- Ethan goes through how to tune the top of your sander for perfect flatness. Occasionally things can get roughed up in shipping and parts shift. It is always a great idea to check before you use.
Thank you again for the information. when I get my shop setup and get the flatmaster I will know how to set it up
Thanks for watching Herby!
If only it were that easy to adjust all shop tools...
Some are, and others are a right royal pain in the A!
Good job mate. 👍🏽
These are really cool sanders. Do you have any comparison videos to discuss the pros of these vs things like the supermax sanders by chance? I am trying to figure out what would be the best choice and was wondering your thoughts on the features of each? ie why flatmaster wins overall is of course appreciated. :)
I found a video elsewhere which showed someone with a supermax sander, taking the top cover off...and making a flat table "attachment" like the flatmaster has, for it..so I got a supermax sander, and if I ever have a big need for something larger may try that modification. :)
I have done this over and over. Looks like it's flat with straight edge. When I run say 18 inch stock through no matter what it has a belly in the middle. I have been messing with this for 3 years trying to get it to sand and make the stock flat. I make guitars and I have to have every piece flat. I end end doing it by hand, then what's the use of this tool? Useless
What's your advice please?
I just ordered one of these… hopefully they have fixed this problem.
your shaft is out of round had same problem they sent me new drum.
What a great idea.
Is there any way to use the Flatmaster as a thickness sander ensuring that both sides of something are parallel?
Good tip!
with nothing solid to bolt too but a gauged metal hopper with a 40lb motor bolted to it and small screws you will be chasing flatness forever.
Honestly… if it’s no longer flat because it was damaged in shipping I’m sending it back rather than pulling out the tape, that’s just me tho.
