Can’t get enough of these geologic walking tours. Definitely my favorite type of video you make. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Great to know Murray! These exploration days are my favorite as well. Cheers🙌
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Totally agree with Murray, these walks and talks are fascinating mate 👍
All the best from south east England!
I was raised in Colorado, and then my dad moved us to Texas. I still miss the mountains (and seasons.) For my science requirement in college, I took geology courses, and in the back of my mind, I was thinking, "Man taking a geology course in Colorado would pay off in dividends!" Because you could learn about it and then go out and directly witness it. Count yourself very blessed, sir!
OMG, I learn so much watching your videos or I like to think I do. Thank you for making them. This is by far one of my favorite RUclips channels to watch.
(CGC) most Interesting i like the Way you have Reverence for the Land! I've Heard and Believe the Natives Indians( Shamans) believe everything is Living, Alive and Aware, the Stone the Plants the Birds the Moon the Sun, everything! I have much Reverence for the Land and Tread ever so Lightly!! Much Respect, now let's gets some Gold! Dean( Soul) Toronto
Absolutely Soul! We are part of this amazing natural earth and must respect it for gracing us with its riches. Life, requires Life

Good Evening!
Great hunt and the knowledge
From the land of true History, thanks Mark!
Rock on brother man ;)
🤘you as well my friend!
Great video thanks
Cheers Deward🙌
Great video man!
Cheers Matt🙌
I love the geologic term"old man wrinkly chin"😂,love your videos,I live in Colorado, like to meet you!
Hahaha, this is very highly specialized and specific geologic term ;)
As Usual..It goes without saying.."U-ROCK"!!!!..(pun intended)!🤩
You're so Gneiss! ;)
@@ColoradoGoldCamp HeHe!!
What a great video. The formations were awesome as was the explanations of how formation occured. Glad you saw only a rock kitty. Thank you Fella 👍 👍 👍
You saw it!!! So cool! I only noticed it afterwards while editing.
Also can't get enough!Love all the walk through investigations above and below.Love the sample ore to button very interesting.
Thank you Tim!
Just what the doctor ordered, geology lesson. Thanks for putting your neck on the line for the content!!
You Betcha Ron!
Love your vids. Regarding the mountain lion threat, I don't get why the simple and obvious solution ain't mentioned anywhere here: carry a sidearm. (the safest and most effective solution certainly ain't "bear spray"-- Common Sense in the Western Outdoors 101)
Thanks RT! It is always good to pack what is appropriate for any given terrain.
Great tour Dai. Appreciate all the geology and super spectacular country.
Thanks Peter, I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the tour!
Droppin some knowledge. no way would I go near that lion den
The stench was stronger than you could imagine!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp your nuts
That rock and formation is awesome that is a super cool find and man your plethora of knowledge is so awesome the things a person could learn just going on a hike with you would probably be incredible keep up the good work dude ✌️⛏️
That den was crazy man stay safe
Such a fun explore! I'm pretty sure that whole area was a day bedding spot for cougars and likely a recent kill/feeding site.
Love the geology field trip, thank you!
My pleasure Andrew, I live for this stuff!
❤❤❤….. I love playing in the dirt !! Yes. Rocks too !!!
OHHHH Man you had me on the edge of my darn seat wondering if it was gonna happen or not. But since you made the video I figured you made it . But who's to say that there wasn't one in there hiding like you said.... Bad kitty lmao. Yo're right about the geology [ simply amazing what mother earth can do to itself; I really do learn a lot from you even though the geology is different the principles are the same and can be applied anywhere. Thanks for taking us along man what a trip. We we're out prospecting today and found a bunch of 2~300 mesh dust gold. But had a blast in the snowy adventure. Cheers my friend.
It was pretty intense for me too Steve! Sometimes I just can't help myself. Curiosity and the lure for gold is strong! I am glad you guys got out prospecting and found something! Best of luck out there! You caaaan doooo iiiiiit🙌
Dai, you are a nut job! You spent a lot of time stomping around that big cat's home. I love you videos.
I'm pretty sure it was a kill site and day bedding area for those Mt.Lions. Good thing I had not showered for a few days ;) hehe, thanks Claudia!
Did you attend the school of mines or something? How/where did you attain all your knowledge?
I did study Natural Resource Management in College however, most of my prospecting is self-taught.
look at this...look at this...you sound like me. So many cool things! Thanks for taking us with you and letting us see. I’m glad I wasn’t with you...no cougars for me. How many times have you watched the footage? I’m curious if someone will comment that they see a cougar somewhere
When I get in the zone out there, I have to look at pretty much everything. I did find a sphynx type rock cat when watching the footage.
What a fun and interesting video. Thanks,
Cool stuff man! I go prospecting in remote country by myself too. You got to watch out. I had a big cat jump off some boulders about 15 feet from me and all I saw was his big tail and the thud of when he hit the ground and bounded away. Didnt even know he was there.I always have a nice e big can of bear spray ready to roll at all times.
Wow, scary stuff! I'm sure that we don't see the cats 95% of the time but they see us! Wide shot bear spray is good stuff. Be safe out there!
I don't get why the simple and obvious solution ain't mentioned anywhere here: carry a sidearm. (the safest and most effective solution certainly ain't "bear spray"-- Common Sense in the Western Outdoors 101)
@@RTLichable Good as that sounds they're not breaking into my house, I'm breaking into theirs to look for rocks. They live there I'm just out for hike. No point in hurting them critters. Doesn't take any longer to spray a cat than it does to pull a pistol. I already know what your response is going to be. I've bow hunted for a long time, cant carry a side arm when bowhunting. Something you have to learn to live with out there.
aside from the melodrama, this was great. a big cat is not gonna sit there listening for Several minutes and then let you get close to it; in a confined space.!
Cheers David🙌

