Looking good man. If you box in that rear frame don't forget about that spare tire hump on the rear passenger. That thang sits pretty close to the frame. Can't remember if yours is gone or not.
Man homie I look at my boy Cutty and the driver side the tank is SUPER close to the frame so that boxing ain't gone work less I center the tank like u talking abt doing .
Yeah I kind of gave up on that would have been a lot of extra work. The biggest part would be the tank. You would have to either completely re do the filler neck or cut the tank apart all together and remake it. Or I was looking at buying a different tank for like a chevelle or something like that and making it work. I couldn't find dimensions on any of those gas tanks though.
Yea I'm starting on a 84 cutlass I'm not doin the frame off but truck bed coating would work good as far as under coat and then just spray it black it sticks to metal better than paint will
That is the end of that frame.you removed too much from the rear-end. . I hope you reinforce that section and put the chassis in a frame jig to straighten the rear of the chassis out.
MR_getinthere yeah I stay on you ass bout this pic got all that work going and ain't sharing no damn pics MR.super sport is a good dude we always shooting the shits
Family if you gonna epoxy the chasis first just go ahead and buy you sum black paint. Cause i know masterseries is a 2 step process. The primer and top coat. The primer is silver it works as a sealer. The top coat is that gloss black. So i dont know how the black topcoat gonna adhear to your expoxy. Its the shit but if you gonna go masterseries use they system and if you go with regular paint thats cool too. And wire wheel is cool but sumtimes it make the shit to slick for shit to adhere properly. only realy suppose to use them to knock of rust. But u got surface rust that aint shit so use a sander with sum 40 grit on it. Its gonna eat that surface rust right off and make that expoxy stick like flys on shit. Also you can use them flap disc. They like rough sandpaper stuck on a grinding dics. thats gonna work a1 and fast to and also promote adhesion. If you do use them wirewheel u gonna have to go back over it wit sandpaper. Sandpaper is the key when getting that good adhesion u need. Looking good
Thanks bro I was reading the master series can be use buy it's self to tho but with the sealer "25 year" hold up u never use it just the paint before u I'm past some sand paper over it I think that's what happen the last time the dam frame was to slick for the chasis saver paint to bit to we gone get it right this go around thanks for the help
MR_getinthere looks good dont think primer has 5-7 day window think more like 24 hours top before has to be re scuffed again depending on brand using i just use any epoxy primer or etch primer then shoot jet black over that then clearcoat for protection and be done with it and 80 grit with da sander then 180 grit with da be best option for primer but being frame i go just 80 grit for good bite with da sander though if can angle grinder spins too fast for good adhesion/scratch marks for primer grab too and you should have no problem painting that master stuff you talkin bout over primer if thats what ya want but if do mix products like diffrent primer with paint i would let primer dry and then re scuff so the chemical bonding dont react weird from mixed products like greg said its best stick with same system from bare metal up but if not at least let dry before topcoated with different brands which is not recomended but gets done all time by the way nice job on piping that rear in
