This is the type of information I love RUclips and the RUclips community for! Everyone else is still bleeding through the nipples.
This saved me so much time and effort. I just changed the slave on my 93 corrado. It has one giant reservoir for both brakes and clutch. I have a pressure bleeder with a cap that fits the reservoir. Took the cap and the hose and attached it to the hand vacuum pump you have their. Kept the vacuum gauge between -10 and -15psi, saw bubbles and watched the level go down.
I've never had better feeling brakes and clutch in this car and I've owned it since 2008!
A million times thank you for this trick!

You are Brilliant you "itchy old fart". All other methods "SUCK" as I worked on my old R30 Chevy Dump Truck via the slave bleeder for hours with 10% luck at bleeding, used your method with my MityVac Pump, that already had for my restored '58 TR3A for brakes etc.. and was done with your method in literally 10 seconds. I originally chuckled "whatever" when you said you can do it on the shoulder of the road, then when I used your method for 10 secs, I literally said out loud, "Holy Shit, I take my chuckle right back !!" 😮

@@Communism223 Didn't work for me. I actually went out the night I wrote the above comment and tried it (2a.m.). No bubbles. My problem didn't involve air in the master cylinder - instead, my clutch pedal needed adjustment (way out - I suspect my clutch is pretty worn). I had mistakenly assumed the reason I had to press the pedal clear down to the floor was due to air in the system.

Thank you for this video I was able to get my brand new clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder working in about 2 minutes.
I cut the end off of a gear oil, the little pointy fill spout that's on the end of a gear oil bottle and I used that tip to put inside vinyl tubing and stuck it down inside the little hole in the reservoir on the master cylinder.

I'm getting no bubbles but have a spongy clutch. I forced brake fluid into the top reservoir yesterday and gravity fed before that based on research. Are you only getting air out from here to the slave cylinder, peddle, correct? However I did have the bleed valve cracked open on the lowest point at clutch, gravityfeed and then forced more brake fluid through with a huge syringe and rubber stopper at fill cup. That should flush out air right? There are two sections to these systems. From top to peddle and from peddle down to clutch. If this actually worked I would have a strong pedal right now. But I still have mushy peddle. Sorry. I think I have air in the clutch peddle area cylinder.

@@itchyoldfart I tried it usinng 1/8 inch inside diameter clear plastic tubing and I was able to clearly see the fluid run up the tube but there were no bubbles. Turns out I had been pushing my brake pedal instead of the clutch pedal and my earlier work had paid off and the clutch was already working. Just had to push the right pedal! Regardless, I am going to try to bleed the brakes next and I am going to start the process by using your technique. The brake pedal goes right to the floor and the master cylinder reservoir is all but empty. It makes sense to me that the air would try to rise through the fluid and that if you can pull the fluid up instead of down it should release its air bubbles. Probably not all of them given the complexity of the brake system but maybe enough that I could get a little pedal happening. Thanks a bundle for your video.

I have seen other videos of people trying it through the top of the master like this, and the comments say that method does not work a lot of the time. Maybe you got lucky with your system… from what i can tell youre supposed to put a vacuum on the bleeder valve and add fluid to the master when necessary.
