I really applaud Melanie for the accurate portrayal of human trafficking. A lot of people think it's kidnapping some random kid and then forcing them to do stuff. But a majority of cases, like this song shows is people being trafficked by someone they know, particularly by a family member.
I relate to a lot of this song.. almost the whole song.. the first time I heard it a few years ago, I was not expecting it to hit my heart this hard.. it brought me to my knees crying. I'll never forget this song, there's so much truth and raw emotion to it. I never thought I'd find a song that speaks to me as much as this one does
