Join Nashville Public Television and Tennessee Crossroads to see at this once infamous lock-up.
Toured Brushy Today (07/04/2019). Not A Waste Of $$$. Lots Of History ! No Tour Guides, Your Free To Move Around As You Please.
Just visited Brushy Mt at the first of this month. It was awesome to have the opportunity to visit. Incredibly sad and eye opening to the life here. I am so glad you did this video.
We were allowed to tour the prison on our own and William Harvey was around to tell stories and answer questions.
As a former convict there. I can say this. What that female guard said was a lie. What they did not tell you about that prison is this. Most all the guard was kin together. Like brothers cousins and or mom's. An if you ever hurt one of them. They carry you down in the hole and start beating you with there clubs they carry with them
Good.
Same way in Hagerstown Maryland
I agree with what u said i was here to...when it was just classification
I've always been interested in this prison; great video. I only live an hour away but have never visited yet.
Worth the $12 self guided tour. A real eyeopening experience. You should go.
I was locked up there. That place is almost as bad as appalachee CI in Florida
I lived here for 10 years .. the end of the line ..
I recognize the host in the opening as the same dude from some hot rod shows. However, in those shows he seems to try to look the part that he is actually working on the cars, but is primarily narrating.
Been there a few times, as a visitor.
My uncle Charles Self was there for a long time..
I was a convict there in the 90s...the guard's were hillbilly backwoods pos they would kick your ass like they were going to get a bonus...if you got out of line they would straighten ya up...man,would they ever, you keep hearing em say good or bad, well, most was bad, because of the guards.
I served two years at Brushy along with James Earl Ray not a fun place to be
I was supposed to go there, but went to west state instead.
In 1958 my mom took me to brushy mountain to scare me as I understand they encouraged this I want to know is there a guest register she would have signed I remember sitting in the electric chair n prison cells that faced the woods
My exes (2) were in this place at one time and my cousin worked here as a corrections officer and he remembered that one of us girls used to visit during the time it was a prison and he asked which one it was and I was like don't you remember it was me
I watched a video on ghost hunters that went threw here and it was very active.
The public will never get "TRUTH" about brushy.the guards tried to cause trouble.
You need to remember that Brushy was the end of the line for inmates that needed to remember that they were in prison. The officers were doing their job against men who wanted to hurt or kill the staff daily.
They beat so many inmates to death in there it's not even funny!!! They need to tell these inmates story that they beaten to death in their the guards
Is it haunted?
Everyone incarcerated for any length of time should be required to get an education and a proper skill
