Very good review 👏
I love Kirby's costumes. They are not quite skin tight spandex yet.The Scarlet Witch design has changed very little over the years.
While Kirby will ALWAYS be the King I do prefer Don Heck's Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in the Avengers when the roster changes (Avengers #16).
Bova was the she cow.
I really don't remember when it was revealed that Magneto was Jewish . I do remember the Vision and Scarlet Witch mini series in the 80's that revealed that in the final issue (as well as him being their father)
Good work 👏
Now I definitely need to go grab the Vision Scarlet Witch Mini-Series and finish reviewing it! I went over a digital copy of issue 1, but if the final issue is when it's revealed he is their father I need to grab it, thank you for the insight my friend.
I'll have to admit my favorite version of Quicksilver was definitely Peter David's X-Factor run. Everyone had the right temperment to bounce sarcasm off one another. I am itching to go back through older Avengers eventually before it got convoluted with too many titles, especially Avengers 16.
Also, thank you, I knew Bova was on the tip of my tongue, but my brain refused to release that bit of information being put on the spot LOL.
I appreciate ya dropping and filling in some much need info for future videos, I'll be sure to give you a shout out!
Magneto first learned that he's Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver's father in Vision and the Scarlet Witch issue #4 (1983). It was established fairly early on that Magneto was Polaris' father, but it took decades to establish a paternal connection between him and the twins. I think this was when he was on the path to reforming, which eventually led to him joining the X-Men.
I was waiting for ya ro weigh in this buuuudy! Always appreciate the info himeslice! I'm gonna try to hit my LCS on My vacation and hopefully find issue 4
I remember this issue came with the Toybiz Marvel Legends Toad. Keeping in mind that the X-Men formed sometime before Jean joined the team in issue #1, i do find it interesting that they celebrate their first anniversary in this issue. It really highlights how, even in the Silver Age, Stan Lee aimed to make characters feel more like real people who get older and move on to new phases in their lives as time goes on.
That's why I enjoyed Amazing Adventures 11 because it showed Hank struggling to became a man coming into his own and succumbing to hubris turning himself Furry. That's one thing about Comics that feel stale now, they don't know how to retire heroes and introduce someone knew and refreshing and when they do, they get sidelined like Punchline and The Signal
Chris intro already on 🔥 gotta love the brotherhood
The Brotherhood always had the most excellent villains! Though I will say Destiny, Mystique, Blob, Avalance and Pyro was the GOATED team fur sure
I got The X-men 1963 #4 the facsimile edition. 😀👍
Lucky! If I ever find one, I'm gonna snatch it up and put it on my comic wall
