@@LawVS It’s so unhealthy for his progress. I feel like this is really ruining his F2 performance too. He could just get used to it first instead. I think that this pressure of being „Next Verstappen” will always be too much for the rookies. the kid is super relaxed, very calm attitude ( which is important). I don't think he feels much pressure, and Toto loves him, and his father is long time great friends w/Toto. I think he handles pressure extremely well. For the F2, Prima's setup was the wrong direction w/the new car and was insanely aggressive, but without a performance gain. Kimi told me they tested quite a bit and have totally re-made the setup. I would look for a more normal races from Bearman and Kimi going forward.
@@ToroAzurro Maybe it will, maybe it won't. But even still it's not the best idea to put so much pressure on young talent. After all the best talents grow naturally, and everything about this feels artificial. I am wishing for him to become a huge talent. That's why I'm worried about where this is going.
I’m really rooting for Logan. I know what it’s like to be looked down on like he is and I want him to prove he can do well. He just needs the chance to actually do well and not get punted on track or shafted by his team.
Ya unlike other rookies he has had a miserable run of luck. I don't think anyone has seen Logan's best yet. He hasn't had a run of trouble free race weekends.
I don't Logan to go away :( he has improved so much this year and is now close to Albon's performances. His second year is a good year. The third will be great if he is allowed to stay.
The car they gave Logan is so hard to control that experienced Alex Albon crashed it for 2.5 million in damages last season, Logan crashed it for 4mil, as a rookie who was brought in way too early... This season, he has basically no upgrades, literally got his chassis given to albon for a race after albon's crash, and then got punted in miami. Pace wise compared to albon he is down a few tenths despite lack of upgrades since Williams can only afford to do one, and has crashed less this season despite that. Also his p10 Miami sprint was williams' best placement this entire year... How is that failing to prove himself compared to Albon?
The fact no one’s been talking about Logan’s sprint race or how close his pace is to Alex feels very deliberate. And I think he deserves better from everyone.
He honestly should've had another season in F2 to develop instead of being rushed into F1 to replace Latifi. Even though he finished 4th in his only F2 season, I think doing another one to fight for the title would've been better for him
@@smokeybandit9760 and they'll be mak8ng a big mistake if they promote Antonelli to F1 mid season. He hasn't even had thr best F2 season so far, and has already skipped F3. Promoting him to F1 all this considered would be a disaster. He needs to do at least one full season in F2 before being considered for F1.
For those of you who don't watch WEC, Mick is one of Alpine's fastest drivers, and for a rookie Mick is arguably very competent considering WEC races are full of traffic and the track is not as clean and smooth as F1.
Good for him. Still doesn’t mean he’s F1 material. There is a plethora of drivers in WEC and FE who do as well as Mick, and they’re NOT considered for an F1 seat. But they haven’t got the ‘Schumacher’ last name. Even his uncle Ralf was better than Mick is now.
Also, Nyc de Vries is driving in Formula E and the FIA's World Endurance Championship (WEC). He is one of the most talented drivers in adapting to different disciples, excellent team player and gives great feedback for setup and development.
I dó watch WEC. And I saw Nyck de Vries and teammates Conway and Kobayashi win the 6 hours of Imola in a magnificent race. Yet F1 had not worked out at all for him. I says nothing. It might even be the reason we see so little WEC winners transferring to F1.
The thing is there seems to be this panic on to get Antonelli into F1 before his superlicence points expire, without considering the fact that if he ends the season without enough points to get him a superlicence it might just be because he's not ready and needs more time.
Kimi's dad just gave me my first seat in GT3 this weekend & I'm fortunate to have the family's support. (super nice family) - Kimi, like most drivers, says the F1 cars are easier to drive then F2 for the most part, b/c they aren't as evil, But he is working on how much you can attack corner entries as an area of focus. The absolute biggest issue for him atm is his neck though, you can't train for these cars, and he is aware that Silverstone will be a nightmare for this weakness. he said Mick will be there for reference, which I'm sure he'll show well on pure pace, but I think Kimi couldn't be expected to give his best performance in the car, until his neck has acclimated to the car. My read on it from him, was the test was almost purely for his benefit, and they just want to give him more kilometers for now. Outside of fitness, he'll do extremely well I think. I'm very relieved to find him as a super super humble/nice guy. Wishing the best for him.
