- If you like quick revivals then this is it. Ive never had a vehicle come to life as quick as this one which is crazy. This jeep was sitting outside topless for 5 years in a guys back yard and it acted like it was only parked for a week lol. I hope you enjoy
In many states, finding a compression fitting on a brake line causes the vehicle to fail a safety state inspection.
You and your fellow RUclipsrs have inspired me to fix up a vehicle so I got a 1984 S 15 I have bent and replaced all the brake lines except for one
Hell of a deal for $500 you got a good car
$500 anything is a good deal! Great find.
I was taught many years ago that using a compression fitting on brake lines is a bad idea. In an emergency the pressure in the line can blow the fitting off. Flairing is the only way to go.
Then why do they sell compression fittings for brake lines?
It's an old mechanics tail to upsell things I've never had one blow off from the pressure. Even solid lines can fail so it's a weird theory.
Yet the whole brake system on semis it compression fittings lol
a rusty line will fail way before the compression fitting will.
I've used compression fitting fir years and never had one fail. Some mechanics hate them but it's my vehicle not theirs. I'm glad I subscribed to ur channel Ike
Just get a set of adapters they are about 1.5 spacers that will convert 5x4.5 to 5x5.
Dude, this is probably one of your best buys! There is no rust on that thing at all.
I did just this with a Miata that had been sitting for years, got it for 300.00 swapped in a fuel pump and it ran like it had only been parked for a weekend. Love that you saved this Jeep, hate that I didn't see it 1st for sale. Lol
The only off roading I do is trail riding on a dry day slow and easy no mud but a lot of rocks dirt and sand. Bringing a lunch and some friends to share the moment is what makes it more enjoyable. No need to high speed through mud and brake stuff.
Sounds great!
you got a heck of a buy on that Jeep. It looks straight and after the wash I hope the paint is great. looks like a nice Jeep.
There’s some people will jump you over a Compression fitting. I use them all the time started using them in the 90s I never had a problem some guy back in 1999 he told me that it would Break a part the first time I had to hit my brakes hard HE was so wrong if you have a problem with them, you’re not putting them on right.
I love that Jeep
Compression fittings on brakes lines is a type of gambling we should all take. And the moment I saw JK wheels I’m like he’s gonna learn today.
I'll double flare thanks.
I'm not stupid.
I've never had a problem with a compression fitting. I live in northern Ontario or break lines are constantly rotten here. Even if it did leak again that's why there's a front and back in your master cylinder.
That like a shark bite on pvc for brake lines?
@@bigjay6743 You should just use air shock lines as they can't rust..
@@skipads8784 those can only last how long they last, and its can brake just when you are in going to crash or need a brakes, so do it like all we rest do buy a line and swap it in right spots.
Hi Issac. I especially enjoy when we can watch your repairs at normal speed your an experienced mechanic with lots of knowledge to share. And your so right about heavy keys on the ignition cylinder especially on column locking ignitions. Good tip hope people listened

Please revisit this and put flared fittings on when you get more time maybe you can show us some good tips and tricks for getting a good flare working under a vehicle
Friday!! Best day of the week!! Have a good weekend Ike!!!!
Chevy cavalier seats will bolt up to the factory seat rails on the yj and the are pretty comfortable if your wondering
I've bought and sold over a thousand cars.... and what we used to call a deal like this jeep deal is a HOMERUN !!!!!!! Awesome job. ❤
This Old Man always enjoying your videos. Was really looking forward to seeing you tomorrow and it's been rescheduled 😢. Great looking Jeep 👍. 🛵🧔💝
This world will demand every second of your time if you make it available to them.
I hope you are taking some time out for Ike. We don't want to see you get burnt out.
Great video,
Thanks for sharing.
Excellent video Issac :) also would paint those lines fuel and brakes line with brand Rust Coat of silver or white or black keep from rust up to also put clear coat on after paint too! Also for Muffler put round one in too and look cool too! Also tires bought are same size and put them on jeep old tires on older rims too and new rims should get $400.00 for them lowest be $200.00 ! Also undercoat with Rust Seal save that vehicle rust out too!
I still think you got yourself a good deal. Some wax and buffing will do wonders for the paint.
Just came over from latest c&c video, Ike I’m so sorry about the flooding, wish you all the best.
Bro, I *did* tell you they wouldn’t fit! Could’ve saved ya the 38-mile drive down to NB and back. But still, with the price of tires these days, I think you got a killer deal for five wheels n tires. You shouldn’t have any trouble turning a little profit on those.
