The 90’s sitcom intro is something I didn’t know I needed. 😄
Seriously, I want it every time now!!
The trash can joke took me out 😂😂
But, in fact, I did need it
I thought Josh was just gonna be a trash can lol
Imo, woulda been funnier if Josh slowly popped out of the trash bin and then was like 🤷♂️
how about a Myth Munchers for perfecting fried rice? leftover vs fresh rice, washed vs unwashed rice. mix egg with rice before cooking vs cooking egg separately, add protein (chicken, ham, sausage, etc) vs no protein. plus more tests idk? Then Uncle Roger can review it! pls and thank you
And before you guys say anything, I know you’re supposed to used washed leftover rice. I couldn’t think of any other side by side tests you could do
Please
Fuiyooooooo
@@Gurucervecero meat* If it has egg, it already has protein.
If nothing else it'll show my mom that you can't just make fried rice straight from the dry box

Genuinely worried about Trevor. He's somehow the most stable person on this show, yet I can't shake the feeling that he's actually insane deep inside
You're right, we should keep track of his mental health by listening to his podcast. Available on Spotify and iTunes 🤣
Not insane, just annoying as hell
he’s absorbing josh’s insanity slowly
He's Josh with more social anxiety. He's a mood.
Trevor is going to be a big star on MK
I love the stark differences in the groups here. Nicole and Vi are calmly talking to each other about how well they get along and talking about the food. Trevor and Josh, literally just screaming.
Josh is like an adult golden retriever, absolutely batshit but comfortable in his never ending bouncy-ball energy. Trevor is his pup, desperately trying to keep up but also not sure if anything Josh does is actually a good idea.
It's called misogyny. Happens a lot on this show sadly. this the episode was tame compared to some the earlier ones
@@eleanorthiessen8519 i'm sorry?? i don't see how this is misogynistic. it kinda seems like it's just their personalities.
@@eleanorthiessen8519 needs to be more of it. I agree with you
@@eleanorthiessen8519 I’m glad you’re calling for more misogyny. I agree
I'm so happy they finally realized how hard this series hits, because now they're just bangin them out
Definitely their best series
@@BlackEntourageEnt Let's not say anything we can't take back. No series without Emily can be the best series. It's a mathematical fact.
I agree it would just be nice if they added the final recipe since they don’t explain the ratios they’re using during the episode. Like how much milk, cheese etc.

Next step more fast food feuds or fancy foods or even random snacks. Just more mythical kitchen!♡
Can you PLEASE do an episode on brownies? Melted chocolate vs cocoa powder vs both, white sugar vs brown sugar, butter vs oil, all purpose vs cake flour etc. Thank you! Y’all are the best keep up the good work :)
Or chocolate chip cookies...
@@peterkazmir They've done that one!
The answer is always butter
@@HorsesIC No way! Searching...
@@madeleinescholz3147 I agree on that but I would like to know about the other options. Also if brown butter would make a difference, my instinct is no but I want someone else to tell me that for sure.
RECIPE POSTED BELOW!
I finallly found the recipe they mentioned in this video, about the Turkey episode, it was precisely the Ghost Pepper Nashville Hot Turkey episode. Its slightly different just due to the cheeses they used, but you can always use the cheeses you want. Anyways, here's a copy and paste from that video for the mac and cheese.
Step 3: Make the Mac n Cheese
Ingredients
* ¼ cup butter
* ¼ cup AP flour
* 1 can evaporated milk
* 1 ½ cup milk
* 1 cup cream
* ½ teaspoon mustard powder
* ½ teaspoon cayenne
* ½ teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
* 1 teaspoon onion powder
* ¾ teaspoon granulated garlic
* ½ teaspoon black pepper
* ½ teaspoon salt
* 1 ½ cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
* ½ cup processed american cheese product, cubed
* 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese
* ¾ cup gruyere cheese
* 3 cups medium macaroni, cooked and drained
1) Add butter and AP flour to a large pan.