Great prospecting video ✅
I really enjoy your channel and have learned so much. For that I am great-full. I do admit that made me nervous. Maybe consider taking a sidearm and a first aid kit to control bleeding with you. You would be your only help for a long time looking at the area around you. Just worry about ya man. Again thank you for teaching us so much and letting us tag along to some very interesting and beautiful areas.
Really glad to hear it ET. Thanks for looking out for me🙌 It can get a little scary way back in the mountains. May the adventures continue!
Fast Comment pin 🥰🥰
Like lightning🌩
Got me a little scared there for a bit! I'm in kitty country too. They are always in the back of my head.
Me too! The scariest part is that they actually like to jump at you from behind and go for your neck. You never see them coming...
@@ColoradoGoldCamp Correct you are if they want you gone your gone! The vids on Y/T where people state I was chased by a mtn lion is Kitty claiming his territory.
,,,,,hello. I'm back after loosing this sub!!!...remembered your name!!!....back!!!...I once found a cougar den in rampart range,,,,below devils head,,,,about an hour from the car,,,,down in windy pass....fresh rabbit feet,blood,,,...so cool.......good to see these vid in winter here in the U.P.of mich,,,,,,,back for school,,,!,,,tnx,pat...land o' lakes,wi.
44 mag. Never leave home without
Pew Pew. Lions are fast!
@@ColoradoGoldCamp even more a reason. On the east coast we never hike without. not only bears . There are evil beings that have murdered hikers with plenty missing on the Appalachian trail
@@chuckp3131 I feel safer I'm in the back country than I do in the city.

@@RTLichable I started this with 44 mag
Looked more like a packrats nest to me but no doubt there's cougars in the area . So do you plan on purchasing the claim or working for someone else . It looks like Southwest Colorado towards Durango or Cortez .
Good eye Darrell. This particular area is open to claim. I am doing what I can to prove it up first.
great video,
Really cool geology walk, have you considered selling samples on ebay like other you tubers do?
I am glad you enjoyed it Kubota! I have sold some in the past. With so much rock, I should make a few categories of ore available, maybe this summer!
My father and i saw a montez gato 55 years agobefore sunrise after the mine dumpsby the river. quedate
When I'm in the back country prospecting/hiking/ backing i carry a Glock 20 10mm. Power of a 357 magnum with semi auto capabilites.
Fantastic! I realized over the years, the more stuff that can kill you, the better the gold lolol.
Hehehe, it can get a little hairy out there at times!
Where are you located making this video would love to geek out with you exploring
I explore all around the Colorado Mineral Belt.
@@ColoradoGoldCamp aww. Okay I am in Arizona
Like the exploration
When next1
It'd be cool if some day you could bring a smelter and test directly some of the quartz seams you find. Also you should be armed.
Ooh, that could be interesting!
First time I have ever heard “old-man-wrinkly-chin” to describe geology. 😂😂😂
Hehe, that is very precise and specific geologic term ;)
Wow
Smh where's your side piece and partner ? Don't let conformity get the best of you man - thank you for sharing another good video but you gotta be safe - thank you from the Phoenix area
It sure can be dangerous way back in wild country! The 2 legged critters usually scare me the most!
How gneiss it is!
You are asking for trouble poking around those mountain lion dens.
Sometimes, I just can't help myself. They do say; curiosity killed the cat.....
The one spot was a pack rat nest
I agree. That whole rock outcropping/nook area was likely a day bed and kill site zone.
Black and white vUggies IN QTZ stringers👍🚬🚬
Red and YELLOW come to me...🚬🚬
Now I see....
Crush pan n assay👍👍👏🚬🚬 another excellent video👍👏
Gold and silver he shall seek

If ur gonna be out there u should keep a set of eyes on the back of ur head..or keep an extra pair of sunglasses (black ones) or paint 2 very mean eyes on something and wear it on the back of ur head!! This will keep u from being STALKED
That is a great idea Sara! Cougars definitely like to stalk their prey and are known to jump on the back with a swift strong bite to the neck! Thanks for looking out!
Why don't you carry a 357 or a Black hawk with bear rounds that will stop a cougar very quickly
thise be bootlegs the drill holes were spaced too far apart in the back. Maybe the burn didnt pull . needs a 3 hole burn Bad drilling no bootlegs. It had to have pulled to the nuts. I wantto join your. great club. I mined 4000 oz per ton silve r in the hilltop drift and the continnentital chief Lake county Leadville
Dinosaur fossil?
Looks like a tree stump
