts manual too. But maybe Nissan stopped pressing them out by now? Although R34s are the same pressing as is Stageas (4WD versions) so there would still be demand.
      I guess with your silver car if it was kept outdoors or not stored away it can make the car look higher mileage than it is. Being 25 years old now it's hard to keep a car in pristine condition even if mileage is low. Low mileage is good to find, but lack of use can bring it's own issues. I didn't use my FD Rx7 enough and I think that's why the coolant seal went in it. That or just age. So I try and drive my cars as often as possible as seals, bushings can dry rot otherwise.