2) Add in the evaporated milk, followed by the milk and cream.
3) Toss in your spices.
4) Add half of the cheese to the sauce.
5) Pour in the macaroni. Mix well. Top with cheddar.
6) Oil a casserole dish. Pour in the mac mixture. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.
Doing the best work, thank you for your efforts!!
Thank you!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!!
That is a massive recipe. My ‘recipe’ as a kid was shells cooked to package directions, a bit of milk, melted cheeze whiz, a hint of salt and pepper, a small squirt of hot sauce, and once ready add some LeSeur baby peas. Nowadays I would use Fibergourmet Rotini, but I stand by the rest!
You are amazing
Fun fact for all my lactose intolerant friends out there: Costco's webber's lactaid end's up being about 3times cheaper than lactaid's. There's 120 per bottle and they have over twice as much lactaze enzymes than the lactaid's extra strength per pill. Lactaid's 3500 units VS webber's 9000.
Thank you; i also found the large bottle variant with 280 Capsules for $36
@@mrpotat680 Also at costco? :0
@@LeeroyGgJenkins Yep, I just ordered some

I get mine from Walmart. 120 for $10. I don’t have a Costco membership but the store brand is cheaper always
Love this series! Please do a mashed potatoes one. There is too much sad mashed potatoes in the world.
That’s due to over-whipping them. Taters get gluey if you over-beat them - that’s why a ricer makes the best mashers.
My mashed tip. Grab those frozen hash browns. Toast them, salt, then finely dice into your mashed. Gives these nice little crunchy salty super potatoey flavoured bits with each bite.
@@cameronnixon8186 oh my god wait this actually sounds good I'm gonna try this tomorrow for breakfast 🤤🤤🤤
yes please! lumpy, tasteless, runny, i've had to ensure all of those - mine are pretty good but i want to make them even better!
I predict the best mashed potatoes will be:
1. golden yukon potatoes
2. bake the potatoes first
3. sour cream & whole milk
4. salted butter
I'd legitimately love to see a Caesar Salad episode. You guys could easily get into the anchovies.
Fun fact the Ceaser salad was created by Ceasar Cardini, his recipe did not have anchovies in it, however his brother Alex Cardini made a salad called the aviator which did have anchovies in it
Same!!🙏🏼
Oooh will we get to see one of the culinary school grads coddle some eggs?
Anchovies: dry salted v tinned in oil v boquerones. (I'll eat them all as I haven't yet met an anchovy I don't like!)
I think there are anchovies in the dressing of an original Caesar. I could well be imagining that, though.
I love how quickly Josh dropped the schtick when he was worried Trevor would pass out. The genuine concern in his voice is the most wholesome thing I've seen this week ☺️
True, kinda strange vib between Trevor and josh though I felt. Hope they work it out well/are fine
Time stamp?

I can't believe they didn't test baked versus cooked on the stovetop! That seems like myth #1 to bust as far as I'm concerned. I always do mine on the stovetop and have wondered if baking made that much of a difference.
I’m a creamy mac fan so stovetop is my favorite. I don’t mind when it’s topped with extra cheese and baked but I still prefer the creamy middle over the crunchy edges. And you can scrape any breadcrumb or corn flake toppings right off the plate.
But I am wondering why they didn’t have stovetop vs baked vs topping as their final comparison.
@@mirandacoulter888 I think it should have been the first test to be honest. The cooking method sets the baseline for everything else, and they even said at one point had they done stovetop they think the other way would have been better. It's probably the bigger question of everything they tested and if they want watch time it makes sense, but scientifically the one that has the biggest impact on the results should be tested first. I also think the cheese type myth was kind of dumb. Like yeah, different cheeses are going to have an impact, but get creative with it. Three variations of your standard yellow cheddar? Come on, that's not interesting. I want to know if a 5 cheese Mac is actually better than a single cheese, or what if you have really fancy cheese? The last Mac I made had an aged 24 month cheddar, a smoked Gouda, and three other cheese, and it was damn good. But would it have been just as good with a single block of regular cheddar? Who knows, and now we'll never know.
