I will be 70 on my next birthday, and this year, I discovered the name of the artist who wrote that fun song "All About the Base." THAT was a gateway song for me. My exercise music and for-the-fun-of-it music includes not only "All About the Bass" but also "I Know You're Lying" and "No" and more. Meghan, I hope you read this so that you know even a Lady Geezer appreciates your music! And thank you for talking about an important topic that too many people are afraid to mention. You are a delight!
As a person who is healing from years of untreated panic and anxiety attacks which eventually cratered a successful career I am so grateful for this openness about the experience of going to the emergency room as a healthy young person firmly convinced one is dying, not understanding that often panic and anxiety strike hardest while we are fulfilling our dreams and seem to be succeeding to all outside observers. Feeling like, "Everything in my life is going great, but I've got this breathing and pulse problem..." while a doctor tries to explain that you're not in anaphylactic shock nor are you in cardiac arrest, you just need to tone down your stress levels, is very confusing when you are in the thick of it. Setting an example of recognizing and dealing with these kinds of challenges helps others realize when they feel the same way or see a loved one in trouble. Thanks Chris Wallace and CNN and Meghan Trainor!

Excellent interview by Chris. He was relatable and made her feel great. And, this young woman is amazing as well. What charisma and humility! She deserves all of this success, for sure.
What a charming young woman. She’s got music sense she lives. She can rap, she can walk and talk. Live this. So grounded in her family and work ethic. Love her. Shingles gave me panic attacks and they were moments when you just lose control. I was walking to my barn and the lesions were hurting and suddenly I was on the ground. I can’t imagine having that in front of a TV audience. Brave young lady.
She is incredibly lucky to have been able to put a name to what was going on with her, at such a young age. Now she can deal with it and understand. I am 71 years old and I was only able to put a name to my own anxiety this last year. It's such a relief to be able to forgive myself for not being stronger in various situations over the years.
While not a real fan of her music but my God I just love her personality, it feels genuine, real and so adorable and charming. So glad she's had success, someone like her definitely deserves it!

Prowling The Peach State I've seen her twice in concert, and both times did a VIP "sound check" experience. She is as real as anyone you'd meet, and so sweet and genuine.
The pressure and the toll that the life of a celebrity takes on a person's physical and emotional condition is something that is often missing behind the glamour of their coverage in the media. This was enlightening.
I love this Chris Wallace tv show, reminds me of Larry King Live, talking to famous people! I love this Meghan Trainor interview! She’s pretty and down to earth
"I'm sorry. I didn't..." "Nope. It's alright. I'm still honored to be here." Awww. She was trying to be strong. This right here endeared her to me so much.
The whole thing about panic attacks and mental health generally is the victim has no idea what’s happening or why. It’s NOT thoughts running through your head (always) and it’s not something you can just think your way out of. I get people offering all kinds of positive affirmations and reinforcement techniques. They just don’t understand that it’s deeper than that. My mind can be totally blank and I’m in a tailspin. It’s like being caught in a riptide: the more you resist, the worse it gets. The only way out is to learn how to relax and “swim” through it. That takes expert guidance and support.
The whole panic attack and anxiety reaction from her is very similar to mine. WOW. I had experience the most horrible time at my workplace AND had a miscarriage. A year later I was at the doctor weighing 78 lbs, with incredible muscle pain, leg pain, arm pain and lack of appetite. I swore I had some type of illness, virus, lupus or something like that. …and I was explained this anxiety and depression stuff and felt so offended 🤣🤦🏻♀️ like “me! I’m strong, this shit don’t happen to me!” Check my hormones and my thyroid maybe my miscarriage left me with a health condition…. Yup. It was Depression and Anxiety 😐 3 years later I am doing MUCH better.
I've heard about this thing where people don't know that they're having anxiety attack and they think something else is wrong. Sometimes staff even thinks they're faking it, which is horrible.
@@cockeyedoptimista I'm a nurse but I used not to believe that stuff like stress and anxiety could exhibit physical symptoms. @@delilah28100 thank you for sharing that. It's interesting. It can be hard to believe I guess, especially if even a nurse didn't believe it! Absolutely love how open Meghan is and love the fact she open bout anxiety this is so relatable to so many people. One of my favourite artists and her beautiful family ❤
I get the same panic attacks and anxiety, it seems like it gets worse and worse the older I get. Telling oneself to just get through something and not pass out resonates with me 😐
She is so delightful - a treasure to be protected! I fairly recently experienced a panic attack. It was so horrible - and the thing that I didn't expect was that it affected me emotionally for about a week. I really beat myself up - was so negative in my self thoughts. And I would see something sad and would just break down into tears. Watching what was going on in Ukraine, or a video about an abandoned puppy getting adopted would just have me sobbing with overwhelming emotion. Horrible....
@Edelia Martins - I said I get upset by what I see happening in Ukraine (so much death and destruction). What did I say that was anti-Russian? YOU don't know ME!! I have visited Russia (and Ukraine), studied Russian language and have dear Russian friends! I'm not anti- Russian at all. I actually love Russia! I don't like WAR!!! And I don't like that PUTIN started this war! Russians are also victims of Putin!
@Edelia Martins - It's not for Russia to decide who can join NATO. The issue is not that Ukraine was looking to join NATO. It is that Ukraine didn't join NATO fast enough!! Do you notice, Russia attacked Georgia and Ukraine - but not Estonia, Latvia or Lithuania? Catch the difference - the Baltics are NATO members! Ukraine should have joined NATO quicker so Russia would not invade! Did you notice before Finland and Sweden did not want to join NATO, but since Russia attacked Ukraine, now they have joined? Countries don't trust Russia and want to protect themselves from Russia. Eastern Europe experienced Russian domination - they don't want it ever again. Russia is threatening and chased them into the arms of NATO. And do you really think the West has any interest in invading Russia?? NO WAY!! Russia should be more concerned about China wanting Russia to split apart and then they would want to take Russian land and resources in the Far East and Siberia. You should be more concerned about China!
@Edelia Martins - Putin totally misjudged Ukraine. He thought Ukraine would be Slavic brothers and welcome Russian troops. He thought Zelensky would flee and Kyiv would fall in 3-7 days. He thought NATO would not support Ukraine (like they didn't do much when Russia invaded Crimea and Donbas). He thought he has a strong military which could crush Ukraine in a couple weeks. But now it's clear the corruption in Russia has left a weak, poorly equipped military. The soldiers are not motivated - they are not properly cared for. Putin screwed up so badly he had to call for mobilization. And it's so unpopular that about 700,000 men fled Russia. And even with sanctions Putin left 1/2 Russian reserves in Western banks - now all blocked. Can you not see Putin has screwed up over and over and over and over... He has done so much damage to Russia. How do you still support him?

