wow 😮 same engine in my 2004 Element. On another issue my defroster stopped working. Blower works, vents but not front defroster. I plan on checking the cabin filter and a visual on the engine bay. Any suggestions? Thanks
I would see if mode control actuator is moving when changing from vent to other mode settings including defrost and floor. Mode actuator should be located near cabin filter. FYI, defrost and vent are at opposite ends of travel for the actuator/mode doors.
@HotRod-wv4vm Not usually too many aftermarket choices for mode door actuators and most are of similar quality, so any brand would be fine. OEM are better of course but usually much more expensive and sometimes not available anymore.

One very lucky owner that they pulled over right away and didn’t do a lot more damage . Dave to the rescue 👍
I think they were very lucky!

I'm guessing hot enough to melt the plastic timing covers.
@@wilmarbarrick3194I understood that reference lol
👍
I always wondered what those things look like.
Now you know lol!
Here in the mid-west getting does bolts can be a pain
Yep.
Why did the heater control valve fail?
Fell apart due to age. Usually happens after it has been sitting in one position for a while and then it gets moved and it breaks.
Big dog, how does one get the official honda service manual data like you show that you load up on your computer in videos ?
I pay for service info directly from Honda.
@ thank you

OK, I won't tell you....
@@BigDog50001 Yeah next they will be SDSULEV "Super-duper..."
This is a scary failure. One minute your fine, the next you're on the side of the road. No slow driving to a shop, you're just stuck.
Yep.