It's absolutely night and day. Stovetop is a quick and easy, but lesser substitute for when you don't have the time, energy, or knowledge to do it correctly.
@IntrepidRacer13 Baked mac is my favourite, specifically to mix breadcrumbs and parmesan on top. You and I go the same route for fancy cheeses too, but I'm pretty sure Josh stays away, for crowd-pleasing purposes.
@@GarthKlaus _"Lesser substitute"_ 😂 Hard take. Love it
Stovetop. Every time!
The intro is so good. It's like putting on a comfy blanket with a bowl of popcorn on Thursday night in front of the TV set downstairs that only gets 8 channels. ♥️
Very surprised they didn't do a breadcrumb comparison (none, Corn Flakes, Boxed, for instance). It's quintessentially Baked M&C.
The only time I've had breadcrumbs on mac & cheese was when it was a pre-made microwave ready meal! I just see it as an attempt to seem more fancy than it really is.
@@PiousMoltar it's more like a texture additive like a crunch
@@PiousMoltar sounds like you haven't had good mac and cheese then lol it's nice to add some different texture. food is always better if it has a crunchy element. it is known.
@@korndud h e t e r o g e n e i t y
They would have had to do Breadcrumbs vs No Breadcrumbs first, and they only do four questions in an episode.
I love these but I really wish they posted the recipes of the final winner when they were done. I wanna know how to make the best mac and cheese now!
I literally came back to this video looking for a recipe :(
Go to 15:38 and start there. That atleast has the sauce portion that wins.
they did mention how Nicole’s Mac & cheese recipe from the thanksgiving episode is one of the best ways to make it (4:25)
elbow pasta, package instructions (like 11 minutes), use evaporated milk and 1/2 American and 1/2 freshly shredded cheddar
24:50 has the board with the final results on it
Dear editors:
Thank you for stopping the music when Trevor and Josh were hyperventilating on their macaroni to cool it. It was comedic gold.
Nicole has impeccable mom energy, which I think is very cool of her. Did anyone else get sad when Josh was alone for the outro?
nicole is the coolest, and you know its true because she even says so herself and asks the audience to confirm as such in the comments like only a truly cool person would do
i agree - cool. no doubt.
Nicole is so cool in a way that I find relatable!
Yes, Nicole rocks. I feel like she's my friend even though we don't actually know each other. The whole Myth Munchers crew is great though and I think they have good chemistry together - they act like they actually enjoy their jobs and being around each other.
nicole is such a babe love that smile and those eyes. the humor tho? meh a lot of dad jokes and weird pauses for non existent laughter.
She is quite a fool, haha
I’ve been ridiculed by my sister my entire life for eating mac and cheese with a spoon and at last, I’ve finally found someone else who does the same
What is wrong with your sister? Why does she even think about something like that? I use either, whatever is clean, lol.
I like runny mac and cheese and there's no other way to go than spoon
Time to kick that bish in the teets
I have always used a spoon
I've always used a spoon.
You lot should start a series called “Community Service” or something along those lines where you find a food crime and recreate it as accurately as possible, figure out where exactly it went wrong and recreate it again but in a much more delicious way.
You had that snickle war once and that was really fun to watch and we all loved Food Fears.
That Intro montage was way too wholesome for this channel... completely off the wall which is what I've expect and definitely worth a good chuckle, kudos guys!
I can really get behind the whole Josh slowly losing his sanity whilst plotting how to target Gordon Ramsay storyline.
slowly?
i could get behind an episode where Gordon Ramsay makes a cameo appearance just to call Josh a donut when he does something wrong or weird.
I want a Food Fears comeback with Gordon as a chef there’s gotta be SOMETHING he hates that Josh loves
17:31 Josh & Trevor doing the mirroring hands looked like a pair of cats squaring off for a showdown. Or two praying mantises sizing each other up. Or that weird thing Manson did to hypnotise people.