She is so down to earth and charming and this interview sheds light on a very important mental health topic. Also, for those knocking the song itself, Google the lyrics. It promotes a positive self image even if you are not a size 2, which is a good message for her target audience
They should not have done that to her. They knew what they were going to ask her about, what they were going to show, literal footage of her, they knew the story, and they didn't let her know in advance to ask her permission and give her agency in prior knowledge for informed consent. They ethically needed her informed consent that they were going to show that obviously triggering clip, make her watch it and ask her about the events that she personally experienced that unfolded around that. That is too personal. Yet to do that without prior knowledge and informed consent sent from her specifically is completely unethical. That is not journalism. I expected more from you CNN. She literally had an instantaneous knee-jerk reaction of "no I don't want to see this" and they should not have made her watch it. They should have stopped it playing. They could have asked her about it and added that clip in later. You can clearly see she felt pressured there to continue it and not put her needs ie mental health first and ask them to stop it playing. Not okay. The interviewer seemed to be surprised she didn't know they were going to play that clip, so I suspect it was the CNN team that failed to give notice of this, or her own team that didn't pass the message on, however I highly doubt the latter, given the seriousness of this particular issue. I really expected an ethical standard to be upheld, CNN. It was not in any way.
I felt that throughout the whole interview, he was just waiting for her to stop talking to ask the next question... like not even giving any thought or precedence to what she had just said 🙄.
@@ericagarza8160 You are so right. Real journalists are supposed to be listening to the answers they get and use that information to ask their next question. The pre made questions prepared are supposed to be a guide of topics to cover. With celebrities especially doing something like this those topics are pre approved by their team and anything traumatic like this is either deliberately addressed so the celebrity can talk about it in the way they want to and have prepared to do so, or are avoided. Bad journalists stick to that question list and do not listen to the person they are interviewing. Like this interview. That's why Parkinson and Graham Norton are so reverred and renowned. Because they are respectful, never make it about themselves or an idea of "getting to the truth", and they actually listen to the responses they get and are intelligent enough to ask follow up questions with the new information they've just recieved. That makes it interesting and they get information noone else does. CNN didn't have to do this to her, she's not a politician and there's no reason they had a moral obligation to "stick to the questions to get the truth";, it's a very personal story and their moral obligation here was to respect her and not disrespect her wishes. Mills' harms principle comes in here too, why provide unnecessary abd unasked for, unprovoked harm to someone? This is harmful. How dare they make her relive it with no warning and then forced her to watch it even after she reacted and said no. No means no.
@H K S Not shaming. Middle school, song, body and booty, @0:32 seconds random chemistry with a stranger is a one nighter.....then a man with a wife, a child and all alone with a 19 year old talking about her booty and every inch of him is perfect. Yea, ok. #GodBless
Meghan. My first panic attack was nursing school and it took me years to be able to even talk about it. I soon learned all I had to do was learn how to breathe...emergency rooms for over a year before they know what was "wrong" with me. You killed it that year. So glad you did.
hi friend :) i just wanna say I am praying for you, that Jesus would fill your mind, heart, and body with His peace that surpasses all understanding. you are so loved by God. Something I was just reading in the Bible, in Luke 12:22-24, Jesus is talking about how God feeds the ravens even though they don't sow or reap in fields, and how He clothes the flowers of the field with such beauty, even though they don't labor or spin thread! If He cares that much about ravens, and the flowers that are here one day and gone the next, how much more will he care for you, the one He knit in your mother's womb and went to the cross for!!! Jesus became fully man so that He could fully understand humans, and even He has gone through intense stress (Luke 22:44). He understands you, and even though He was tempted in all the ways we are, He never sinned so that He could take on our sin upon Himself and lay down His life as a ransom for us. He stood in our place, with all our sin, hurt, and shame, and this was so that when He rose again, He could give us His own life, His righteousness and holiness, and free us from the tyranny of sin and give us forgiveness. In Christ, we are a completely new creation and we can be filled with His Spirit and walk without fear! Because God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but one of power, of love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Whoever believes in Jesus and turns to Him from their sin has eternal life and real freedom! I knew that when I read the passage about God caring for us that God wanted me to share it with someone, and I didn't know who. But stumbling across this comment, now I know it was something He wanted me to share with you! I don't know you, but God has known you since before He formed the world, and you are fully loved by Him. Jesus is the God who sees you. He sees everything you have gone through, and He knows your mind. He is with you my friend, and I pray in Jesus' name that all panic attacks, anxiety, fear, and worry would leave you right now in Jesus' name, and that you would know the God of peace, and be filled with Jesus. Please let me know how I can continue to pray for you!
Not really the point. Just another poorly written headline. You don’t bother to watch before opining, or you lack the most basic level of empathy with the struggle to overcome a health condition. Not something to brag about, either way.