There is a reason Oscar is having more success than Logan; Oscar is driving a McLaren and Logan has been in a Williams. Logan has talent we just haven't had the opportunity to see it. Would hate this move for Kimi, there will there be real growing pains in a Williams. The deck has been so stacked against him (Logan) since the year started. Not once was it mentioned how good a weekend Logan had.
Nobody talking about Vesti despite getting 2nd place in F2 2023. Even getting unluckily crashed into in some of the last races potentially taking away a chance at 1st place
I really want to see Mick at Mercedes. Given the current situation at merc, there wouldnt be an extreme pressure to deliver top results which would hopefully allow him to develop as an f1 driver. although Haas made the right call with hiring Hulkenberg, by the second half of 22, mick was pretty much clearing magnussen in what was essentially his debut season. i think its clear he still has a lot more to show.
I’ve always said people forget how raw Yuki was in 2021 after only 1 year of F2 and took him 3 years to make up for that. Logan only got 1 year before getting thrown into F1. Especially since he was driving the old spec F2 car which share nothing with the current ground effect cars.
Kimi hasn’t shown anything substantial in F2 yet, that would merit an early move to F1. Apart from his age, he doesn’t seem ready as of right now. Moving him to F1 would be premature. Let’s give the lad some more time to grow.
vowles himself said kimi wouldn't replace logan for imola and the reason why they were doing the testing is because they are looking for best pair up for 25-26. so more time for logan i suppose...
I don’t think Logan can recover from his current “mood and sentiment”. Like you mentioned his radio message being hard on himself asking what he did wrong, do you remember his other message “I’m such an **** idiot!” (during quali I think)? And that’s what he’s comfortable saying on the radio! I hope he can recover after his time in f1, it’s seemed traumatizing for him.
I totally agree with you. I put his mood squarely on Williams. He was doing great until they took his car. Punishing a man for someone else's actions is never a good thing. I think it broke him. His radio calls break my heart.
There is absolutely 0 solid proof he would be a great number 2 driver. Both his seasons in F1 were exceptionally underwhelming. Plus the pressure of being in a Mercedes… he couldn’t handle that pressure in a Haas…
Well I mean, first season the car was crap, and in season 2 he only ended up 13 points behind his teammate. That’s much better than the gap from stroll to vettel and zhou to bottas
you conveniently talk abt giving Mick a second chance huh when Pourchaire, Lawson, Pietro, Drugovich, and many others, Vesti, the current F2 drivers like Bearman and Hadjar dont even get a first chance, i deeply disagree and dislike your view.
Sargeant has had a terrible situation with a worse car or no car at all but his best finish this year is still better than Albon's. He was also a real threat to score a point in Japan before the team botched his pitstop. I dont know if he has what it takes but he definitely isnt getting a fair shake here.
There are two different licences. The super licence and the Free Practice Only Super Licence. From media reportings, they are going for the full super licence. Which is odd, because the chance that an under 18 gets the FP only licence from FIA seems a lot higher to me.
Getting Kimi into Merc so soon is a very bold move, one that could pay off on the long run. However having him develop more in F2 or in Williams is a much more rational move.
F2 maybe, but the Williams? No. If he’s ready for an F1 drive don’t stick a potential prodigy in a back marker car put him in main team. I feel like doing that with George shaped his more “desperate” driving style that has cost him results a Mercedes and didn’t him more harm than good.
The way Logan has been treated has been rancid. He's not nearly as bad as people are saying. It's disgusting to watch people mock someone that's barely had a functioning car to drive this year.