Man I would've loved a POV of Josh's face when Trevor tapped out 😂
I love watching the general process that happens to people who spend too much time around Josh. Like, I feel like just being in close proximity means he starts to slowly infect you with the personality trait of being unhinged. Loving it tbh.
i hope they keep the sitcom opening because it's perfect for the show
Gosh , i love episodes when the whole crew is there . i hope Emily will be back this year!
Yall should post the recipes at the end of each video or in the description. Love watching these!!! Looks forward to the next!!
It’s funny that we’ve established that Nicole makes the best eggs and in the intro she’s making eggs 😂😂😂
That sitcom intro was **chef's kiss**, especially the flour toss from Trevor
The way Nicole was talking to Vee was so sweet.
Two mythical queens
I feel like Nicole is one of those people who never hesitates to give a compliment or be verbally grateful
Trevor and Josh doing the fusion dance and yelling is something I didnt know I needed.
Ong, everytime I see Trevor I smile and know it's gonna be a banger episode. Pay this man more please, he is a gem.
When Josh said "if this tastes as good in my mouth as it does in my eyeballs" it made me think of that time in the BA test kitchen when Claire asked Brad how something tasted and he said "visually" 😂
Ha! The way Brad’s golden retriever thought process and communication style could trigger her simmering rage under Midwest nice was amazing
I love the Myth Munchers episodes so much! It's so much fun seeing everyone play off each other, and it's really interesting to hear what combinations make for the best dish, especially when the results are unexpected
Made this tonight. Added shredded buffalo chicken to the casserole dish. This is one of if not the best Mac and cheese recipes we have ever made. Did a mix of off the block cheddar cut with American and topped with Gruyère. Super 🔥. The evaporated milk really makes this dish :)! Keep up the great work ya’ll!
the primal noises you two make when you test each variety of mac n cheese really provides a deep and meaningful commentary on the human condition
oh god gotta love that opening footage
it has this very nostalgic feeling
How about one person cooking everything and the crew tastes the versions without knowing what versions they are testing?
That would be a little too scientific for this here crew
Get outta here with your new fangled "scientific method". Out here in these parts, we look things up in our gut.
I would like this idea to happen. I think sometimes they are definitely influenced by what they think “should be right”
So, you want to completely revamp the show, eliminate 3 of the people from the show, and just watch one person cook for 20 mins?
Trevor's frantic giggling while trying to say what Josh is was precious
i love when they switch scenes and the atmosphere or feeling of the video almost changes and how the boys are so chaotic together haha. never a boring watch
Imagine if Josh and Trevor actually did fuse together. Imagine the chaos they would create
I don't know; I think it might cause the universe to implode! 😆
So glad to hear Josh only eats with spoons. I've done the same all my life.
i eat my peas with honey. i've done it all my life. it makes the peas taste funny, but it keeps them on the knife.
There's nothing you eat with a fork that you can't eat with a spoon imo
@@marenfindlay3088 The hardest things are spaghetti and leafy salads, but I'm still too lazy to get a fork for those.
I eat almost everything with a fork or chopsticks.
Part 2 with cooking noodles in water vs milk, baking vs stove top only, using a bechamel vs no thickening, etc
Omg at 8:03 (ish) when Trevor says, "Put them in LOOSE?!" I laughed so hard, solely because of the following conversation... probably 6 months ago my sister and I made ham and bean soup to bring to our dad...my sister was just going to put the whole soup pot in the car with just the lid on it....as we were in a rush, I panicked, trying to convey that it'd be a better idea to just put it all into a big tupperware container...but for some reason, all that came out of my mouth was, "You can't just bring LOOSE SOUP in the car!!?" We both laughed hysterically and "loose soup" has since become a family joke. 😂
The Josh Trevor fusion dance pose was great 😂😂 but question is: Jovor or Trosh
Jovor Trosh.