Hey, @Isaac it’ll be fine what’s that red Caprice Coupe that was in front of the shop? Yours, or someone else’s?
That’s pretty sweet, I almost never see those late-80’s Coupes anymore.
🎉 thanks 👍 for the video bro 🎉....JJ .. Jonjon....😊
Good thing your not in NYS, can't use compression fittings on brakes here
You need a flare line coupling, not a compression fitting. Very bad practice unless you are installing an icemaker.
Thank goodness you are swapping wheels!
Burnin' deal you got on that. She cleaned up real nice! Try wetsanding & buffing it out.. I bet it'll clean up even more. 😎
I love the jeep and it is smart to not doing any off reading. That jeep is a perfect old school beach jeep for sure
Thank you for the Mustang burnout. They never get old.
Couldn't agree more!
I bet a clay bar would really help out on that paint.
Heck of a find. Chech Derick of VGG he has a mixture for paint that helps keep the paint as is. I love this jeep.
Great video. I'm glad you posted keep them coming, thanks. Love the jeep
Great vid Ike!! Be safe and drive careless!! 😜 👊✌️❤️🤙
Cleaned up Real Nice!!!
Nice YJ. You need to keep those black rims. They complete the look.
I too have been running into the wrong lug pattern myself lately bud don't feel bad.
Hi Issac!
Subscriber from Western Washington State.
Fellow western WA, im from skagit county
Jeep cleaned up real good! Muffler and some detail work she be a great cruiser man!
Hey Isaac sorry I wasn't able to look at this yesterday but I'm looking at it now have a great day hope everything works out well for you within that jeep
Your best bet is to get an after market gas gauge and install it. The jeep gauges are notorious for being wrong or not working at all. I know alot of people who have done it including myself that just gave up on replacing the jeep guages and sending units.
That fitting worked good ill keep that in mind ive got an old 88 dakota that i tinker with to keep it on the road
If you get a chance wash under neath the jeep really good and after It dries paint it with some cheap rattle can paint it'll keep it from rotting as much.
That thing turned out real nice. You got a great deal on it. I'm hoping some day I can find a great deal on a pickup. Keep up the great work and I will see you in the next one.
Wheels look great leave well alone !!
You have the tools to fix it the right way!!! Why send a message to a younger viewer that cobbling shit like brakes is ok!! YOUR LIFE AND EVERY OTHER DRIVERS LIVES DEPEND ON YOU FIXING IT THE RIGHT WAY!!!!
Yeah, never understood why people do half-assed work like that. Totally unsafe. My dad always said that if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right. Words to live by………literally in this case…
Awesome looking jeep for$499. Sorry the wheels didn't work out. Jeep stuff, go figure.
Clean your shop bro. A clean shop is a happy shop 🔧🧽😃
great stuff thanks, 500 bucks that is a great score.
Nice work but I would never use a compression fitting just not for me to do I would have however re-flared both end of existing good brake line and just placed a union in between.
I would not mine owning a YJ jeep of those years. (a hard top is a better pick for me)
You got a sweet deal on with a little effort to get it back on the road.
Me personally I would have found the OEM Jeep/Wrangler wheels with the Jeep word stamped into the wheels
Great job Issac, for $499 and some love!
I use Black Magic Bleche-Wite Tire Cleaner, on my White truck and it does really good cleaning off all the crud
Love it brother
Tj wheels are 5x4.5 the newer rubicon wheels are 5x5 bolt pattern same thing happened to me
I would think the yj and tj are the same bolt pattern
Great video. I was hoping this week you're going to have a video out on the Jeep I couldn't wait. I hate those Jeep Wheels didn't work caused they would have look good .
That's one hell of a 500 dollar vehicle!!!!!!!!!!!
Love the Wrangler! I'm reviving one also. Trying to figure out why earlier comment was deleted when all I did was send link to type of wheel adapter that could be used.
I didn't delete it, but my comment section has strict selected
@@isaacitllbefine7231 I figured because it had an Amazon link in it, RUclips might of thought it was spam. Wanted to make sure your channel didn't get flagged or something
Oh my God now you got to wave at every jeep that you see and remember when you're parking you have to touch tires with other Jeeps😂
Good video ike. I like the change of pace with a jeep. Thats another great thing about your channel mate,,, Variety..! Can't wait to see you put the mustang and the tri 5 on the road and use them dude.. Maybe even do sick week in the mustang,,?? Keep up the great work fella. ✌️👍🇬🇧
Thanks 👍
@@isaacitllbefine7231 I forgot to mention the bikes.. Ha ha
How's the harley? And do you still have the V twin 670 chop man??