I'm not sure Toto really wants Antonelli to be a Mercedes driver next year, just think about it, Toto always approaches professional drivers like Alonso, Sainz and Max when the opportunity arises. If Antonelli looks good then Toto won't bother doing this, I believe Toto wants Antonelli to move to Mercedes only when he is mature, at least 2 years in William's seat, that's why Sainz was reportedly only given a short contract by Mercedes and he turned it down. What Toto is looking for is a driver to fill in temporarily until Antonelli is ready for Mercedes, Toto has run out of options and only Mick is left. If Toto really wanted to wait until Antonelli matured then there would be no point in rushing to put Antonelli in mid-season. I firmly believe that if Logan is to be replaced mid-season then he will be replaced by Mick, Mick has not driven an F1 car for over a year and he will need to drive a Mercedes next year so it makes sense for Mick to replace Logan mid-season as a warm-up.
I mean there would a fun irony of the son of Michael Schumacher racing for the team that was Michael's big rival from 1994-97. (Side note: I just learned that Ralf Schumacher, Mick's uncle/manager was the third to last person to win in a Williams after Maldonado and Montoya, at France 2003, and now I feel sad, god Williams have been in the dregs for so long now, its feels hard to believe that a decade ago Williams seemed to be on the up finishing 3rd in the Constructors with Massa and Bottas)
I hate how fans and the team are treating Logan. Miami was not his fault at all, and yet even other F1 youtubers are saying "Miami was the last straw, ive given up on Logan" It just sucks how he's being tossed aside and being called the new Latifi or whatever, when he was in fact a rival to Piastri in F3
I feel like Williams this season has not been that good; and I honestly feel like there’s something very messed up about throwing a driver out in the middle of the season. I’m actually sad that Sargeant hasn’t been able to get too many chances to get things done. If Mercedes wants to fastrack Antonelli I think they’re better off promoting him directly over trying to do a helicopter drop in the middle of the season. Give Sargeant the rest of the season and see if he’s truly a keeper or a dud.
How do you judge faster? If Mick has consistent lap times that are faster, but Kimi has progressively better times indicating a better development curve considering he's not even 18. What would you do?!
@@MMAli-rq8kd no no no, Give both drivers morning session and evening session Mick morning cuz he has experience on less grippy surfaces and Kimi evening so he has a grippy surface, should make the laps similar
@@Ballen_F1Now that's just contaminating and diminishing the meaningfulness of any test between them by putting them up against two different conditions. If we can't see them compete in similar conditions, they shouldn't compete in the same race weekend. Maybe with your suggestion we can instead test them both on a variety of conditions, but you have to realize: when recent performance records are a metric that exists, the need for a single-event competition between two select drivers is just not financially worth it because even Merc/Williams aren't comparing just these two drivers, they compare the entire market, and if their decision-making constitutes a race between the candidates for a seat, then having a full-grid race every prospective team opening is just a plain stupid implication lol.
As an American, I'm very much put off by the fact that despite thousands of miles in Indycar and an ungodly number of laps at Indy, the FIA would make no exception for Colton Herta on the basis that he didn't fit the FIA's safety and experience standards, but everyone is bending over backwards for a kid barely scraping by in F2. Make it make sense. Nothing against the kid, and I'm sure he's talented, but to give him a dispensation but dismiss Colton Herta out of hand just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Precisely the point a whole lot of people seem to be missing. With him being competent there recently and given how much he’s impressed the Alpine engineers, giving Michael Schumacher’s son a second chance, to drive for a team with Mercedes engines would likely take some pressure off Vowles, Toto and Kimi.
I really do have a soft spot for Logan and hope he gets his act together, seeing as I was told by Jost Capito at Spa 22 that he would replace Latifi if he got enough super license points, months before he was announced at COTA
I really like you playing devils advocate here. So here goes why the best choices for Williams IF they drop Sargeant right away, are. 1) Mick Schumacher - Already has a super license - Has already driven an F1 car with the new aero regs for a whole season, the experience would provide valuable input, on a track where he’s just driven in the WEC - Imola - When Williams’ budget has already taken a hit this season, a German driver for a team running a Mercedes engine would have its advantages. - Good publicity for Toto for giving Mick a second chance and would draw attention away from Lewis’ departure, subpar car development and being hounded for who Lewis’ replacement would be - More time and less pressure on Kimi to test the car before completing a full season of F2.
