- Brushy Mountain housed thousands of murderers and other life-sentence criminals, like James Earl Ray, the convicted assassin of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and Byron "Low Tax" Looper, who was convicted of killing his Tennessee Senate opponent, Tommy Burks. Brushy Mountain was known as the "'end of the line" for prisoners like Ray, and the tour gives you an insider look at this maximum security facility.

Love seeing and hearing about old places like this. I always think if only the walls could talk. Very interesting Don
Don did you get to meet George? I went 2 years ago can't wait to go back!!!! Food was really good. Really enjoy all your video's loved this one!
Thanks for sharing, very interesting
Thanks for sharing very interesting. Have a goodnight. The building on the outside is a nice looking piece of architecture. You just wonder why all these buildings are just being unused it seems to be a waste.
I took my daughter to tour it and it has such a creepy vibe. Did you go to the restaurant? And that little town there has a nice fall festival.
2 of my brother in laws did some time there years ago
I watched a number of ghost hunters go into Brushy.. Very cool Don B, thanks for taking us along.
You bet
Thanks Don! I love these kinds of tours. They are fascinating! And congratulations on your 20K subs!
Sounds like a rough place
This is awesome!!! I always wanted to tour old prisons
Very interesting video. I have heard of this prison before.
Hey! Don B, ty for sharing this was interesting history. I'm sorry I didn't catch when did they shut that prison down. Thanks again 👍
Hey 😊... I think I heard 2009?? Really not that long ago...js
@@huskylove8637 Thank you ❤️
Fascinating Don thanks for sharing
Very welcome
I worked there back in 95-96. What happens at Brushy, stays at Brushy. Remember that when you hear these stories. There's so much more than what they allow to be heard. Don't ask for it to be told, it won't be. At least not to outsiders. For any inmates ir officers from my time who may read this, do you know what happened with Treeman? Did he follow through and come back? Tree was my inmate teacher, really. Officers can only teach from officer perspective. Tree taught me from their side. He has to be gone by now. RIP Treeman, I hope you made it.
I only live about 20 minutes from here Don B
Wow, can you imagine?
As always great content
I live in Tennessee also. You should do a documentary on The Walls
That was cool! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
James Earl ray was a notable prisoner that escaped in the early 80's
He knew killed MLK
Don b., thanks for sharing, but I have to say the music is too darn loud. It drowns out some of what the people are saying.
Cool.
Very pretty area.
Yes it was!
Is the jail haunted?
Yes. Daughters phone started doing stuff on its own as we were near a paranormal activity sign
My dad did time there. For killing my mom only got 4 years should of done life
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry for your loss!
for a moment I thought Dw was going there
Do they still guard the facility?
If it's guarded, it's to keep vandalism from happening
This is very rougjh place
