Is it best to start streaming on youtube, twitch or kick? Im aiming for streaming to become a replacement for my current job. I love gaming, so I wanted to take what I love and make it into a job. I never edited any videos before so starting a youtube channel is probably not the best for me
Regarding a previous video, I do not recommend setting hotkeys. You can't use those keys for anything else while OBS is open. I've accidentally started a live stream several times today while doing other things. It took me a minute to figure out every time I pressed those keys a stream would start.
@@CpawsMusic Never heard of a Stream Deck before, so I looked it up. That looks like a good solution. I'll have to consider that. Thanks. The only hotkey I have set right now is to mute and unmute mic/aux 3. Probably the only thing I really need to control while I'm playing a game. I have a noisy house, so if I'm playing during the day, I unmute to say something. Speaking of which, I was confused by a previous video. We created another mic audio and set the audio settings for that. Then, we had 2 mic/aux. Wouldn't that cause an echo? I had to uncheck the track boxes for the first mic and mute it then just used the one we set up mic/aux 3.

I'm also a game developer and much of my failures has to do with having money. I've listened to my streams. Not very good quality, especially on the mic. I think mainly because it's not close enough. Sound goes in and out as if sometimes the mic can hear me and sometimes it can't.

It can definitely be pretty hard to get people talking sometimes (I sometimes even find that it's harder when I'm talking about the game) I recommend trying to switch up the topic after a bit if no one is biting and asking simple questions like 'did anyone do anything fun today'? Also sometimes people just want to lurk and I can respect that, so really you just have to try your best. Regarding a previous video, I do not recommend setting hotkeys. You can't use those keys for anything else while OBS is open. I've accidentally started a live stream several times today while doing other things. It took me a minute to figure out every time I pressed those keys a stream would start.
I'd recommend using the num pad keys or whatever keys you're not going to use - also might be worth scooping up a stream deck if that's the case haha

It's definitely possible! Game choice is a big factor on discoverability these days if you're solely streaming via Twitch
