    I'm not sure if you figured the wired speed issue yet, but you have to have a 2.5 or 10gb ethernet port on your device and switch to get those speeds. I'm willing to bet it's your PC's network card, and/or your switch are only pushing 1gb and that is limiting your hardwired speed. All depends on your use case as well. Generally, it's for large data transfers across your network, not so much for streaming services. I saw comments about it being your cable. It's most likely not the cable as cat5e can even pass 10gb speed depending on the run length. 10gb network ain't cheap, but they have come down in price. A tp 10gb switch and network card would probably run you about $4 bills together. Also, you have to make sure that the ip router supports it by having a 2.5gb ethernet port... make sure you are connected to the right one on your router. They usually have a specific port that calls out 2.5gb

    The name wifi 6 is
    misleading because it really just uses both 2.4ghz and 5ghz at the same time to get you a bit better speeds.Wifi 6E is the one that uses the 6ghz channel and Wifi 7 also uses the 6ghz channel along with other additional channels to get even better speeds.If you paid retail $1500 for those decos I would return them because there is no benefit in your setup.A set of 3 deco XE75’s would only run you $300 and give you the same 800mbps everywhere on wifi

    You have to make sure that your devices support WiFi 7, in other words, your devices need to support 802.11be. (Most devices are not yet.) This is why you aren't seeing much of a difference of speed. Also if you are connecting to the 6ghz band would help make the WiFi faster too, but most of your devices will not be able to detect this 6ghz band wifi because it is WPA3. However you are prepared for the future! I have those devices myself and its been great!

      I was gonna say the same. The devices you connect wired most likely only have a 1Gb port. So your 2.5Gb port coming out of your modem into your router will give it your full 1.2Gb speed, but your wired devices to the routers/mesh satellites will only see a max of 1Gb unless the also have at least a 2.5Gb port on them. The benefit you will see is when streaming multiple devices at once.

  • @pbrigham
    @pbrigham Год назад +1

    The first bottleneck is your cable modem, unless you have a 2.5GB NIC on your device so you can connect to the 10GB port of the Deco you will NEVER get 1.2GB speeds. I suspect that the network port on yours Cable modem is only 1GB.

    • @miamicircus305

      @@miamicircus305 Ok perfect, just make sure that the 10GB port of the Deco is being recognising at 2.5GB speeds, otherwise ONLY on the Deco that is connected to the Cable modem you can use one of the 2.5GB ports of the Deco ( instead of the 10GB ) no point wasting a 10GB port here ) and use only the 10GB ports to connected all the Decos between them selfs. Remember, this 10GB connections between the Decos should be done over CAT6 or preferable CAT6A cable so you can have a stable and with no signal loss connection between them.

    iPhone 13 Pro Max only supports wifi 6, so that's your bottleneck in your wireless speed tests. Kind of annoying that 5G cellular speeds can be faster than that but c'est la vie. I did this experiment, once. Surprisingly, with the exception of camera quality, storage capacity, screen resolution, app compatibility (social media was a no go), audio quality….the old phone worked really well. I have a feeling that this may have already been sent in your comments, but a few issues with your test. First of all, you should have unplugged the older tp-link routers and access points you have so your phone does not attempt to connect to them and give you incorrect speedtest. Secondly, you are using an Iphone 13 max. That device does not have wifi-6 capabilities, so there is no possibility you would see anything close to what the speed of wifi-7 Deco can give you. Yes it has wi-fi 5, but the speed is still capped so you will not see any increase. Also, one of the many reasons I dislike Iphones is their slow adoption rate of new wi-fi standards. Dont expect to see wifi-7 chips on any Iphone before 2024 the earliest, 2025 more than likely.
    You should set up a "wired backhaul" and "wireless backhaul" congruently to take advantage of the potential wifi speeds the Deco will provide once you upgrade your mobile device. For now, all you can expect is faster speeds on your laptops, pc, tablets(esp if not Apple devices, due to slow adoption rate of wi-fi), and greater range of the signal. So, basically you have future proof yourself, which is good, but dont expect any of the changes you want until you upgrade your mobile devices.