Trosh cause Trash, of which Josh is king of, as he tries to convince the raccoons that he is.

this is my favorite series and i’m so glad they’re releasing more of them! it’s just so fun to see the whole crew
The ‘80s-‘90s sitcom intro gives me LIFE!!!
"Josh and Trevor" is the improv duo I never knew I needed!! 😂
That INTRO!!!!
I've love to see you guys do one of these where you actually try every permutation to find the ultimate combination. It would make something like 48 different mac and cheeses though lol pretty tough to really judge with that number.
I like how Trevor’s face seems to have a bit of disbelief or confusion after Josh compliments his podcast without lacing his praise with humor or weirdness.
Their love of processed cheese is truly astounding.
Yeah I feel like an alien because I have hated it since I was a kid lol.
So many more possibilities for this series! Like, for example, pesto...there is SO much debate about the importance of the order and heating and when to puree with what ingredients present and whether you can freeze with the parm or even garlic already in it, etc. So many variables. I'd love for you to test it out!
And if you want more suggestions from us, just let us know! So many options!! Love this series!
PLEASE keep the tv sitcom intro I am BEGGING on my KNEES
I SECOND THIS CORRECT OPINION
I’m going on hour 300 of binging this show.
This show is basically how to basics….but actually edible

Ngl I'd love to see either a stoned or drunk munchies episode with the whole crew. Maybe myths about hangover cures or stuff that sobers you up.
Josh, I love you, my dude, and the rest of the cast even more. I love the Mythmunchers series and the info y’all put out.
HOWEVER… I make a far superior Mac’n cheese and I formally slap you with the gauntlet and have thrown it down. Mac ‘n cheese cook off. Let’s go!
Josh and Trevor doing the fusion stance is priceless
The only time I had evaporated milk, I got the sickest I've ever been before. I thought I was only mildly lactose intolerant, but boy was I wrong. I used it in a soup, and ate it for a whole week, because I thought I was sick from food poisoning, but I had just consumed way too much dairy. It was miserable.
Can't believe dried cheese powder was not in the mix as a cheese contender
23:58 - 🤣😂😂😂🤣
Trev- "It smells different"
Josh *Super serious Chef mode* - "Why does it smell different, thats weird"
Love the bit when Josh and Trevor sound like they're whispering in Black Speech at the hot mac like it's the friggin One Ring xD
Myth Munchers is my favorite cooking show on the internet. Period. All four of these folks are so funny and loveable, I love that they have a little mini-competition thrown in there with the guesses, and it has legitimately changed the way I make/order foods for the better.
Can we talk about how crazy wide Trevor can open his mouth? Mans out here lookin like a cartoon.
When Josh and Trevor started talking in unison it reminded me of a bit I used to do with one of my friends where we would do the fusion dance and then pretend to be fused by talking in unison and I'm really glad at the end of the segment that came full circle.
Never even considered evaporated milk for mac and cheese, what a great idea!
I've always done my Mac & Cheese: Whole Milk Rue > Mustard Powder > 3/4ths Cheddar > 1/4 Pecorino
Usually don't bake it though, because I love it creamy from the pot.
thought josh was gonna come out of the trash for a sec there
If I hadn't watched the episode yet and someone told me he DID jump out of a trash can, I would 100% believe them. it seems like something he'd do.
I thought they were implying Josh was the trash can at first - because he just consumes everything.
I had Mac & Cheese for dinner, let’s find out what I did wrong! 👏💜
What did you do wrong?
Laughing SO hard here. Gut hurts. Crying. Having a wonderful time. Thanks, ya'all! 💖
And the fusion bit omg you just made me a huge fan by combining my favorite things. Food, DBZ, Mythical shenanigans
Every time I've seen people use evaporated milk it wasn't a direct substitute where you make a roux, instead you cook the noodles in a shallow pan with just enough water and then dump the evaporated milk directly on the noodles after the water has cooked down, using the milk and starch from the noodles as the thickener.