If Williams want to become a competitive team, they probably should prefer Mick as they can tie him for a long time and focus on growing as a team. Kimi will only be there for a season or two and then he will go to Merc. It seems like a bad decision to put a transitional driver.
Plus, there's no way Mick can be worse than Logan. While Mick had his accidents, he really was quick and held his own against some drivers. All he needed was support in keep up with the car. A really really bad car that is.
@@shikharsingh2965i strongly agree mick could have scored points but he was often very very unlucky . In Canada his engine screwed him….. @@LawVS benchmark I reckon. Mick is somewhat known quantity. If Kimi isn't faster then he'll probably leave him in F2. But Mick isn't going to get the seat.
Perhaps. If Mercedes wanted to give a less pressured testing buddy for Antonelli, why not test with the other reserve driver of theirs, Frederik Vesti?
As much as I'd love to see Mick in that Williams, 1) I can’t honestly say I have faith that he'd be a major upgrading. 2) I think Logan deserves to keep his seat 3) If they NEED a replacement, Frederik Vesti is RIGHT THERE
Great Toto impersonation. Logan has been the Williams "whipping boy" since he's been in F1. Not good when you're driving a back marker car. Why have a rule when all you need to do is ask for an exception. I don't care who the driver is. IMHO having Antonelli jump over F3 & F2 is a very big mistake.
Who really really really wanted Colton Herta though? Loads of F2 drivers never getting a chance. I'm with you and I think k Nelly will be a bust, then Ferrari will take him on and hell have a Ferrari to blame.
If Kimi gets brought in to replace Logan they are just repeating the past and the guy already skipped f3 and is still getting used to f2 i just don't want to see another young driver's career be tainted before it even starts just because toto is still salty about losing max. give the young man time to develop. Also, great video as usual Law.
Why these teams keep putting rooks into these shitbox cars (HAAS, Williams, Alfa/KickSauber...) and then go "surprised pikachu* when they flop is beyond annoying. Experienced drivers are having issues with the Williams. The HAAS when they brought Mazespin and Schumacher in was basically undriveable. Zhou was dropped into a potato of an Alfa. Sargent Logan is doing *way* better than Albon I think, given the nonsense he's had to put up with.
He first says “If I was the team principal” and then goes on to say why Logan’s time is up, why it shouldn’t be Mick or Kimi. But no opinion on what can be done or who it can be, being the hypothetical team principal. That is why I prefer LawVS.
They need to let the reserve drivers drive in all sprint races it would tell you very quickly who is ready and who isnt ready. Points count towards constructors.... This would allow the f1 drivers to rest and be fresh for the main race.

I think we should let Kimi stay in F2 for his own sake. This sounds like a lot of pressure to put on someone so young. And god knows what people will say if he doesn’t perform as well as everyone would like
He's talking and all I can think of is an old UK advert- where there's blame, there's a claim! "I setup my ladders as usual, and began to podcast" Class Toto impression though
The problem in modern F1 is that almost all of the rest teams that are not the top teams, are the 2nd teams of the top teams. Visa...Toro Rosso - Red Bull Williams & ¿McLaren? - Mercedes Haas & Sauber - Ferrari In the past(before 2010) each team was his own, there was no "2nd team", except for ToroRosso-RedBull
Something is very wrong with Antonelli’s situation. It’s like someone is on the verge of snatching him from Mercedes if they don’t act really really quick.