She is lovely. Honest, genuine- you could tell when she was reading that her voice is not in it. Glad she recovered. She is a great inspiration for people.
Meghan's reaction to seeing that vid just struck me. Back in 2000, I was 31yo when I suddenly started experiencing crippling panic attacks. Had no clue what was happening to me. Numbness and burning in my extremities, heart racing uncontrollably, electrical pulses ripping through my head. Fear compounding all of it. Half dozen or more trips to the ER over a three month period, convinced I had a brain tumor and that i was going to die at any second. Finally, it took a VA doc working urgent care who tended to me on a previous trip for the same reason and remembered me to finally make the diagnosis. Funny story, because I was so convinced that I had a brain tumor despite accepting his diagnosis, he nonetheless authorized a CT scan to put my mind at ease.
She’s so real and I am glad it doesn’t seem like she’s changing that. I hope she’s taking care of herself. You can have the career and the family you just have to know how to balance, prioritize and know when to say no.
Chris Wallace is a kind interviewer. Glad for him, he can do these types of interviews now. Meghan Trainor is so brave to talk about her story and such an amazing writer/performer. Well done.
What a beautiful message and personal sacrifice for the greater good. This WILL help people. Meghan beams out this wonderful, positive, generous vibe, and it makes me so glad she is seeing such success and admiration of her talents. Watching her little family grow is so fun. I wish nothing but each day being better than the next!
She is so cool. She exudes confidence which is sexy as hell. This girl has been playing and writing music since she was 7 years old. She had three complete albums written and recorded by the time she was a teenager. If you aren't familiar with her she's written multiple songs for many different bands from country to rock
I remember my first, and worst, panic attack with crystal clarity. It was just as Ms Trainor described, I collapsed onto my couch, unable to move. The circumstances were, thank God, very different. I was lucky enough to be in my own apartment. I had moved into a new apartment, located in a big old house, and just a block from the ocean, as far south as one can get on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. I had been told by the landlord that my apartment, especially the floors, as my apartment was above the ground level utilities access room, were thoroughly insulated. This was important to me because I was paying for my own heat. I went on the equal payment plan to keep the monthly payments reasonable year round. It was mid spring when I received my first bill from BC Hydro. It was for $200. And I was always cold. This was around 30 years ago, so in today's money that's close to $350 a month every single month. There was no way that I could pay for that. My boyfriend and I checked the room under my apartment. It had dirt floors, and not a speck of insulation anywhere. Turns out that the landlord was shady af, and was in a bit of a mess with Revenue Canada regarding his taxes. After I moved, a friend of mine next door to my old apartment saw him dumping files into public trash cans down at the waterfront a block from his house. Idiot.
I was in a similar location, but for different reasons. I just remember falling down and sobbing in this loud, uncontrollable manner. I had to literally CRAWL my way up off the floor and finally heaved my lifeless body onto my bed. I was curledd into in a ball, unable to move, unable to do anything, except shake and sob. It lasted for like 60-90 minutes! The whole time I remember thinking "why are you reacting this way to SUCH a small thing? Wii>>ìhat is this?! Why can't I stop it!?" Eventually it did subside, but every time I even remotely felt a similar way, it would spike my fear and anxiety. I would scream to myself "oh Lord, not again!" They have become less frequent, however, the memory of that moment will exist in my memory.
Well, I love it, too! It’s just a great song and now has a ton of covers to add to its success. I love to see that she can be so open about the stress and its impact on her life.
Mental health is a tough nut to crack. When it grabs hold, you really don’t have any control and no idea what’s happening or why. The worst part is NOBODY around you takes it seriously. She’s so fortunate that her team was so sensitive to her needs.
Only video from CNN I’ll give a thumbs up to. My first panic attack was terrifying. Feels like a heart attack and like its your last moment on earth. I sympathize so much. I had PTSD from mine according to my therapist and doc
I had something similar happen during my deployment to Afghanistan. Thank goodness for civilian contractors out there… the women treated young Airmen/soldiers like myself like their children… and one made me stop working and go see a doctor. After a week on bedrest, my commander tried convincing me that I was pushing myself too hard and that I basically had “battle fatigue”. To me, that didn’t explain the chills/fever and vertigo like feeling. I now believe he was right.
Meghan is a genuinely affable and humble person independent of her celebrity status. Also, doctors make significant mistakes all the time. Be your own best judge about what really ails you.

