    But what questions should we ask from the person? also, if we are not sure which role we want at a specific industry, what should we say instead?

    • @clarkglassford9200
      @clarkglassford9200  9 месяцев назад

      Thank you for asking this as it is a great question. You will have to determine your own questions as this will be specific to your own knowledge and understanding of the person you are contacting and the company/industry they are in. However, your questions should focus on 3 key areas 1) the industry, 2) the company and 3) roles within the company that may align with your background and career goals. If you can build some questions that focus on these 3 areas you will make a great impression!

    Were the conversation in the example you used over text or phone call?

    • @clarkglassford9200
      @clarkglassford9200  6 месяцев назад +2

      I would use them in a DM (text) via LinkedIn. That is how most people on that platform communicate. Thank you for your comment!

      @@clarkglassford9200how can we text them before they connect with us? I thought you need LinkedIn premium for that.

    5 connections sent, no response by any of them yet - will send another 5 next week and update this comment if I get a response. Just seems to be more anecdotal evidence than proper stats. Worth a try though.

      Thanks for your comments and I will be interested to see what responses you get. There are a number of things at play right now may be affecting your success such as an applicant heavy job market, we are still in summer and people are away etc. It doesn't hurt to try and remember to make sure you personalize your request to connect and try and build an organic relationship. This will lead to stronger responses and better outcomes!
      Keep me posted!

      I wanted to provide you a link to a LinkedIn post I just read that perfectly outlines the approach to take. Have a read and try and implement some of this strategy: www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:7231716243760697345/

      I tried this and didn’t receive a single response. I sent emails to over 15 people. I even sent to the emails directly to the contacts work email. Nada. This job market blows and I’m losing hope

    I work in marketing. Let's say that I want to reach out to agency owners. What should I say?

    • @clarkglassford9200
      @clarkglassford9200  2 месяца назад

      Thank you for watching the video. Before reaching out you should do research on the organization and the person you want to contact (via LinkedIn). It is important that you have general knowledge on both as this will help craft an appropriate message that is personalized.
      To start you want to keep the introduction simple (sample below):
      Hi Ms. Smith ,
      My name is Kim Jones and I see that you’re are an agency owner for ABC Inc. I’m a senior Marketing Advisor interested in working in your industry. For the last year, I’ve been following your work, and it’s really impressed me. I particularly loved your campaign recent campaign you did in ABC. I found it very creative and really effective. If you ever have 20 or so minutes, I’d love to hear more about how you started working in the field and what skills you believe are most relevant to the profession.
      Thank you!
      Kim
      This is just a sample and you have to tailor it to every connection. The point is you can see how I have personalized the connection request based on the research you have done at the front end.
      I hope that helps! All the best in your job search.

    Honestly this barely works because it seems like you can’t message people without having the premium or they have it in their settings that way?

    • @clarkglassford9200
      @clarkglassford9200  5 месяцев назад +6

      Yes I hear your frustration however, there is a way it is just a bit hidden. Click on the persons profile and you will see under their main banner 3 options: 1) Follow, 2) Message and 3) More. Click on "More" and it will give you an option to connect. Once you select "connect" it will give you a further option to write a personalized message. 😉
      I'm not sure why LinkedIn has set it up this way. It may be to prevent users from spamming other users. However, you can make personal connections on Linkedin if you follow the above.
      I hope that helps.