I know it's arguably laughable to feel bad for athletes that make more in a week than we do in a year, but man Logan Sargeant getting way too much flak for just EXISTING in that seat. I've seen far too many calls agreeing for him to be sacked early in favor of Antonelli. Hell, many are looking back with hindsight and saying he shouldn't have even kept his seat through the half of last year. I feel we're unnecessarily being too harsh on rookies, forgetting the context in which they came and what they've achieved prior to F1 and simply going off a checklist of: "Are you a George, Max, Lando, Charles? No? Then get out of my sight, NEXT!" Like, for Pete's sake, give them a season or two to find their feet and show some potential. Yeah yeah, Sargeant didn't shown much brilliance last year but like Law kept reiterating, he came in half-baked, rushed in from a F2 campaign that was meant to last two years. That and he's driving in a Williams that is doing some soul searching, they are not in a position sadly to pull some heroics barring divine intervention or the Strollnado. "Yeah, but George was in the 2019 Williams and look where he is!" Yeah but Logan Sargeant isn't George Russell. No, I mean they are literally TWO DIFFERENT DRIVERS WITH DIFFERENT JUNIOR CAREERS. Sure, he hasn't shown us anything yet but misfortune's been aplenty for him and there is plenty of race left to run for him to show something. At least give him the rest of the season, all I ask. If he doesn't at least score a couple points, ok, resume your mock eagle screeches and chanting of the imperial system.
‘Deserves’? Really? Based on what? His last name? If he would have showed even the weakest of glimmer in his time at Haas, he would have been snapped up immediately. Plenty of teams who want a (good) Schumacher in their car!
Wolf can put Mick in the Mercedes and Antonelli in the Williams. If Antonelli is good he's prove it and if Mick is the car killer Hass says he is he'll be out. This is one of the few situations were he can have his red riding hood and eat her too - on account of him being a wolf and all.
Ok I haven’t watched the video yet but he looked good this weekend, I think he did good in the sprint, he probably would’ve made q2 if it wasn’t for tsunoda and then the race incident happened so I feel like he’s just not able to properly show progress
Kimi is for sure a massive talent, but please give him some time to develop. Yes he was impressive in F4, but it's only F4 and the few F2 races with a bad car he had so far don't bring him much either. Let him settle in F2 first before moving him to another, even faster car than his F4 regional. Like he just trained a full winter to muscle up from F4 to F2 and you expect him to train up for F1 in a week or so? Not gonna work. Next year maybe at its earliest.
I don't think Kimi is ready for F1 yet. He skipped F3, done a few races in F2 with so-so results, and he won't be old enough to race in F1 in Imola. I just don't understand the big rush to get this kid into F1 - let him get some experience in F2 and see how he does. As far a Mick goes - he had his shot at F1, let someone else have a chance.
Sargeant is almost as good as Albon right now. Also Vesti deserved the 2023 F2 title over Pourchaire, which is especially impressive considering he had a year less F2 experience than Pourchaire in 2023
Toto is trying to look like a genius and he’s gonna use Kimi to do it. Fact is Toto isn’t use to losing, he came into Mercedes dominance and now that isn’t the case.
Well done with the consistency of your uploads and an incredible insightful video ladder man 💪. Off-topic I wanna know your opinion about the Kendrick & drake beef? lol
2) Nyck de Vries - Again, like Mick, he already has a super license and experience in an F1 car with the new aero regs - Yuki made it very clear how valuable Nyck’s input was to develop the AT early in the season - A second chance at the team he scored points for on debut is wholly justified and he’s got Toto’s backing, like Mick. Good PR for Toto, James and F1 in general - Like I said earlier, would give more time for Kimi to get through a whole season of F2 having skipped F3 entirely.
While Red Bull and VBARB are 'sister' teams with their own identity - they pull from the same Red Bull Junior programs. If I recall correctly, Sainz was such a driver. My issue is that when Sainz went to McLaren and now Ferarri, he isn't connected to Horner in the same way any Mercedes driver is to Wolf. When Russell joined Williams, we always knew that he would be going to Mercedes. Point is that Mercedes has too much influence and Williams are a push-over. Red Bull did it well with having VCARB as the team where new drivers gain experience. Williams is not a trainee team. They are a team with pedigree and history. I doubt that when Ferarri becomes a backmarker team, they would allow themselves to be treated like this. It's not good for the sport to have teams with such low selfrespect. Teams that can be bought out of their principles. Obviously, the Junior programs have a lot of drivers and every manager wants to place their drive in an F1 seat. While Mercedes buys their seat - Red Bull gives their driver critical roles (simulation testing) or "sends" them to other series for experience, Super Formula or even the GT3's. Toto Wolf has too much power.