What ever you do,, it gets better and better. Good luck man. ✌️👍🇬🇧
Compression fitting on brakes is bad bad bad. It's actually not legal for a parts house to sell you a compression fitting if they know it's being used to repair a brake line
Sweet ride for the price. You were blessed
You got that right!
Watched your brother restore that bad-ass Mongoose...now Im gonna check out your Jeep....
It reminds me of my old '87 Comanche SporTruck!
Idk, I'd say those wheels look awesome! Love the powder coated black look. The factory Jeep wheels are fairly meh on white paint imho.
I’m so glad you got your own channel man
She cleaned up good, yeah a glasspack would sound bad assed
I love your mustang to. Thank you.
You have definitely gotten a few stinkers. but man, you have gotten some really good ones, too! I can never find deals like that lol and when I do, it seems like I NEVER have the money 💰
Damn, your Sheetz has non-ethanol fuel? Never seen it in Virginia.
Can't use compression fittings on brake lines in Michigan, can only be flare fittings.
Funny thing is they still sell those compression fittings here in Michigan and I found a whole Bunch on my truck when I fixed it
Nice video 📹 just got done doing a brake line with a compression fitting it the best poor man's friend 😀. BTW I remember the 65 mustang Nice 🔥 burnout 👍
Thanks for the like Ike
Danged old Jeep looks good and runs good too.
early wranglers were interesting. i too many keys but i never a problem. i watch junkyard digs he's alright.
Man that cleaned up good dude it is a nice jeep considering where you live . i love the mustang as well 2nd gear burnout lets go. i just bought a 1990 ford festiva for 400 bucks runs and drives and has cold ac with 1.3 auto trans and love working on it . just a fixer upper for the teen but fun to drive. great video as always ike love it keep it up.
You got a really sweet deal. I had to laugh at 14:20 that was cute. Wondering would those tires fit on a 2006 Jeep Liberty? Anyhow, stay safe in our tropical storm. It will be out of here by late tomorrow. Saturday.
At this point of your automotive repairs, why do you not use a "Vacu-pump" to bleed your fluid systems?
What a great buy..
Hey man! IF y'all. /W car's and cameras ". Put out a video on Sunday. I will call into work and say." I've took the wrong blue pill. Can't make it this way. And come see you guys 😜
Too buddy, show that sporty off !
Looking at that floor in those seats when you vacuumed it out and wonder why your eyes are full of crud
Hey Ike congratulations on having 300 videos
❤&✌🏻
Love it.. I had a feeling when I saw the wheels that the bolt pattern was wrong lol.. cant wait to see more videos on the jeep and what you end up doing with it. Yj bolt pattern is 5x4.5 think you bought 5x5
5x4.5 fits Ford Rangers too. Not sure about the new ones though.
Whys nobody ever come to me with these kinda deals? Damn.
I've used compression fittings for years! People say it's not safe but I've Never had any issues. The thing that's worse is the wiggling of the line as you cut it can cause more leak spots. Kudos for you on going the simple and least expensive way to go. 3 outa 5 stars, wouldn't change a thing.
It will be fine
It's not a bad looking Jeep for 500 bucks. The black and bland wheels sorta let it down. When you eventually find decent-looking wheels and fix the interior, just guessing, you wind up with 1500 in it, it will sell for more than that just by making it look better. I think you gotta pretty good deal in this. I can see the eventual profit if you decide to sell and if you don't spend too much. I think you gotta deal myself.
I knew it was different bolt pattern as soon as I seen them keep jk wheels
I think that you should leave the wheels that are on it it gives it a good look
Bolt pattern is 5 x 4 1/2
Maybe you could get some old semi-truck double decker car carrier trailers and park all your vehicles on the top of the trailer so they're above the flood waters next time
Dude for how much you paid I would drive the living you know what out of It. Nice !!!!
Good deal
I love that jeep it’s cool
Much better 👍👍
I was hollering at my phone brother!! Those look like stock JK wheels.... they're a bigger pattern.😢
Pretty good for cheap!
The infamous yj/tj/jk whoopsie!
Also you wanna double your money on that thing and the jk wheels?
New sub here. How about a time laps you cleaning the floor clutter? Thanks.
Thanks for the sub!
Jeep time baby!