@@pottah6910 being too skinny isn’t healthy either. She isn’t asking people to be fat but asking people to be confident with their body and not compare themselves with those supermodel.
@@SHAUNOFTHEWEEK do you honestly think that lyrics like ‘skinny bitches’ and ‘stick-figure’ are encouraging people to be confident? in the song she’s also basing self worth off of pleasing men. it’s encouraging confidence for the wrong reasons
@@pottah6910 not everyone can be a size 2. This song tells you it's OK to be the shape you were born to be. As to the shaming? It's turnabout cuz most times it's skinny people shaming the chubby or heavier ones.

Kudos to Meghan for being so upfront about panic attacks and how devastating they can be. You rock!
Excellent interview by Chris. He was relatable and made her feel great. And, this young woman is amazing as well. What charisma and humility! She deserves all of this success, for sure.
Probably a welcome break from depressing hard news for Chris.
Meghan has released other good songs, but she still skinny shamed women in All About that Bass song and music video
This is the advocacy we need. Appreciate you speak about it despite still being hard to find the words
The song could’ve been better if Meghan didn’t skinny shamed women to be specific in All About That Bass music video and lyrics. She’s released other women-empowering songs, but definitely not this song. Very disappointing.

I've seen her twice in concert, and both times did a VIP "sound check" experience.
"I'm sorry. I didn't..."
"Nope. It's alright. I'm still honored to be here."
Awww. She was trying to be strong. This right here endeared her to me so much.
She wasn't "trying to be strong". She WAS being strong.
Well put. 👍
I just LOVE her! Her music style is different and catchy.
All the blessings to Meghan and her family. Very touching to hear her story and what she's been through.
Hahahaha!!!!!!
Yup. It was Depression and Anxiety 😐
3 years later I am doing MUCH better.

@@cockeyedoptimista I'm a nurse but I used not to believe that stuff like stress and anxiety could exhibit physical symptoms.
@Edelia Martins - Seriously? Do you have a soul?
@Edelia Martins - I don't support Putin because I love Russia! May Russians feel the same even if they are afraid to say it.
alhamdulillah! My life is now complete. I now know the story behind ‘All About That Bass’. She is really down to earth

She is so down to earth and charming and this interview sheds light on a very important mental health topic. Also, for those knocking the song itself, Google the lyrics. It promotes a positive self image even if you are not a size 2, which is a good message for her target audience
Okay, but it also says that a person size is okay because men like it.
Instead of saying love yourself for you, it says seek validation from others.

If you think the media gives s***t about people you are nuts.
@@tj-kv6vr as I said this issue is literally about the ethics and morality that literally do govern journalism.
Haha I’m sorry, you expected ethical standards from CNN?
I didn’t think I could live another minute without knowing the story behind that song. Thank god. 60 minutes, you saved my life.

hi friend :) i just wanna say I am praying for you, that Jesus would fill your mind, heart, and body with His peace that surpasses all understanding. you are so loved by God.

I'm an introvert and I get panic attacks in some social situations and I usually go to the restroom or outside sit down and calm myself down.
First time I have heard her talk. She seems like a great down to earth person, no air's and graces. I'm glad she's in a good place.