I think that dropping logan rn is kinda harsh. Although i do think he will be out at some point, probably next year, i think that williams are better off letting him see out the rest of the season
I mean, yeah, it's likely that Mercedes sort of requested it, but it's not like Williams don't have reason enough to ditch Seargeant. I could imagine that the prospect of ditching an underperforming driver for one, who is believed to potentially be "the next big thing" is pretty appealing on its own.
If anything Williams need a hulkenberg or a bottas, a safe pair of hands during the rebuilding phase of the team. Antonelli hype is crazy he isn't even doing that good in F2. Also there are several F2 champions that should be in front of Antonelli as a option to replace Sargeant but yeah....let Logan finish the year.
Wovels confirmed that logan's not getting replaced at imola or the next italian race after that. Also mercedes want superlicense for kimi to put him im fp for f1 not the seat
How much better would Mick have to be better than Kimi to get the seat? Toto's hail mary is getting Max Verstappen, kind of feel sad for George since it's 100% obvious that Toto wants Max and Kimi as his drivers.
Toto just needs to admit Mercedes have been imploding to the point they're relying on a 17 year old... Logan has clearly been getting better but Williams are not a team financially solvent enough to give him the space to do this without pressure.

He's proven to be just an alright driver. He's good but not F1 good.
He isn’t good enough.
Nothing should be rushed with the Williams except making the car better.
For those of you who don't watch WEC, Mick is one of Alpine's fastest drivers, and for a rookie Mick is arguably very competent considering WEC races are full of traffic and the track is not as clean and smooth as F1.
What do you mean the tracks are not smooth or clean? Besides Le Mans all the tracks in WEC are also present in F1.
This is the outstanding additional context I come to the comments section for! ❤
Logan DESERVES to get the end of 2024 at least. So far he has barely put a crash wrong this season.
Kimi's dad just gave me my first seat in GT3 this weekend & I'm fortunate to have the family's support. (super nice family)
- Kimi, like most drivers, says the F1 cars are easier to drive then F2 for the most part, b/c they aren't as evil, But he is working on how much you can attack corner entries as an area of focus.
Also, Oscar had a year of testing previous f1 cars while Logan didn't and had very few days to adjust to the car
Nobody talking about Vesti despite getting 2nd place in F2 2023. Even getting unluckily crashed into in some of the last races potentially taking away a chance at 1st place
Vesti isn't marketable or doesn't bring money. F2 isn't a pipeline to F1 anymore as we've seen, disheartening but true
He'd get destroyed by George.
I really love Logan but I can understand why people want him replaced, but NEVER should a driver be replaced mid season
Ya. Them giving his car to Albon was just gross. As an Albon fan that made me cringe.
Williams still has 2 junior drivers in F2 in the midfield vortex with Kimi.
They're not official reserve drivers though.
I really would love Mick at merc, he would be a great number 2 driver for George while Antonelli is in F2 or at Williams getting experience.
Mick isn't good enough for that seat bro
There is absolutely 0 solid proof he would be a great number 2 driver. Both his seasons in F1 were exceptionally underwhelming. Plus the pressure of being in a Mercedes… he couldn’t handle that pressure in a Haas…
@@AlexBarbuBro it was haas his fastet pit stop in his second season was 3.5 sec how do you expect him to bee good when the team screws you
Well I mean, first season the car was crap, and in season 2 he only ended up 13 points behind his teammate. That’s much better than the gap from stroll to vettel and zhou to bottas
@davidmaslenka5940😂😂😂 pitstops? Ffs.
Give Schumi a second chance but not a third one, if he doesn't deliver again. I want him to have one more opportunity to show he has it.
