  • Prof. Puri talks about how being a world renowned plastic surgeon never stopped her from climbing some of the toughest peaks in the world. She is the true definition of work life balance. Prof. Vinita Puri is Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery and Burns at Seth GSMC & KEMH. She has been honored with the Acharya Sushruta Award in Dec 2022 for extraordinary work in field of medical science, Mrs. Phoolan Devi Gupta- NABI Lifetime achievement Award for Outstanding Work in Burns 2020-2021, Donald R. Laub Humanitarian Award 2016 by ReSurge International. She has been a recipient of the Kilner award and the N H Antia award of Association of Plastic Surgeons of India (APSI). She was awarded the Safdarjung Professorship 2016-17 by National Academy of Burn India (NABI), was also Visiting Professor of Plastic Surgery at Stanford in 2015 and the APSI visiting Professor of Plastic Surgery for the year 2013-2014. She was Editor of the Indian Journal of Burns from 2011-17 and Volume Editor of the 5th Volume of Agrawal’s Textbook of Plastic Surgery. She has many publications in international and national books and journals. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
