Cath and Mick, Christmas in Benidorm, Day 1 part 2

This video is a short one as we visit the town hall to see the Christmas decorations, Ice rink, nativity scenes and the kids rides.
Our next video will show street and beach fun as we celebrate the coming of the New Year on New Years Eve in Benidorm, Spain.
We still have a video to upload from the day after this current video, where we try to show the bits in Benidorm that nobody seems to film, so watch out for that one.

We are Mick and Cath, currently working as campsite wardens in Ripon North Yorkshire, UK, but with retirement fast approaching we are planning a move to our home in Spain.
In the meantime we plan to use our 2009 Belgian built Maesss motorhome, based on a Fiat Ducato to make trips out from our base in Spain with a trip in 2025 which we hope will span a few months in Spring and summer.
The RUclips channel was set up to help us keep and share the memories with anyone who is interested, so, if you are interested in this kind of content and may be planning a similar retirement and need to know our costs, we will be sharing our expenses and experiences as we continue our journey.
Our journey really began when we moved to Canada in 2008 for Mick to become a long haul truck driver, where we lived in our truck and spent an adventurous time delivering oversized loads all over Canada and the USA.
We also ran a Blog during that time but didn't have a Vlog due to lack of decent gear for recording in a big rig, although we do have lots of clips on Micks other RUclips channel... / @mickflynnimages and lots of pictures on mickflynnimages.com.
We then returned to England for a while and spent four summer seasons working in the Loire Valley on a beautiful campsite, before moving back to the UK and staying for six years working on a campsite near Henlow, Bedfordshire.
In 2021 we moved up to Yorkshire to be nearer our house which had been locked up for a few years except for short weekend visits, although, as we were provided with comfortable accomodation at our current site we decided to sell up, and so began our Spanish dream with the sale of our modest house in Bradford, which allowed us to buy the small apartment in Spain.
Our next big job (which we will be documenting) is to teach Cath how to ride a bike as she has never had one, but we feel that a couple of small folding electric bikes will allow us to get out and about more to explore wherever we are.

We think it will be pretty boring, unless we go for Spanish tapas. We were supposed to go for tapas today, but Cath has a cold or something so didn't fancy it.

Just watched your video and only letting you know incase you miss it, but its 5th for 3 Kings arriving, it will be packed down this end, floats, music, sweets etc then on 6th most will spend in doors with their families😉 Hope this helps x

Thanks for commenting Rose, we are back down south now but have been in Benidorm many times for the three Kings. Its an amazing event isn't it? Flocks of geese and thousands of people watching.
It's a shame we can't be there.
I will be putting a new year's eve video on soon, it was brilliant, with every age group dancing in the streets etc.

@@ourturnnow Yes must admit we do an amazing xmas eve and new yrs eve party now, its got much busier since it first started down at beach front, just wish they decorated beach and rincon area as much as they do in old town, because now its that busy it needs spreading out more to take the crowds. ☺x