Mick just needs to tinkle with the setup to make the car bounce again so he can stand in as a replacement for LH when his back breaks
Why? Because of his second name?
you conveniently talk abt giving Mick a second chance huh
when Pourchaire, Lawson, Pietro, Drugovich, and many others, Vesti, the current F2 drivers like Bearman and Hadjar dont even get a first chance, i deeply disagree and dislike your view.
@@wizzyno1566 precisely.
@@wizzyno1566 yes
Sargeant has had a terrible situation with a worse car or no car at all but his best finish this year is still better than Albon's. He was also a real threat to score a point in Japan before the team botched his pitstop. I dont know if he has what it takes but he definitely isnt getting a fair shake here.
I wonder how Latifi is getting on with his business degree
Wait for it ... until he becomes RUclips business guru maybe 😂
Nyck de Vries studies too he is a current student at Harvard.

@@y_fam_goeglyd a degree in sport business management.
He's 107th out of 100 students.
I really like Fp1 Wills take. This might just be for a practice session. Logan Sargeant was very close to Albon this season so far.
But in all seriousness. We need to give these rookies more time. They get put under fire from the media and it totally screws everything up.
I think logan can still prove himself. Kimi is not ready. Mick coming back is great and all, but I think he just needs to lock in.
That Toto impression was on point😂😂
The way Logan has been treated has been rancid. He's not nearly as bad as people are saying. It's disgusting to watch people mock someone that's barely had a functioning car to drive this year.
Yes! I totally agree with your statement. I feel so bad for him.
I'd be surprised if Kimi was in the Williams for Imola, I remember James expressly saying that's not going to happen in Miami.
He wasn’t in the car for imola, and he wasn’t in the car for Monaco either!😂
I would love to see Mick back in F1.
Can you even count his first season at Haas? He had his brighter moments in 2022 and then got dumped.
Here is my perfect scenario
Private test
Kimi vs Mick
Faster goes into 2025 Merc Squad
Slower goes into 2025 Williams Squad
How do you judge faster?
If Mick has consistent lap times that are faster, but Kimi has progressively better times indicating a better development curve considering he's not even 18.
What would you do?!
@@MMAli-rq8kd no no no,
Give both drivers morning session and evening session
Mick morning cuz he has experience on less grippy surfaces and Kimi evening so he has a grippy surface, should make the laps similar
@@Ballen_F1Now that's just contaminating and diminishing the meaningfulness of any test between them by putting them up against two different conditions. If we can't see them compete in similar conditions, they shouldn't compete in the same race weekend. Maybe with your suggestion we can instead test them both on a variety of conditions, but you have to realize: when
recent performance records are a metric that exists, the need for a single-event competition between two select drivers is just not financially worth it because even Merc/Williams aren't comparing just these two drivers, they compare the entire market, and if their decision-making constitutes a race between the candidates for a seat, then having a full-grid race every prospective team opening is just a plain stupid implication lol.
@@jinsory5582 mick has experience ln track with low grip in F1 Car, Kimi doesnt
As an American, I'm very much put off by the fact that despite thousands of miles in Indycar and an ungodly number of laps at Indy, the FIA would make no exception for Colton Herta on the basis that he didn't fit the FIA's safety and experience standards, but everyone is bending over backwards for a kid barely scraping by in F2. Make it make sense. Nothing against the kid, and I'm sure he's talented, but to give him a dispensation but dismiss Colton Herta out of hand just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Mick was the quickest at Imola out of all the alpine driver...just saying
Precisely the point a whole lot of people seem to be missing. With him being competent there recently and given how much he’s impressed the Alpine engineers, giving Michael Schumacher’s son a second chance, to drive for a team with Mercedes engines would likely take some pressure off Vowles, Toto and Kimi.
Great for him, too bad about his F1 performance though
6 tenths a lap faster on average, like, WILD
@@walover165 just proving it was haas not mick that was the problem
@@CamPerry93 Yes, absolutely. I will always maintain that with a different team Mick would have done just fine.
Logan has been hated on since day one sadly
I really do have a soft spot for Logan and hope he gets his act together, seeing as I was told by Jost Capito at Spa 22 that he would replace Latifi if he got enough super license points, months before he was announced at COTA
I really like you playing devils advocate here. So here goes why the best choices for Williams IF they drop Sargeant right away, are.