People use evaporated milk in cheese sauces like queso dips because it slows the sauce from becoming coagulated (it stays creamier longer)
Nicole is the epitome of cool. Love you guys!
Love this series! Very entertaining content and team making the kitchen fun
LOLed at the funny bits, including the Fusion Dance! XD
What I do is cook my pasta in milk, so then I get Evaporated milk using regular milk, since it evaporates while cooking, and gets thickened with starch from pasta, then just add cheese and you good
Oh my gosh, that's a genius idea!
I ran out of milk the other day, used evaporated milk instead. It's a short cut. But it did make it creamier, easier than boiling in milk.
Wait, it doesn't curdle??
Nicole gives off such a comforting maternal vibe and i love it
Man what an intro. I knew I liked it from the moment Josh started leaning in for a kiss, but then to be hit with the sitcom intro is perfection overload.
It’s adorable how giggly Trevor is 🤣❤️
At april fools day, Josh should make a home made egg.
The rue for the cheese is cool and all, but have you tried sodium citrate? You can REALLY go cheese forward with the sodium citrate. Makes sure them cheese proteins don't get grainy under heat! Makes amazing cheese sauces for everything cheese sauce - Mac and cheese, queso, etc etc etc. DO IT!
That's what the American cheese was for. Sodium citrate is an emulsifier that they add to processed cheeses to stabilize them.
Definitely! I've made it exclusively that way for the last 7-8 years. Now I'm curious to try it with evaporated milk, though...
Okay but eggs vs no eggs, and topping vs without, and baked vs stovetop??? So many more variables to be tested!!!! Y'all need a part two.
Awesome, love it. You guys rock! :D
Hey btw, what episode do you all make Nicole's Mac and cheese?? I need it!!
That intro brought joy
You guys have really got something with this series. Loved that intro!
Man, I feel like I have been making mac and cheese wrong my whole life. I just follow the box, and then add a little spices and sometimes tuna. I have never thought/heard of baking your mac and cheese.
Baked Mac & Cheese is great....but I don't care what anyone says, boxed Mac & Cheese is delicious. I too add stuff to it, salt, cayenne pepper, usually a meat of some kind...ground beef is my favorite. Canned Tuna is great too.
So I'm recently watching these in no particular order and find that a raccoon army is something I also would want. Also this is the 2nd episode and the 90s sitcom intro was just *chef's kiss*.
My aunt actually uses chicken stock, pressure cooker, of course elbow, I believe a little bit of whole milk and surprisingly like 4 or 5 different cheeses and its the best damn mac I've ever had.
Welcome to the beauty of Evaporated Milk! Wait til you try it in oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon.
Oh snap! I'm totally going to try that now.
I love this bit. I have commented and subscribed. Thank you josh and trevor
This is so good!! Literally my favorite team on RUclips!!
y'all should do one for potato salad too.
Also I don't usually make a sauce but I've been considering doing so just to elevate my macaroni a bit more. I do know that some people make their noods in a broth (I would use veggie cause I don't eat meat) and it turns out really flavorful.
what a great episode!
you guys are such scamps
you're inspiring me to try my own hand at mac'n'cheese
(i never have before..
..it can't be _that_ hard.. ..right?)
i still might opt for rotini, at least for this go around - i like its mouth feel a lot
The bit that Trevor says was an awful bit, I am sitting here, trying to do my job, and listening to this. Got me in stitches, I am cracking up!
Love the bit, love all the bits
Myth Munchers will always be my favorite series.
Summoning Nicole and Vi with a fusion dance is something I didn't know I needed
But the rest of the copying bit was pretty grating.
I wanted to see them do the whole dance, it would have been funny
The best bit: Trevor and Josh coughing at the Tony Chachere’s lol 😂
As a Mac and cheese fan, there is too much sad Mac out there that's just poorly cooked noodles and watery cheese sauce. I'm always disappointed by that sad stuff, especially when a restaurant changes a premium for it.