1) Mick Schumacher
- Already has a super license
- Has already driven an F1 car with the new aero regs for a whole season, the experience would provide valuable input, on a track where he’s just driven in the WEC - Imola
- When Williams’ budget has already taken a hit this season, a German driver for a team running a Mercedes engine would have its advantages.
- Good publicity for Toto for giving Mick a second chance and would draw attention away from Lewis’ departure, subpar car development and being hounded for who Lewis’ replacement would be
- More time and less pressure on Kimi to test the car before completing a full season of F2.
Perhaps. If Mercedes wanted to give a less pressured testing buddy for Antonelli, why not test with the other reserve driver of theirs, Frederik Vesti?
mick is way better than logan so...
I think it's a mistake to not include Sergeant as a contender for his own seat in the thumbnail.
Logan has imrpoved this year. James choice to give him anither year was right
As much as I'd love to see Mick in that Williams,
1) I can’t honestly say I have faith that he'd be a major upgrading.
2) I think Logan deserves to keep his seat
3) If they NEED a replacement, Frederik Vesti is RIGHT THERE
Nah Logan doesn’t last year they had a great car and he still only scored 1 point
More than agree with you regarding Mick!
I would like see if Vesti could get a chance. He is really fast!
if Williams bring in Antonelli, I will stop supporting them. Such an underhand thing to do to Logan.
It's simply too soon for Antonelli. He is P9 in F2.
My god, man. You'll have 100k subs by june at the rate you're going!
I feel like the biggest reason Logan got bumped up to F1 is that Liberty Media really needs an American driver in F1 and he's the only one available.
Gotta love the double standards with Antonelli potentially getting entry into F1 early but Colton Herta never got his chance 🫠
Maybe the special dispensation is for an FP1 session if they agree that Kimi needs more time to develop in F2.
Exactly! Look at the Lewis, "the goat", he's not having a very good time in his car this year is he.
I enjoy your videos from here is Freeland Pennsylvania USA. Keep up the good work.
Tommo has a video titled "It's time for Williams to drop Logan Sergeant "
That's harch !

Don't do that, don't give me hope to see Schumacher in the Mercedes Cockpit.
The problem in modern F1 is that almost all of the rest teams that are not the top teams, are the 2nd teams of the top teams.
Visa...Toro Rosso - Red Bull
Williams & ¿McLaren? - Mercedes
Haas & Sauber - Ferrari
In the past(before 2010) each team was his own, there was no "2nd team", except for ToroRosso-RedBull
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁👍
Mick deserves a second chance in a proper F1 car, at least for 1 full season if its doesn’t work out kick him
‘Deserves’?
Ehh. I've just looked at F2 standings. Antonelli is 9th. I dunno, but to me it seems to early to be rushing him to F1.
Agreed.
Hello again, Im gonna become lore on lawvs if I keep getting here this early

2) Nyck de Vries
- Again, like Mick, he already has a super license and experience in an F1 car with the new aero regs
- Yuki made it very clear how valuable Nyck’s input was to develop the AT early in the season
- A second chance at the team he scored points for on debut is wholly justified and he’s got Toto’s backing, like Mick. Good PR for Toto, James and F1 in general
- Like I said earlier, would give more time for Kimi to get through a whole season of F2 having skipped F3 entirely.
Toto impersonation…. bang on! brilliant. You could be reserve for Toto. 😂
Kimi isn’t even 18 and won’t be until August.
Just wondering, what aboudt Vesti.
Great f2 season and he is sharing Micks rolle
That's what I was thinking. Why not test Kimi against Frederik?
@@LawVS Frederik is probably so underated.
That's what I hope.
Logan to Andretti
I would be so hyped
I think he said “did I do something wrong?” Not “ what did I do wrong” in the radio message
I feel for Sargeant , considering everything that's happened , he's doing well this year . Wonder if Haas might want him
